I am not now, nor have I ever been a sporty person. I started coming to Mixtape for their yoga classes. Loved it. I then moved on to spin classes. Yes! I can do this. Now I'm doing the crazy WOD (Workout of the Day). I'm actually doing things in the gym I would have never thought I could do.
The coaches are without exception knowledgeable,
approachable, and encouraging. They modify and accomodate the workouts to your level of fitness. The facility is not like a typical chain gym, but it is clean and welcoming. But the NUMBER ONE REASON why I keep coming back is the sense of community that Coaches Sadie and Jason have fostered in their business. The inclusivity and comaraderie and overall lovefest I feel here are everything. Having a cruddy day at work? Come to the box. Relationship woes? Come to the box. Too many tamales? Come to the box. “Joining Movement Society was probably one of the decisions I made. I started with the 6-week transformation program and upon completion joined the monthly membership. All trainers (Toddy is awesome) are fantastic, but I would love to give a shout out to Germaine. He is absolutely awesome. He is patient. Focuses on the form, pace, and weight. He pushes and encourages you to push yourself without being pushy. His stability classes are amazing too. Highly recommend joining this gym (Steven is a good dude and super helpful). “I had taken advantage of Whittier Zero Givens guest pass. It took only one session to convince me that I had to join. Prior to that I had a running and workout routine (at home), which had gone stale. I needed a change. I found what I was looking for. I love the variety of equipment, various style of workouts and everyone made me feel welcomed. They're my gym family. They offer encouragement and guidance. Can't get that from working out by myself at home. They offer challenges to keep you on your toes and take you to the next level of your fitness journey..

“I have been going to Carina’s for 3 years now. My session is an hour and starts with 10 minutes of cardio, followed by core, then arms/legs etc. A few people come in every half hour and so there ends up being around 3-6 people working out at any given time. But she prescribes different exercises for each person based on your individual strength and needs. I started going here toward the end of the pandemic because she diligently wipes down all the machine after each person uses it. One of the best things about Carina’s is she creates a very friendly and social environment. It’s the reason I have been so consistent about my two times per week! Everyone enjoys talking to each other and I look forward to catching up with my new friends all the time! She offers sessions Mon/Wed evenings and most mornings.”
