“For the past few months I've been working on a small at-home project that uses a lot of hard to find hardware, and also some taps with strange thread sizes and pitches. Fastenal has made getting everything I need easy. I just go to the website, search for what I need, write down the SKU number, call them up and order it, and pick it up when it comes in. It usually takes a day or two for the oddball stuff they don't have in-stock, and sometimes three or four days if it's a really strange item, like a 3/8-32 tap, but the stuff is cheap, good quality and they are always friendly and helpful, even if I order something that's only a dollar or two. I always thought of this place as only for the contractors and big-quantity customers, but they are perfect for the little guy too. The west Sac and Dixon locations are the ones I've used, and everyone at both locations has been nothing but friendly and helpful. Give them a try, you'll be surprised how easy it is.”
