“This place was ok, I came in for a new shirt and pants and found something that would be fine for my next company meeting. $10 for black pants and $16.99 for a nice rayon top? I'll take it. Good value. I also found some new towels for the bathroom. Overall there was not much variety at this store and it looked kind of messy and disorganized. But the checkout girl was super nice and patient as I looked for my $10 off coupon, so heck, I deem the trip successful!”
“I worked at Steven's Creek Surplus as assistant manager in my early 20's in the late 1990's. I read the reviews on here about store security watching people and I know it's annoying. But do you see what is happening everywhere? How are you going to call out a super rare, successful small business, for security these days? The truth is, people get offended. It's embarrassing to be watched. You think to yourself...me? Really? Let it go. They don't know you're an upstanding citizen. If you want them to, then talk with them. Let them get to know who you are. Don't have time for that huh? Yeah, I didn't think so. Now let's talk returns. Why do you think Costco can take back anything people want to return, after it doesn't even matter how long? That's because Costco is huge and they can make the manufacturer reimburse them. Do you think an independent surplus store has that kind of muscle? Please get real. If they take a return that they cannot sell, they eat it. The truth is...this store has been run the right way for a very long time. They have always worked to be up front with people. The policies are there right at the counter. They might not always have the best price on something, but their profit margin has always been fair. If someone has something cheaper, it's because of their buying power and lower cost. Most of the surplus stores are long gone. Steven's Creek Surplus is a survivor. I can still get lost in there forever just checking out all of their neat stuff. They are a rare gem in a world of lab diamonds. Don't break them down for petty stuff. Build them up for being pretty much the only surviving business with character and history on all of Steven's Creek Boulevard...in all of San Jose for that matter.”

“One of the best TJMaxx Home Goods in the area. The selection is always fantastic. They are overflowing in great items. I always find way more than I need. They stay on top of inventory and keep the shelves stocked. The stockers and floor staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Today Aye helped with my check out. She was so friendly. A few items did not have tickets and she had someone look up the items. She was patient and kind even taking the time to wrap a couple of items for me on request. Aye made my experience in the store top notch. Great items and reasonably priced goods!”
