“Room 103. Large, immaculately clean and very comfortable. At check in, we met Sam, a courteous and gracious gentleman who is well versed in the surrounding area. In the evening we had a wonderful conversation with Mike at the front desk. A very jovial fellow who made us feel most welcome! Thank you Sam and Mike. There was only one problem.....the wifi was slooooowww and choppy. Perhaps poor Wi-Fi/Router placements or not enough? They did trying fix it when I asked. Saw it off line and rebooted. So what, we didn't stream. This place is a Gem!!!!!! Thank You!”

“Incredibly beautiful rooms, right over the water with a view of SF. Great bedding. Amazing service - from wine and cheese at night and free breakfast brought to your room in the morning - the service and atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommended.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Marina Motel! The staff were very friendly, the location was perfect, and the beds were comfortable. Having coffee and hot cocoa in the room was a nice touch. It’s a charming building with some quirks and our room got a little hot, until we found the fan in the closet! The neighborhood is pretty loud with nightlife and loud cars - maybe some street racing? So bring your earplugs and white noise app.”

“Amazing hotel in great location. Close to Union square, shopping mall and facing Market street. Dine-in service was quick and efficient. Hotel Stuff was incredible. Something I didn’t know, you get access to Equinox gym which is on the 4th floor, otherwise I’d bring some workout clothes.”

“Great hotel with an awesome staff. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. But the staff and location are what sets it apart. From the moment we checked in the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with our requests. Highly recommended with lots of food options close by”

“Spent 3 nights this past week for a work trip and was happy with my stay. Location is convenient and close without getting too close to the Tenderloin. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very soundproof.

I knocked off 1 star from my review because I had no way to stream any content on the in-room TV so had to use my own device. Most hotels have this feature so I hope this IHG hotel upgrades in the near future. I plan to return here on my next SF trip!”

“Room is just perfect. We stayed in #3. Everything you need at your disposal. One block walk to food, parks, stored and the beach is 2 blocks away. Perfect Highway 1 stop. Everything done via phone. Just the most convenient place with cleanliness a top priority. I felt I was the first person to ever stay here. Amazing!”

“We stayed here three nights. The rooms were very clean. Didn't hear any traffic noise. Staff was friendly. Reasonable price. Free parking. Close to public transportation. I dropped a star because the wifi was spotty. Couldn't watch video on my tablet.”

“Although this place is over 100 years old and still has the charm and splendor of thag era it has man modern-day upgrades. It is in a noisy are of San Francisco so be aware. Most of S F does not quiet down that much at night.”

“Five stars for the Mill Valley Inn at 165 Throckmorton Avenue in downtown Mill Valley. We stayed the night of May 31 and it was everything you want from a small inn in Marin County—charming, impeccably kept, and steps from the heart of the village. Our room was clean and quiet with a balcony looking into the trees, and the little touches set the place apart: a complimentary wine-and-cheese hour in the evening and a generous breakfast in the morning, both included. The staff were warm and attentive without hovering. What makes the Mill Valley Inn special is the location: you can walk out the door to the shops, cafes, and bookstores of downtown Mill Valley—we strolled to The Depot on the plaza—and you're a short drive from Muir Woods, Sausalito, and San Francisco. It's the rare hotel that works equally well for a romantic weekend, a wedding stay, or a quiet base for exploring the redwoods. If you're looking for the best place to stay in Mill Valley, this is it. Highly recommended.”

“My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. It's a perfect place for anyone who appreciates Victorian style and historic charm. The furniture and decor were beautifully preserved — vintage throughout, yet everything was in excellent condition.

The room was spotless, the atmosphere was cozy and elegant, and the attention to detail made our stay especially enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed.

We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique, charming, and memorable place to stay. We would be happy to return in the future.”

Overall, great experience here. Highly recommend.”

“For the price, this was an amazing hotel. I liked that you felt you were right in the city - with tons of bars and restaurants around - and that the hotel had charming historic ambiance - the front room with the huge windows and the ceiling alone were impressive! The room was spacious. We had heard maybe to worry about staying in this part of town but it was totally fine - if you went three blocks south you would be in a bad part of town ( Tenderloin) but we just walked east and west. If you walk north you’re in Nob Hill, which has some great restaurants and bars as well.”

“We stayed here for two nights, and overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, and the interior was beautiful, featuring a charming vintage style. We would give this hotel 4.5 stars because, overall, it provided a wonderful sense of comfort and felt like a home away from home.

A few areas could be improved. The breakfast was quite limited and repetitive, with very little variety from day to day. Also, slippers were not provided in the room, which would have been a nice addition.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience”

“It has a sleek, modern interior and offers events like comedy shows or dj parties. Their cocktails are excellent, and each room has some really interesting and unique design features.”

“Favorite bar with my favorite bartender Skip. Always makes me feel welcomed, remembers my favorite wine and tells me an interesting story. Order the charcuterie board, you won’t be sorry!”

“Wonderful breath of fresh air. The views, facilities and relaxation is so close to home, yet, first time for me. We enjoyed the trip immensely. The Park Ranger told many stories and enjoyed our wine and cheese. The rustic setting that sits atop the mountain was amazing. The kitchen was vast. Dining experience just delightful. The very best part of it was following morning waking up to fresh coffee and looking out over all those clouds moving so quickly - the downtown San Francisco skyline peeking up from the white powdery fluffy goodness. Fantastic.”

“We were traveling with our two adult sons and a girlfriend for a long weekend. In order for everyone to be comfortable I was considering 2 rooms at a regular hotel or a place like this that allowed us to have 2 bedrooms plus a pullout couch and 2 bathrooms. It allowed my son and his girlfriend as well as our other son options. It also allowed all of us to be together in the same location instead of two hotel rooms. Plenty of room and this place exceeded expectations. The hotel made sure one room had two twin beds and one room had a king bed. perfect for our situation. You can also get it organized as two bedrooms both with king beds. It was essentially a large apt with a hallway, large modern kitchen and washer and dryer. Bedrooms each had their own beautiful bathrooms. Both bedrooms and living room all had views of Alcatraz and Bay. Pay for the view. 1000% worth it. Staff was extremely friendly. What you would expect paying for a place like this. I still claim based on what we got for the price was better than getting two regular rooms at another hotel. Noise was not a factor. The location is fantastic. Walkable to everything. Safe. The rooftop space with firepit is lovely. We used it. They gave us a sweet San Fran Frame, a personal note and a disposable camera to take photos for our memories. They had Nespresso on kitchen counter. Wine fridge. Wine for sale at hotel. Free expresso and water in the lobby. Plenty of games to play in the lobby. I would highly recommend if you want a memorable, 5 star experience and have a family you want to have all together. We arrived at 9 am (long before the 4pm check in) They allowed us to store luggage and we explored the city--went across golden gate bridge, etc. and got in room about 3pm. I believe it was available to us about 1pm and they texted to let us know. The only possible room for improvements - I wish they had a light free breakfast and wish they had regular coffee in the lobby. We did see a mouse in Ghirardelli chocolate factory right below our hotel room. Not shocking as hotel is historic and doors are generally open, but seeing it head into rafters in ceilings made me a little leery regarding our room although we did not have issues in our room. We did quietly notify the Ghirardelli staff so they knew and we let the hotel know since mouse was at ceiling level of wall. They responded right away and let us know they would let maintenance/cleaning staff know. They took it seriously. I did not expect anything of it, but had hoped when we asked if we could have late check out that they could accommodate. Based on looking at bookings that night on their hotel site it looked like our room was not sold. They offered to allow us to stay from 11am an hour longer to 12pm, but would charge us $200 per hour from 12pm to 4pm or $800. That was disappointing. I had hoped a free late checkout to 2 or 3pm as our flight home was in the evening. Not a big deal, but for the price felt it was an accommodation they could have offered and really made our day. Something to think about:-). overall I give it a 9 out of 10 and highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff!”

“Everything about this hotel is great, aside from the breakfast. Compared to other Holiday Inn Express locations that I've stayed at, the quality of the food was subpar with limited options.”
