“Everything is a good our better than described. A beautiful view of the garden from our Laguna room, peaceful, quiet, wonderful roof top patio, gorgeous flowers everywhere, loved the comfortable bed, the relaxing fireplace was most enjoyable and the very easy check in and out, so much better than a big busy crowded hotel. I wish we could come back much sooner.”

“Had a mixup with a deposit and it was handled courteously and professionally. The staff is attentive and obviously takes pride in the facility. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. . Not to mention the spectacular view. We will be back”

“No real blanket on the bed, just this weird quilted thing that only covered to the edges of the bed, with just a thin sheet skirting over the edges that didn't cover 2 people in the bed. Plus a really heavy coverlet that was constantly sliding off. On a busy road, but road noise was low on the courtyard. Could not hear the rooms next to us, but could hear doors closing across the hall, and yappy dogs. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful but meh and not enough seating.Walkability: None. Must drive if you go out.Food & drinks: Breakfast was plentiful, but mediocre, especially if you want protein.”

“This is the best location, breakfast area is overlooking the beautiful ocean. You can just run on the promenade by the hotel. Walking distance from a lot of lovely restaurants. Awesome breakfast spread and very clean with friendly customer service.”

“We stayed at West Inn & Suites two times in December, a three night and a four night stay. Fantastic little gem in Carlsbad, CA. The staff were very professional and courteous, the rooms (we had a premier king suite 445 sf) were very large, clean and well kept. The rugs and couch could use some updating but overall very happy. Our only complaint was the very heavy perfume smell in the lobby. I believe it was for the holidays (I hope) so hopefully that won't be an issue going forward.Highly recommend this hotel.”

“We used the passport website. Just to utilize the jacuzzi and pools for the day. It was a beautiful Tuesday.Hardly anyone there. It was very relaxing and Is tranquil serene day. It was the adult pool area. It felt intimate but very relaxing.Food & drinks: There was pool side menu with cocktails. I had a cold beer.”

“I love Four Seasons. I don’t think it’s as on point as most Four Seasons that I have been to. It’s great but the guest experience isnt the same as several others I have been to.”

“A good place to relax and unwind. A nice place to stay for families. Convenient location for Legoland trip.Rooms: CleanNearby activities: Lotsa places to visit around the resort.”

“We loved our stay at the legoland hotel. location was super convenient, lots of hidden surprises around the hotel. The elevators were also a surprise and great every time. The restaurants required a reservation, but I booked breakfast everyday the first day we arrived so there wasnt an issue there. We tried both the bricks and castle restaurants for dinner both were good. Everywhere is a dance party, and the staff did events every night from bingo to dancing to story telling. It was a wonderful experience for both adults and kids alike. We ended up using valet parking because it was easy. All the models throughout the hotel were amazing. The pirate ship play area was perfect to spend time in before the park opened. Our kids completed the scavenger hunt the very first night and the pool is heated! but only open till 7.”

“ProsDesigned for Kids: The best part of this hotel. Totally designed for kids in everything they do. Activities in the hotel all around for kids. Activities in the room for kids. Activities at breakfast for kids. Breakfast designed for kids. This hotel is amazing for little ones. This is the most kid-friendly hotel I have come across in the USA to keep kids entertained. The kid loved the outdoor play areas in the hotel and we were very impressed by them too. The play area equipment is very high quality designed to help ensure kids don't get hurt while at play. Really appreciate the thought process and commitment to quality.Fun evening activities for kids is another plus.Appreciate the life guards at the swimming pook to ensure safety is mintained. Hot tub is great.Rooms: Rooms are fantastic. Love the separate sleeping area for kids with the Lego building board and Lego bricks. Love the low height bathtub. Exciting safe with Lego sets everyday.Breakfast/Dinner: Breakfast is very good with plenty of options for vegetarians. While the dinner menu did not have a lot of vegetarian options, the chef was great and made some great vegetarian food.ConsBreakfast Management: Despite taking reservations, reservation timings are not honored. This defeats the advantage of getting early entry to the park as all the time is spent waiting in line to be seated for breakfast despite having reservations. Reservation and non-reservation guests are placed in the same queue. Hotel and non-hotel guests are placed in the same queue. Defeats the purpose of paying a premium to stay at the hotel.Chocolate milk dispenser was not working throughout our stay for breakfast.Would have loved to see more character meet and greets inside the hotel.Swimming Pool: While they claim the swimming pool is heated, it was not heated during our stay.Value: Very good 4-Star experience and 4-stars owing to the amazing kid-friendly nature all around. For the premium being charged, the hotel needs to deliver more value and a better experience to hotel guests to make it a 5-star experience.”

“I was so happy to see the rooms are clean, the staff was so very nice and accommodating. The room was just big enough for a family of 5 (3 young kids).Nice area and affordable and even though it's off the hwy, unless the door is open it is very quiet. This will be my permanent choice of stay when in our passing threw CA.”

“Very very happy with our stay. We stayed 3 nights with 2 small children to go to Legoland. Location was great, beds were clean and acceptably comfortable, management was very polite and most of all the breakfast buffet was delicious everyday! The breakfast kitchen staff were so nice too, my kids loved the omelette so much they made extra for them even when they weren't serving them one day. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you're in the area, especially for Legoland. You'll save a lot of money and it's a nice play to stay.”

“Great place. Close to beach and walking distance to anything you could want. Only complaint would be no A/C and have to use coins for laundry service but the pros outweigh any ”

“Gorgeous relatively quiet property with friendly, helpful staff. We had a corner jr. king suite with ocean view and balcony and both my daughter and I just wanted to move in. We even extended a day we just didn't want to leave, and also I didn't want to stop eating the coconut chia bowl with berries and house granola (and a fat dragon fruit slice) at breakfast each morning. What can I say I'm a taurus, I love good food and the breakfast/brunch was consistently great. Dinner at their restaurant tho... not so much; overpriced and extremely small portions/limited vegetarian options. Ended up door dashing after trying their dinner once. The room tho... was definitely big enough to accommodate two couples or a small family if some are down with the pullout couch, which they had pre made up for us when we arrived (thank you!!). Shoutout to the bellman who helped us with our luggage and navigating the maze to our room at checkin, you are a gem. And also to the bellman who helped us at checkout and perfectly Tetris-packed our car for us for our trip home. Honestly was so easy to solo with a toddler here, and she loved playing games in the MASSIVE lobby during down hours, and all the associates were really nice about it and never treated us like having a small kid running around was an annoyance. I mean, hey, we gotta let them blow of some steam, right? I can't detail every lil thing so here's a summary. Pros: awesome 24/7 pool and hot tub; every room seems gorgeous with some kind of view; lots of places to lounge and hang out on the property; aesthetic landscaping; wonderful bed (but agree with other reviewers about the pillows being too lofty); palatial bathrooms if you get one with a soaking tub and separate shower (it's worth it), and accommodating staff. Didn't get to try the gym or spa. Cons: it's not very economical to stay here (the parking really adds up, too) and frankly the dinner we had was... regrettable for the price tag. And it's a maze to get to the South tower rooms, but the room and views were worth the trek. Otherwise I genuinely have no complaints about our stay. Everything is awesome. Also, speaking of which, we weren't gonna do Lego land but the private walking path to the back entrance was SO easy and also just a beautiful stroll so I said ef it well go, and my daughter had a wonderful time. Don't miss out on the Flower Fields during your trip to Carlsbad if you're there March through Mother's Day. We'll come back to the Westin!”

“Just an awesome place. Great rooms and a great pool area with three hot tubs, ping pong, cabanas, etc. Very nicest. Not a far drive to the ocean and near Legoland. Parking is tighter and it was hard to find parking right in front of our building. Staff at the front desk were great. Needed some more coffee and someone showed up at our room with it within 20 minutes. There are frogs in the field next to us, they will serenade you all night.”

“We love working here. The rooms have great lighting, the customer service is great and Hannah at front desk is always friendly, helpful and goes out of her way to make sure the guests are well taken care of.5 stars x 100000Thank you for always making us feel welcome.”

“What a lovely, quiet place to stay near the beach! The staff was friendly, the room clean and comfortable and it was super quiet at night. Across from the beach and a short drive to the Carlsbad village and restaurants, this hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay near friends.”

“Overall, everything exceeded our expectations at this hotel. From the moment we walked in the doors they were so kind and inviting. Giving us water upon our arrival when getting our keys to our room. Even with a little bit of a mix-up with Priceline which was not their fault at all. We arrived at our room and they had accommodated us with a pull out bed and a king bed so that our family could sleep comfortably. The next morning we ate breakfast at their full breakfast buffet that they provide for free. Even with an allergy to eggs the staff looked up ingredients just to be sure the waffles for example did not have eggs in the ingredients. Everyone was so friendly. The facility was very clean. Parking is free which is a plus, in California it is very rare to find.”

“I really enjoyed my stayctation here with the kids! There is plenty to do for kids such as a 2nd family pool complete with a splash pad, an arcade, a room with a pool table where they also do crafts. I got a suite that had a separate room with 2 twins which was perfect so that they could go to bed early and I could still stay up in the main living area. It's right next door to Karl Strauss and you can even order food and drinks on your phone to be brought to your room from there. The views were beautiful, I could see the flower fields and the ocean from my room (although in the winter, the flowers are just dirt at the moment). The sunset was amazing. Food and drinks were great. Only negative thing was the kitchen didn't open until 3 on a Friday so we had to go elsewhere for lunch. Not too big of an issue with Karl Strauss being open right next door.”

“Had a horrible night being bitten by mosquitoes or whatever the hell it was. The manager never did call me back after taking my phone number and complaint. And saying he would let me know something. Instead, he called the person who stayed there with me. I have bite scars and had to get a bleaching cream to help remove the scars. They ruled out bed bugs, but still, no one spoke with me. No comps made. Only left the room to get food.???Walkability: Benihana is straight across from the front door.”

“I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were great, but my bathroom shower curtain was a problem bc it wouldn't hold up properly and water would splash out. The staff members were all kind and helpful my 11 nights there. Even though I rated the room 4 star, overall is a 5 bc I would definitely stay here again. Too bad they're sold out for the week I'm going back.”

“My check in experience with Preonna was top priority customer service. She made sure my check in was smooth and that my room was up to standard. As a long term guest the staff was friendly. This hotel is under new management so give it a chance you’ll like it here.”

“I am in a wheelchair and the wheelchair accessible room that I am in doesn't have a microwave or a mini fridge. I shouldnt have to pay more on SSI /disability for those amenities. They should be included. Great place and good people work here though.Rooms: The handicap accessible rooms should come with all bells and whistles. We deserve it.”

“The air conditioner was broken and the room service never asks if I need room service or new towels or my trash out. And for the amount of money I spend there you'd think these things wouldn't be an issue. And I think I should get discounted if something doesn't work. Also if room service isn't knocking on my door offering to clean my room how am I supposed to know what time they are available and when they are not? I don't know their work scheduleRooms: Again if the air conditioner or something else doesn't work you shouldn't charge me full price”
