βAce is the place with helpful hardware folks! But seriously though, this store always has a variety of employees with knowledge to help you find what you need and have practical advice to stop you from buying what you donβt.
The store has everything you could possibly ever need in and outside of the house. Youβll find every tool and supply to complete those DIY projects and home maintenance. You can also pick up a new grill and replace your string of lights for the holidays.
Itβs also right next to the garden center which has a fantastic selection year round and has equally amazing employees. Super helpful!

βGreat place to pick up Benjamin Moore paints. I order online and pick it up to avoid wait times (which arenβt that long but I always end up leaving with things I didnβt intend on buying ?). Great customer service and they do occasional sales! Grateful this is my neighborhood hardware store.β
βWonderful hardware store with a full selection of boat/marine focused items & knowledgeable staff. We were able to find the correct fuel for our boat's stove, thanks to the associate. Also has all the typical hardware items, including a room full of every screw and bolt you might be looking for.β

βI don't live near this hardware store. It's a bit of a grind to drive to here. And there are other hardware stores closer to me.
But no matter what I need, I aways take the time and make the effort to patronize this place.
Brian is the man who has impressed me with his down home demeanor and helpful approach to treating customers. But, everyone I've met at this store are helpful and knowledgeable.
And if you have some time on your hands even the customers can be fun to engage with. I've had some customers ask me if I worked there!

βNeeded some applewood pellets for my smoker. I called, they told me they stored the pellets away for the season but happy to check to see if they had the applewood. They did and brought up a bag from storage and had it at the counter for me when I came to pick it up. Needed it because I'm making homemade baconβ
βI made 3 keys at Home Depot, but donβt work. Cole hardware stuff found it issue, and made a key works.The original key is little bent , they can help made a copy key even the original is bent !β
βI appreciate this place :). OSH is old school and much more pleasant experience than other big hardware stores. They have all the basic. More specialized things might call for other stores but this is my go-to whenever possible.
Finding someone to help isn't always the easiest but it's likely because they are helping someone else.
I always get great support and friendly people.
Philip Rogers was working temporarily at the Ashby store from his normal Moraga location... And he was awesome. We tracked down exactly what I needed and had a great conversation to top it off about the history of sound recording for movies and music in Emeryville/Berkeley and some of the trailblazers in the area (which he is one of).

βLast week, I purchased a pizza slicer from another store, but it broke when I attempted to use it. I came to Laurel Ace to get a replacement because I know that its products are sturdy.
Marcos, the associate who assisted me, not only directed me to the proper aisle, but, to my surprise and gratification, TESTED the slicer to make sure that it would hold up! As if this wasn't enough, I also told me that I could bring it back if I had any problems.
I ALWAYS get great service at my neighborhood Ace, but young Marcos is among the BEST associates who I've ever been blessed to deal with. You can NEVER lose by going to Laurel Ace, particularly if he assists you.β

βA truly remarkable place in San Francisco any form of hardware you need any matrix Imperial anything you need these guys have it phenomenal? Itβs like one of the old schools. I canβt say more about it. I have hundreds of their screws different sizes on someone thereβs always last minute they come true for usβ
βThe only lumber yard where they help you load up most of the time. And help you pick through for the good stuff. We go out of our way to go here. And everyone likes their jobs there. That says a lot to me about management.β
