“Old fashioned pharmacy with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. Durable medical goods along with prescriptions with gifts things to peruse while you wait. Highly recommend!”
“I have to give a shout about the young lady at the pharmacy register. I haven’t seen anybody multitask so effectively and efficiently for so long! And she does it with a smile. A true gem in this era - 5-Stars!”
“The staff here is amazing. They are beautiful, kind women who value customer service above all things. I had a photo order issue and they resolved it for me no questions asked and made me feel respected and valued by doing so. We need more people like them running stores. Every customer they came into contact with they made small talk with and ask if they needed help. You could see the impact of their service on the customers' faces. They felt taken care of, something that's become more and more rare as time goes on. Thank you SV CVS for all you do and those you help!”
“This little pharmacy is the best gift shop. They have most everything that you could need even if it is a little more expensive because it's out here in the mountains. They have very cute toys and gifts for people! it's kind of like a mini Target with an assortment of house goods, although they do not have food I don't think. And the people that work here are always very friendly.”

“5 stars!! Kesha and her colleagues went the extra mile to get my mother her medicine when she was discharged from an invasive surgery. Despite the need for a quick turnaround, the staff banded together to get her what she needed to rebuild her health in record time! So thankful to have a service of this quality available in our community.”

“Years ago, I was directed by a clinic physician to a local, privately owned pharmacy in Santa Cruz. Two of the techs and then a pharmacist treated me horribly when I was in obvious need of my medication. I switched to CVS in Target and have never been happier with a pharmacy.”

“I hesitate to Recommend Tom's for selfish reasons, I'm always in and out of there in about 5 minutes and I would hate to be waiting in line if more people start migrating there from the horrid chain pharmacies.”

“I came into the store right before they close. I was short $.50 and every employee cleaning manager and do their projects to help me out it didn’t seem like much. Does it pay my phone bill very helpful very nice thank you he has”
“Kaiser doesn't have a strong footprint in the Santa Cruz area. These offices fill a gap that is left by the lack of a full hospital. Your only other option for full medical serves is to "go over the hill" (aka through HWY17) to reach the San Jose facilities. If you're willing to wait longer for an in person appointment then Scott's valley may be worth it.”

“Kaiser is and always has been amazing to me. Medication is way more affordable. $10 versus $600 elsewhere. Also Kaiser's more organized about recordkeeping and all the doctors know about other doctors I've seen and my results. I find them to be kind and caring. It's true that you have to stay at Kaiser offices but if you have an ER grade emergency you can go to any non-Kaiser hospital and they will cover it.”

“From out of town, had everything we needed. Nice clean store, isles marked well, found items needed online, with isle # assigned. Items found where assigned. Staff friendly.”
“My vet prescribed an Rx for Methimazole Anhydrous PLO for my 19-year-old cat who was recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism Disease. This Rx originally came in pill form but it was ' high drama' for both me & my cat each time she was dosed which was every 12 hours. So the vet changed Rx to accommodate a different application which made it possible to administer the medication successfully w/o the drama. YAY! She directed me to this pharmacy where they hand-prepare the Rx. I highly recommend this pharmacy not only for their ability to prepare medication for specialized cases but their staff was amazing. They are very knowledgeable & gave me very clear & thorough instructions on how to apply & answered all my questions. I was impressed with their professionalism, patience & overall passion for the good care of the animals we love, our precious pets. My cat & I are most grateful to this business. Refills are a breeze AND they deliver. Cool huh?”

“I like the Safeway Pharmacy on 41st because it is convenient and fast - there is usually a very short line unlike other pharmacies. There are also private rooms to get vaccinated. The staff is mostly polite and attentive. You can easily get someone on the phone when you call.”
“I have to say that I have had some mixed experiences here having my prescription transferred from my mom and pop pharmacy in my old town to here… several times my old pharmacy had said they transferred and faxed them my prescription and one worker at the pharmacy counter who really seemed like she could not care less (not the pharmacist) just kept saying that they never got the transfer.. she didn’t seem like she really ever looked..after three days back and forth on phone calls to my old pharmacy, and they’re great efforts to make sure that went through to Horsnyders, I finally asked for the actual pharmacist to see why they said they didn’t receive the transfer… turns out it must have been sitting in a pile? In any case, this pharmacist found it after three days of my calling back and forth and my old pharmacy actually calling to confirm the transfer days before… at this point I have sympathy for the pharmacist at Horsnyders… I could tell she was wanting to take care of me and ultimately did. Now, the fun part..I go to pick up my prescription and met the two young women at the pharmacy counter…. Completely indifferent, monotone blank stares at you… not a bit helpful at all and two over worked pharmacists in the back…Curious as to what these two young women are there for but to make a customer feel awkward, unwelcome and probably not serving any other purpose.Having had this experience, I now ask for the pharmacist directly who, this last month had all my transfers filled in a timely manner.….now the only down side is having to deal with those two stone cold faced young women at the pharmacy desk.I would have it delivered if I knew I wasn’t taking up that option for a wheelchair bound patient. In any case… I don’t ever want to have to go to CVS or Walgreens unless I really have to.I like to support small and local businesses. I feel every community should care about that.”

“Kesha in the pharmacy is an angel! She has earned this pharmacy its five stars and then some. She and the pharmacist are courteous, respectful, helpful and professional.
Customer service is not easy anywhere and is particularly brutal in Santa Cruz where many jobs are understaffed and the public is, in general, preposterously entitled. I deeply appreciate how genuinely kind and friendly Kesha is, going above and beyond what I would consider adequate service for a transaction. I very much appreciate that both the pharmacist and Kesha are respectful on the phone and in person, even when I have prescriptions that have to be special ordered. This is the first pharmacy I’ve been to that was willing to make a special order.
They do not treat me like a criminal or a bother and it keeps me coming back here. I hope the managers of this pharmacy take note and do what it takes to retain the high quality staff! If you are currently suffering from mistreatment at Walgreens, I highly recommend switching to Safeway on Mission.”

“This is the best CVS in Santa Cruz. Not only do they have a great selection of items, the store is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I'm also especially grateful for the manager Fernando who has cleaned up the parking lot situation and clearly takes pride in making sure his customers not only feel welcome but safe. I can personally speak to this as a female shopper, thanks to Fernando I can once again feel safe and secure parking and shopping at our West Side CVS. As a matter of fact, I pick up everything from grocery items to my favorite skin cleanser in one stop! We need more managers like Fernando in Santa Cruz county!”
“Costco pharmacy has been way easier for us than the national chain drug store near our house. Wait times are easy to manage when you use their call/text system and the hours are terrific. No complaints. We had vaccines here too with no problems. Staff seem friendly and competent though different every time I go in. Some of the one star reviews are years old… check the dates!”

“There was a good deal on canvas prints so I figured why not try printing out some of my own shots to hang around the house. The prints came out beautiful!! So nicely done, love them. Didn’t expect them to look so nice on the canvas print.”
“Janeva is the best. Normally I use CVS in Scotts Valley out of habit. They couldn’t get my prescription for some reason yet didn’t notify me about it. I went in and they suggested trying Walgreens. Walgreens faxed CVS for the transfer which CVS didn’t respond to. Then Janeva talked to them on phone and got it transferred. CVS said I could only do a 3 month supply but I’m going out of the country for 4 months. The prescription was for 6 months supply. Janeva not only was able to do the 6 month supply but for cheaper than CVS! Normally it’s $120 for 3 months but she figured out how to do it for $80. Not only is she amazing at her job but she’s nice and funny too.”
“Nothing but good things to say about this place. I had a canvas print order that got mixed up, Vicki was very kind and professional in handling the whole thing. 10/10 for customer service I will be coming back for more prints!”

“JAY in the photo lab here in Santa Cruz was the most courteous and helpful employee that I’ve ever had to work with!
He guided me through the app process and had me in and out of the photo lab in 10 minutes with the most beautiful picture of my grand dog!”
“I’ve always had a good experience at this CVS over the last 20 or so yrs. Clean, bright very friendly and they don’t move products around so I can go straight to what I’m looking for. Sadly customer base is declining over the years.”
