“Have been a customer at International Market in Isla Vista since the early 1980s. This family owned business is more than just a store. It is a vital part of the Isla Vista community.”
“Jerry, at the meat counter, cut some very nice steaks for me; he was very helpful. Imelda at checkout was friendly and efficient. Everyone from the deli to the bakery and the cashier were friendly and very helpful.”
“Great variety, love the market feel this establishment has. Their carniceria has great cuts and has variety as well, I always get the ranchera for grilling, well worth it.”
“Great place to shop and very reasonable prices. The store is very, near, clean, and organized. Makes you feel comfortable and welcome! This was my rat time visiting this chain so had set very high standard! I highly recommend shopping at this location!!!”
“This Trader Joe's has the best parking lot of any location in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area. A definite plus. Also, they have a slightly larger store meaning the inside feels less cramped, and the shelves are always stocked.”
“European Deli offers a wide variety of European and Middle Eastern groceries not available in most stores. Their selection is good and prices are usually reasonable.”
“Scored some great deals again on items I was super excited about! Like the plant pots are super high-quality and literally a quarter of the price anywhere else grass fed tri-tip again a third of the price of anywhere else organic produce vegan butter just a lot of really great stuff like that. Lacroix prices are unreal.”
“A good mix of local and regional, including Mexico, nuts, veggies including Sunchokes for example, and fun cheeses along with related baked veggie products. All in a former gas station where the south-facing outer stall has table seating to chill out or picnic alongside a flower-shop's cart while augmenting your nearby restaurant/cafe takeouts.”

“I love the store mainly for their meat and deli counters, its like a step back to old meat counters. Their Black garlic pepper marinade is phenomenal and the butchers are always happy to recommend items to you.”
“The bakery here is wonderful! The person who does cake designs is so talented. He has done a cake for my son's birthday 2 years in a row and they have come out wonderfully every time! Thank you so much for making his birthday a wonderful day and making purchasing a cake a wonderful experience!”
“This is a great and very friendly place. It's local, Santa Barbara and Toni, the owner is one of the nicest guy you will ever know. I've been shopping there from after it was was old gas station, late 1970's. What a great job they do. I appreciate them so much.”
“Fathi is awesome. Genuinely, it's been a pleasure to have met and built a relationship with him. Great conversations and stories can be had there, along with a wide variety of your "grab and go" convenience needs on the Westside of Santa Barbara. The early bird DOES NOT catch the written here though!”
“Classic mid-century, unupdated grocery store in Goleta. Cash & credit cards accepted. Friendly staff. Smaller meat section but a robust liquor section. Good basic fruit & veggie selection.”
“I had an incredible shopping experience. All of the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend shopping here, and I will definitely be returning. I had the pleasure of talking to the store manager, Tina, and she was able to answer all of my questions, as well as help me with everything that I needed. They provide quality products with very good deals, and made grocery shopping a wonderful experience.”

“Awesome steam tables and salad bar and deli section. Incredible variety of items thruout the store including stocked vitamin and personal care section. Pricey but worth a visit for specialty items. Store is HUGE.”
“Probably the best option for semi bulk groceries. Offers good quantity at a low price. Imagine Costco without members ship but less packets. Cashiers are nice. It's got everything you need really.”
“If you're looking for an Asian-focused market in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area this is a great option. Wide selection of various Asian food products including Chinese, Korean, Indian, and Japanese. Cookware and other kitchneware items also available. Some fresh-food or frozen food items as well. They sell PG Tips tea if you're into that, along with a decent selection of Asian teas and alternative hot beverage options. Get Hi-Chews here also. Friendly staff, cash & credit card payments.”
“Wasn't nearly as busy as I'd thought it would be on a Friday evening. I'm at this store 3 to 4 times a week.
Glad it's post Christmas shopping now, grocery stores become a bit more frisky during the holidays. I hope people are nice to the staff especially during these busy shopping days.”
“I have been walking here from my house in the neighborhood since I could walk; Westside Market has been a staple of the westside for decades. IMPORTANT INFO: THIS is THE only place to buy lighter fluid/butane in I think all of Santa Barbara after 9pm (til midnight!)PS fun fact: Elias used to own this market; he's the best! Now he owns the smoke shop on De La Vina and Mission called Paradise Smoke Shop; pop on over there for all your tobacco and head change needs ? He and his son run an awesome shop! Cheers!”

“I have been to many Vons stores in Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles as well as the dear departed store in La Cumbra Plaza. But I have never shopped one as small. compact, jam packed as this store. This store sits on one end of the Plaza and the Mesa Cafe on the other. It is also very convenient to the area in SB in which my family lives. And so, since I am a Von-ite rather than a Ralph's shopper I i shop here for basic household needs. For special stuff it is Trader Joe's or Whole Foods (which reminds me of a Hippy-Dippy version of WF's and closer to what used to be called Mrs Gooch's). So i came here a couple of times and found the service to be very personal with the seemingly new, semi-trained staff very helpful or willing to find someone that will help. I had empty product spots re-filled so that i could buy it. I mean: what store would do that? I mean literally fill a shelf hole with product in the middle of the day. Of course, since i spent 10 years with Vons i know the lingo and i am not shy about asking for what i want and need and who to ask for in order to implement this. But honestly it took very little prodding: no matter what the clerk was doing. Though small this store has managed to stuff the shelves with most products you can find elsewhere...even a tiny service deli with packaged soups and specialty items. Pricing is high but so is pricing all over. (i feel for those Mothers who have to buy package cereals whose pricing is sky high!) Though my family would rather shop Ralphs downtown, i like this store. Plus there is the Mesa Cafe of course: one of my favorite spots in SB. Parking is a little tight but at least there is a good sized Lot. I noticed there is even a McDonald's in the Plaza that i never noticed before. Whoever manages this store has his work cut out for him and he or she is doing a bang up job hiring a hard working crew and keeping the store stocked. There is so little room i couldn't figure out where the storage was? Across the street? On a barge in the close by Pacific? In any event i love this store and will be back for sure. Cheers!”
“Is basically a full blown grocery store in Isla Vista! Has a very wide selection, and a good amount of international food items. Very well stocked with everything someone living in IV would need. Helpful staff as well!!”
“??? Team !!This was the first time we ordered catering and we were crazy about the butternut squash, salmon was excellent that I poached in rosé, and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy!!You deserve recognition that was no small feat pulling off so many orders.”
“Nico in the floral department was very helpful and so kind in helping me get balloons for my work event. He worked with my schedule and even picking the colors of the balloon over the phone. This is the best service and deals on helium balloons in the area. Highly recommend!”
“I have been here about four times and have always been pleased. I love how it's both a restaurant and a busy market. There are nice booths in front near the street. Parking has gotten way better since the Project Connect re-striping. And if you use a bike or the bus to access Old Town, you will find it much more safe now.”
“This is a small store but they carry lots of vegan brands that you would find in stores like Whole Foods. They also have some of their own vegan meals, prepackaged and ready to eat - like a vegan breakfast burrito and vegan Alfredo pasta. I discovered some new things here- like the "so good" brand miso mayo dressing! The selection differs day to day. Some days they sell out of some options, like the vegan cupcakes. You need to come back when they restock. That's the only con. Updated from previous review on 2023-07-10”
