“Originally I said Trader Joe’s was ok. Then I explored more thoroughly and found a lot of what I shop for weekly among the many offerings. Prices are fantastic and products are good quality.”

“Best little corner store we could have asked for! They have everything you need when you’re in a pinch and forgot something when you’re cooking. I have popped over for flour, bouillon paste, and onion, or fresh herbs. I find their prices very reasonable. They also have an excellent selection of pastas and Italian cookies. We personally love their frozen pizza selection. So happy this store exists up the street from us!”

“I’ve lived in El Cerrito my whole life and how did I miss this gem?! They have a nice, but simple, selection of various Korean goods. As others have mentioned, do not skip the homemade kimchi - absolutely delicious. The auntie made me feel very welcomed, I love supporting local independent businesses, so I will definitely be back.”

“I was skeptical about coming to this store because of the bad reviews. But this store was the only Safeway near the el Cerrito Bart station, so I had no choice. I came here for something to eat for lunch because I had a gift card. I walked in and seen one security card at the door and I expected him to say something about my backpack I was wearing because of the reviews but he didn't give me a hard time. I wanted a sandwich so I walked to the sandwich making station but a lady said they were closed, so I had to pick a pre made sandwich. I then went to get some chips, I couldn't find any small bags of chips so I asked this lady putting boxes away but she said she didn't work here. Which pissed me off just a little because she was obviously lying. But I eventually found the chips I wanted. I headed to check out but none of the lines were open, just the self checkout, which I had no problem with. Ambiance wise: The self checkout is kind of hidden because there are rows of snacks and drinks surrounding the area. Overall It's not that bad, it's just the employees come off as having an attitude like they don't want to be there.”

“Never seen a coin star like this one! It was beautiful. I'd happily deposit my coins for the 12.7% fee. The service at this so-called Safeway was delicious. I would think that we were in a heaven Safeway Safeway in heaven this is Safeway heaven. Safeway heaven. Safeway heaven. Safeway heaven. Safeway heaven.”

“I guess I was not the only one that was in need of grocery. Lucky is a great place to go and pick up something without worried about parking even the fire truck fits here.”

“This might seem odd to leave a review for it but an employee with the name tag Luis just made a breakfast burrito with such care and precision and professionalism that I actually was moved it's rare you see somebody care about putting something together in just that way these days.

It's weird to say he seemed like a cratsman over something as simple as a breakfast burrito but he was amazing.

I've only ever had this experience once before and it was somebody who owned a Falafel stand in the Haight Ashbury District of San Francisco ... but that was 15 years ago.

Luis is an asset.

I'm getting on the BART station and I'm going to the airport but I'm glad I stopped here.”
