“Great hotel and great location. Tenzin and the staff were great. Our server Juan Carlos (aka JC) was amazing and our bartender Jason was great. The food was outstanding as were the views.
Rooms: Well maintained and great views.
Food & drinks: You will want to start your day with JC at the Blue Mermaid and end your day with Jason at the bar.”

“I recently stayed two nights at Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley for my friend’s 40th birthday, and I can honestly say the service was some of the best I’ve experienced. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely accommodating. They went out of their way to make our celebration special.
One of the highlights for me was how they handled a last-minute request. I had planned to gift my friend a yoga and sound bath session, but the wind outside was intense. Without hesitation, the team quickly pulled together to let us use an indoor space, something they absolutely didn’t have to do, but did with so much kindness. It made all the difference.
I didn’t catch everyone’s name (I wish I had, because they were all so great), but I want to give a special shoutout to Phron, Pedro, Margey, and Jeremy for being especially helpful and welcoming.
The hotel itself was also such a gem: a full breakfast was included with our stay, and each evening they offered complimentary wine and cheese (plus delicious cookies!). The room and common areas were very clean, which is always a top priority for me.
Another unexpected treat was the location. It’s just outside the bustle of San Francisco, so you get the peaceful vibe of Mill Valley, while still being close enough for easy day trips into the city. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby too. I don’t normally hike, but I really enjoyed the Mount Tamalpais trail with its breathtaking views. Bonus: it was even wheelchair accessible.
I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Acqua Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly, and well-located place to stay just outside SF. Thank you everyone!!”
“Had a wonderful six night stay at the Chancellor Hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean very comfortable with lots of thoughtful extras e.g. bath salts for the tub and lots of mirrors in the bathroom. The staff were all lovely, and very helpful. The coffee machine and cookies in reception were an added bonus!”

“Aside from one particular detail, I had a great stay here a couple months ago. They have great rooms and wonderful staff. Unfortunately there was one front desk employee who kept locking the hotel doors every evening, so I had to knock and wait when returning to my room late, and he also asked me to prove I was staying there by showing him my keycard when I returned between 10 and 11pm. As I was working in SF and attending work events late into the evening, it didn’t feel very nice to be treated like a criminal. I’m not sure if this is standard practice for this hotel (he didn’t ask any other guests for their keycard, and the other employees who worked late on other nights didn’t lock me out) but I hope they will change this, as it’s the main reason I would not stay here again.”

“We had a wonderful stay here! Excellent location over the water, near the ferry and shops; room was extremely comfortable and with a great view of the bay; delicious breakfast delivered in the room; very attentive service that made sure we had a perfect weekend.”
“The Marina Hotel is GORGEOUS. I love how the entire courtyard is surrounded by beautiful greenery and pretty things that fly, seeming as if the hotel is in the midst of being overtaken by nature.”

“This is my favorite hotel in San Francisco, I’ve stayed here many times. The rooms are spacious, the decor is understated and elegant, the staff is impeccable. There’s a Blue Bottle Coffee next-door and an Equinox in the building. A number of the nearby hotels are having union issues and there are a lot of protests -The Four Seasons had no such issues, so not only did I not cross a picket line, I had a quiet night’s sleep.
Food and drinks: The coffee at the hotel is just average so thankfully there is a blue bottle coffee shop next-door!”
“Nice welcome, friendly staff and motel even offers a small free breakfast. Building is somewhat hidden in bushes and trees. Rooms not really modern but functionally furnished. Perfect for a night traveling from north to south or vice versa.”

“Amazing staff. Beautiful hotel within the financial district. The included breakfast every morning was superb and in an amazing setting. The only opportunity I would suggest is offering dressers/a chest of drawers in the rooms. Otherwise, fabulous!”

“Give Judy a raise!! Extremely helpful, patient and super attentive. Did not take even a minute before she impressed us with her wonderful customer oriented skills. The hotel itself is well maintained and great for short term stays. The breakfast was simple but plentiful. Definitely get the cookies in the evening from the front desk.”
“An unforgettable stay!
The location, right in the middle of the park with Golden Gate views is absolutely spectacular. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotless, and peaceful. Staff are warm and welcoming. We loved the healthy breakfast, the cozy wine & cheese hour, and the all-day coffee & tea station. Truly a hidden gem in San Francisco! ??”

“It is what it is. Clean, good location, good value. But nothing fancy. The rooms are a little dated. The furniture is 20th century (including a clock radio with CD player). Carpet in our room was a little worn. Bed was a little bit hard with really flat pillows. But the place is well maintained. The area felt safe, although heard people yelling in the street in the middle of the night. Typical city sounds at night like sirens and street sweeper. It’s not high rise so will be close to street. The front desk is located in the first floor of the parking garage so we parked right by that. The location is good with some decent restaurants a 5 min walk away. No fitness center, pool or breakfast. There is a safe in the room, coffee maker, and iron. No fridge or microwave. Our room was spacious. The staff were all GREAT, from the front desk to housekeeping. Phat was especially helpful when we forgot some medication in our room.”

“This really is somewhere that you would enjoy spending more than one night. We were sad to leave! Each member of staff we encountered was lovely, the decor was beautiful (the lobby and lift were very cool) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great, too.We particularly enjoyed our conversations with the lovely Manoj on reception, who gave us such a warm welcome on arrival and kindly assisted with an early check-in, a surprise room upgrade (beautiful room) and helped us arrange a taxi when we were in a rush to get to our pre-arranged tour on Alcatraz. Thank you so much - you made our stay so special and we will remember your kind hospitality.”

“It was my first time in San Francisco and booked The Donatello thru timeshare! Pictures on timeshare needs to be updated because rooms were spacious, beautiful and did not expect kitchenette! Location, staff service & rooms were excellent and would stay again or recommend. My only negative comment is to have 2 queen or 2 double bed options!”

“Pretty decent stay with just a few issues for how much the hotel costs. Our room smelled with a strange odor the whole time. I assumed it would go away but it didn't. Also the bathroom is very nice and upgraded , but the shower head placement is terrible. It's at nose height (I'm average height), so you have duck in order to be under it. Employees are all very nice, but I wouldn't stay again unless addressed.”

“We stayed at this hotel approximately 2 weeks ago and had an issue with check in. I left a review stating my frustrations and promptly received a call the next morning from the manager, Steve H. He listened to me without interruption, and at the end said he wanted to make it right and correct what had happened. I greatly appreciate his customer service and willingness to xontact me to see how the issue could be resolved.
As I stated in my original review, the hotel is in a great location, very close within walking distance to so many poular attractions. There were four of us staying in the hotel, so we made sure to book someplace that had free breakfast, and the breakfast was amazing! We would fill up each morning before we headed out to hit the city. Also, and added perk, all of the concierges were so helpful and knowledgeable.
Thank you IHG for the wonderful customer service in a world where that's not always the case. We will definitely be staying here again when we retun.
Happy Hoosier Family”

“I have no complaints about the front desk service. The staff were very nice, welcoming, and accommodating to my occasion. However, aside from the service, the hotel is not perfect. It was not super clean, especially my room’s restroom. There were loose hairs on most surfaces, see photos. I also want to warn others that this hotel is in a very noisy area, which can’t be helped, but I think it is fair to point out. Lots of traffic noise, honking, and loud music throughout the day and night. I would say this hotel isn’t the best for a restful night’s sleep.”

“Motel with very thin walls, you can hear the neighbors snoring. Clean room but with a musty smell. Cleanliness ok good location for fort mason about 15 minute walk from the pier. Free parking. It does its job for the cost”
“I had a sweet weekend getaway! I can't stop thinking about unit number 5 and those breathtaking views. I'm already counting down the days until I can come back. The hospitality is exceptional. They even allow you to use beach chairs for free and provide complimentary beach towels. You absolutely have to check out the enchanting courtyard on the property. It's a hidden gem with the most beautiful hummingbirds you've ever seen. The rooms were comfortable, beautiful, and spotless. With a short walk to the beach. I'm especially grateful for the owner of this unit. She's incredibly kind, respectful, and goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is comfortable and unforgettable. If there's any issue with the room, they are more than willing to accommodate and fix it for you. Her customer service is exceptional. I cannot wait to make this a family favorite for me and my family to return again.
Rooms: Clean, beautiful and comfortable.
Nearby activities: Hiking and city vibes
Safety: I feel so safe and secure. Very quiet sleepy beach town.
Walkability: 5 minute walk to the beach
Food & drinks: Nearby eateries and shops that are one of a kind.
Noteworthy details: Beautiful views and a lovely courtyard.”

“West Point Inn has a very rustic and welcoming feel. The Innkeepers are awesome! Especially Kathy, Janice, Bob, Karl, Pat and David. There is a new Innkeeper Kathy who is awesome! All the Innkeepers are there to help you with vast amounts of really useful information. They are all very familiar with the numerous trails that stretch out all over Mount Tamalpais, they can make great recommendations for loop hikes, long hikes, short hikes and everything in-between. The Inn does not have heating, so if you're staying overnight bring a sleeping bag. There is an incredibly well stocked kitchen where you can prepare meals, make coffee/tea, etc;
The outside deck is a fantastic spot to have lunch while taking in the beautiful panoramic views. West Point Inn is a local gem ? ?
I highly recommend this business”
“We had a great stay at Hotel Caza. The location was perfect for us and we felt safe. We enjoyed the lobby area including free tea/coffee and cookies. The only let down was the single glazed windows and the noise (from the back of the hotel) at 4am each morning. Sounded like a bin lorry and literally sounded like the windows were open. I suggest you ask for a room at the front as likely to be much quieter!!”
“Stayed here for one evening as it was centrally located to an appointment. The service was so kind and they have everything I need. The room and bed were comfortable, the bathroom amenities were nice, and it was quiet during the evening. I'm very appreciative to the front desk staff who assisted me - they offered things I needed and made a photocopy for me. The lounge next door was perfect when I just wanted to relax and get a quick bite. Will stay here again.”

“I'd cancel my trip to San Francisco if I can't stay at Music City Hotel! The staff: lovely. The rooms: clean, efficient, comfy. The location: I love Bus 19!”
“Thank you, I loved this place back in the day and will be visiting soon
This review is twenty years old!
I used to stay there 5 days a week. When it was $50 a day, I'm sure things are changed. Reading that a burrito and a salad of forty dollars, but it is Marin County and it is Northern California's hidden gem. Do they still rip down the street signs to keep people from finding out where you are?
We do pay the sunshine tax and it looks like the rooms are a lot more expensive since 2004!”

“Stayed here for a couple of nights to attend a wedding. Got a good deal with all sorts of upgrades and extras by booking through Amex. From check-in to departure the entire staff was helpful, polite, and so very kind. The staff is a huge reason for the 5 star rating. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe king room and it was very well appointed. All the furnishings were newer, the room had a great view, plenty of water, robes, slippers, etc. Location was central, walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.”
“Went here for my wife's bday and enjoyed it so much, we went back 2 weeks later, for my bday. The pool was large and lovely! Basketball was fun as well. As for the room, we got the Jacuzzi room, each time. Its a weird layout, but it's workable. Had my brother meet us at the poop for my bday and when it was shower, it was tough cause the shower is in the room in the open. So if you have guests over, they gotta wait outside till you're done. we always stay at Best Western cause they are pet friendly...”
