“I went in here when visiting LA to buy books for my kids and nephews (of varying ages). The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and helped me pick books for each of them that were absolutely fantastic.”
“Beautiful book collection - and the handwritten recommendations were excellent. Love the way they organized it too so that you stumbled upon all sorts of titles you might never see at other big box types.”
“Convenient to the 33 bus line, and lots of downtown Culver City’s best restaurants, this bookstore is a must visit for bibliophiles that love romance. Elsewhere that might warrant an eye roll but at The Ripped Bodice, you’re in romance heaven. There’s everything here from beautiful, classic Jane Austen editions with gilt-covered pages to the newest, hottest romances topping charts at all major media outlets. There’s great attention paid to LGBTQIA+ books, both those about those who are and by authors who are. There’s a cute event space, there are stickers and gift items for the special bibliophile in your life (or for you!), and there’s no high pressure sales here. Just fellow bibliophiles, there when you need them. Or to finally ring up your purchase that’s far more than you planned to spend. This isn’t a place you leave empty handed!”
“just the way a used bookstore should be--crammed with books and playing great music. every staff member i've interacted with has been stellar. every time i come here and poke around i happily spend ages and find something great!”
“Really nice and clean. Looks like there is a reading club on Sundays when Farmers Market is scheduled. Everything in tip top condition, but for some backs prices were high.”
“Placed an international order on the 27th of June and received it today (3rd of July), would like to thank the team at Stuart Ng books for the prompt and amazing customer service! Am very happy to receive my book today, the package was wrapped securely and item arrived safely in great condition ?”
“Super cute, well organized and a friendly staff. One of the best little bookstores I've been to. The staff was knowledgeable and made you feel like they truly wanted you to find a book you would enjoy reading.”

“Selection for faith based products are plentiful. Also a wide selection of different Bible editions and journals. The women working the front counter are super friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable for the customized messages on gifts. Will definitely recommend to others and come back myself. Thank you.”

“Children's Book World has the best selection of children's books anywhere. The staff is so welcoming. Getting up close and personal with authors and illustrators is a privilege. Watching Lisa Yee and Dan Santat banter about their latest book, The Misfits, was a treat. The first pages have me hooked. As soon as I have a cup of java in hand, I'll return to The Misfits. Thanks to Children's Book World for this (and many other) wonderful experience!”
“You can sit and drink tea they are organized and there is a beautiful chapel statues abit pricey bit books are reasonable price and easy to find I recommend cotters book store for more variety of religious materials”
“Good idea to open such an artistic book store with quite a selection.
I just don’t like the smell here that mixes painting, and formaldehyde.
I know there are so many restaurants, cafes surrounded, but still thinking why there is not a coffee shop inside a book store? Why a book store can not be more spacious, and having a space to read? I just did quick browsing. I like the books. Each one is so unique. But I don’t feel comfy to stay.
I think I do have a higher expectation when comes to a book store.
Such a big city, just have sooooo many restaurants. But not even a huge book store?
People stay in their phones, posting fake, and dramatic photos or videos.
No place that we can feel comfortable to nurture our brain in the useful books? Soo sad!
Whenever I open TIKTOK seeing those stupid people getting their attention in several ways? I just asked myself WTF? Does this advanced technology make us more superficial? Not saying reading books will definitely make us profound. Nothing wrong to be fun.
It is just too much mental trash on social media.
We need a huge library in a modern way in LA?
Can some rich people help us?”
“It was a great blessing from the ETERNAL, I received what I did not expect and just as I received I was also able to receive the help of the King of the Universe.”
“I love visiting this local bookstore any time I’m in Venice Beach! Amazing curated selection, a big sci-fi / fantasy section, and it’s located right on the beach.
And if you’re thinking that it couldn’t possibly be better - they also have a bookstore cat!”
“This is by far my favorite bookstore in Los Angeles and our go to for any book that they can order for us. No more Amazon! We always love dropping in here and talking to the staff about what their favorite new reads are, and they also give great advice when looking for something more specific. Support them!”

“Lovely shop with a great selection of books, crystals, tarot cards, sculptures, etc.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I love to browse the $5 used books outside anytime I go by. Have picked up some great titles.”
“The store is small compared to some of the other Kinokuniya branches I've had the pleasure of visiting, but it packs a punch. Has a little bit of everything. It is incorporated with a grocery store and a small food court area. Easy to find and very helpful staff.”
“I go here every year for my client's book release and signing. It's a smaller book store packed with books and helpful staff. It's nice to be able to still go to a bookstore as opposed to ordering online.”
“One of my favorite bookstores! The owner is so nice and the amount of books is astonishing everytime I come in. My favorite section is the children's section just because of how large it is. There is a good mix of good and older books!”
“The Taschen store at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles offers a unique blend of sophistication and accessibility, perfectly mirroring its vibrant surroundings. Nestled within this historic market, the store provides an authentic and immersive experience for art book enthusiasts, showcasing their iconic, oversized volumes on fashion, photography, and design amidst the bustling energy. It feels less like a traditional bookstore and more like a carefully curated pop-up gallery, making it a truly distinctive and inspiring stop for both locals and tourists seeking quality and authenticity in their literary pursuits.”
“My family and I’ve been coming to this book store for almost two decades. The owner is always very professional and knowledge of books to recommend. This bookstore has a variety of both new and used books in Korean. I love supporting small and local business that are also historic. Please go to this bookstore if you’re in search for Korean books.”
“If you’re into art, photography, or architecture, the Taschen Store in Beverly Hills is a must-visit. The store has a curated selection of coffee table books, many of which are artfully designed and quite rare. I spent hours browsing through their incredible collection. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality and selection make it worth the visit. The staff was helpful and really knowledgeable about the books.”
“This is my favorite bookstore on the Westcoast. The book selections are robust, the events are incredible, and the store is such a treasure. If you live in Los Angeles or are here to visit, add this to your itinerary.”
“One of the only used book stores that I’m aware of on the west side! They have a very nice selection of paperback fantasy and sci-fi. The owner is very kind and has a great attitude!”
“Super nice staff. Great selection, grabbed the Fleabag pilot and Jaws screenplays. I came to Larry Edmunds 10 years ago and have been waiting to come back! Charming and messy.”
“Love this place! I went to a reading event here last night with musical guest, Lemmons. It was such an incredible vibe and I was able to connect with some awesome people. The people who run this bookstore are so welcoming and warm. 10/10 experience. Thank you!”
