“Well what a super fun place to stop after a near by hike. I had been here pre-pandemic days and forgot about it until we did a hike over in Tennessee Valley. It is the MOST adorable inn and restaurant. Has a dog friendly patio and lawn (either of which you can get food and drink service) and the food and drinks are tasty!! Worth a day spent hiking in or around Tennessee valley, followed by a post-hike beer and delish meal. If it is a sunny day, expect to wait. If it is cloudy and closer to the second half of the day, likely the wait (if any) will be short!”

“We had a wonderful stay here! Excellent location over the water, near the ferry and shops; room was extremely comfortable and with a great view of the bay; delicious breakfast delivered in the room; very attentive service that made sure we had a perfect weekend.”

“I recently stayed two nights at Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley for my friend’s 40th birthday, and I can honestly say the service was some of the best I’ve experienced. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely accommodating. They went out of their way to make our celebration special.

One of the highlights for me was how they handled a last-minute request. I had planned to gift my friend a yoga and sound bath session, but the wind outside was intense. Without hesitation, the team quickly pulled together to let us use an indoor space, something they absolutely didn’t have to do, but did with so much kindness. It made all the difference.

I didn’t catch everyone’s name (I wish I had, because they were all so great), but I want to give a special shoutout to Phron, Pedro, Margey, and Jeremy for being especially helpful and welcoming.

The hotel itself was also such a gem: a full breakfast was included with our stay, and each evening they offered complimentary wine and cheese (plus delicious cookies!). The room and common areas were very clean, which is always a top priority for me.

Another unexpected treat was the location. It’s just outside the bustle of San Francisco, so you get the peaceful vibe of Mill Valley, while still being close enough for easy day trips into the city. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby too. I don’t normally hike, but I really enjoyed the Mount Tamalpais trail with its breathtaking views. Bonus: it was even wheelchair accessible.

I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Acqua Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly, and well-located place to stay just outside SF. Thank you everyone!!”

“The Marina Hotel is GORGEOUS. I love how the entire courtyard is surrounded by beautiful greenery and pretty things that fly, seeming as if the hotel is in the midst of being overtaken by nature.”

“Really great spot! Excellent location and quiet hotel. We were in town for an audition and the staff was really accommodating with giving us an extra quiet room and allowing late check-out. The garden is lovely! Super friendly staff and comfortable rooms. It's an older building, so there are some quirks that come along with that, but it adds charm!”

“An unforgettable stay!
The location, right in the middle of the park with Golden Gate views is absolutely spectacular. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotless, and peaceful. Staff are warm and welcoming. We loved the healthy breakfast, the cozy wine & cheese hour, and the all-day coffee & tea station. Truly a hidden gem in San Francisco! ??”

“I've lived in Marin County for 40 years but have never spent any meaningful time at Stinson Beach. I stayed at the Sandpiper Lodge for two nights in November. What a great spot! The room and kitchenette were fabulous. Sandpiper Lodging at the Beach offers the perfect proximity to all that Stinson has to offer. I will be back!”

“An old motel that has been lovingly turned into a great place to stay in Marin County. Near everything. Great coffee and muffins for free breakfast. Great cleaning every day if you want. Easy Parking. Friendly caretakers. Watch for switch controlled electric plugs, first night we did not charge our phones because of that. We will come back.”

“West Point Inn has a very rustic and welcoming feel. The Innkeepers are awesome! Especially Kathy, Janice, Bob, Karl, Pat and David. There is a new Innkeeper Kathy who is awesome! All the Innkeepers are there to help you with vast amounts of really useful information. They are all very familiar with the numerous trails that stretch out all over Mount Tamalpais, they can make great recommendations for loop hikes, long hikes, short hikes and everything in-between. The Inn does not have heating, so if you're staying overnight bring a sleeping bag. There is an incredibly well stocked kitchen where you can prepare meals, make coffee/tea, etc;
The outside deck is a fantastic spot to have lunch while taking in the beautiful panoramic views. West Point Inn is a local gem ? ?
I highly recommend this business”

“Our stay couldn’t have been better. I wish I could remember the front desk staff member’s name, but we had just hiked Muir Woods and were so exhausted that it slipped my mind. She was so pleasant and helpful. She provided us information on all the amenities the Inn provided along with a wide variety of restaurant recommendations.

The location is super convenient with free parking and is in walking distance to everything from shops, restaurants, groceries, and even a theatre. They also have bicycles available upon request.

We stayed in Cottage 1 which did not disappoint. It was spacious, airy, and perfect for relaxation. The only negative we experienced was the sound of suitcase wheels against the wooden pathway from fellow guests that were going to or from their rooms. It was quite a noise but very temporary.

Overall, Mill Valley Inn is perfect for couples, solo travelers, or anyone seeking a peaceful and luxurious getaway in the heart of Mill Valley.”

“Loved it here. Comfy and clean room, great location right by the Lombard & Filmore bus stop.
The staff was super nice, they even let us store our luggage after check out. And great value for the money!”

“Super! This place is perfect. It’s just the right amount of everything. The cleaners are super lovely. All the self check in is very smooth. We would definitely recommend this place to others. Clean, cozy, to the point and enjoyable ❤️”

“Love this motel! Stayed here with my family and was impressed by the spacious and clean rooms. The location was also great, with breakfast/coffee a few blocks away. The front desk was friendly and helpful. We will definitely book again.”

“Stayed here for one evening as it was centrally located to an appointment. The service was so kind and they have everything I need. The room and bed were comfortable, the bathroom amenities were nice, and it was quiet during the evening. I'm very appreciative to the front desk staff who assisted me - they offered things I needed and made a photocopy for me. The lounge next door was perfect when I just wanted to relax and get a quick bite. Will stay here again.”

“Thank you, I loved this place back in the day and will be visiting soon

This review is twenty years old!
I used to stay there 5 days a week. When it was $50 a day, I'm sure things are changed. Reading that a burrito and a salad of forty dollars, but it is Marin County and it is Northern California's hidden gem. Do they still rip down the street signs to keep people from finding out where you are?

We do pay the sunshine tax and it looks like the rooms are a lot more expensive since 2004!”

“Went here for my wife's bday and enjoyed it so much, we went back 2 weeks later, for my bday. The pool was large and lovely! Basketball was fun as well. As for the room, we got the Jacuzzi room, each time. Its a weird layout, but it's workable. Had my brother meet us at the poop for my bday and when it was shower, it was tough cause the shower is in the room in the open. So if you have guests over, they gotta wait outside till you're done. we always stay at Best Western cause they are pet friendly...”

“We loved this nicely maintained historic hotel. It's conveniently located right downtown and beside the ferry terminal if you want to hop an easy ride over to SF, which we did (only a 30 min ride). The rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. Ours had a terrific view of the waterfront. Hotel has an elevator, an item often missed not in vintage lodging. Highly recommend this location.”

“This is an older property, but it is quite well maintained. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and offered excellent suggestions for touring. The bar offers a very good menu with a large variety of eats from snacks to meals - everything we tried was good. This is a great place with easy access to the Ferry to get a quick ride straight to the San Francisco waterfront. Access to main highways is easy as well. The main annoyance we had was having to pay for parking for an open, unsecured parking lot (this is a money grab by the hotel) While we would consider staying here again, the irritation of the pay for parking would be enough to make us look elsewhere.”

“Is the most beautiful places I’ve stayed at. The view of the Golden Gate the biking and the electric bikes they let you use were and added plus so much fun and such beautiful terrain so much history to this hotel absolutely recommended I go back in a minute”

“Lovely vintage hotel situated on busy Lombard Ave. Not too far away from the Golden Gate, Yoda Fountain, and Haight Ashbury. The rooms are very clean and the parking is super convenient. Lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance as well as public transportation. Across the street is a fun country bar called Jaxson and a good Mexican restaurant called Las Katrinas. The lobby is vintage woodwork.”

“We stayed here 3 nights for a staycation for Spring Break. Yes, even pre-schoolers get Spring Break, LOL! Overall a family friendly, clean, and comfortable stay. The Lodge is a 3-level motel-style facility with lots of big rooms and covered walkways on each level. It is located on the main road in Tiburon so super convenient walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Things we liked most: 1. Two comfy queen beds - everyone slept well for 3 nights. 2. Great breakfast restaurant attached to the lodge - Tiburon Tavern (separate Yelp review pending) 3. Attentive service - my 3yo son accidentally knocked my phone behind the heavy TV stand, which seems to be bolted to the carpet. They sent someone to our room with a metal rod which helped fish my phone back. They also fixed the elevator lighting after a day - before it was flickering and scary like in a horror movie. 4. Plentiful parking in the lot and free (no need to enter/leave with ticket through the gate). Areas for Improvement (most minor): 1. The gym is super tiny with just 3 ellipticals I think. a bench and set of dumbbells would have been nice! 2. I don't recall any free coffee in the lobby, but I did see hot water dispensers for tea. 3. The Lodge is a bit dated but everything is functional. Maybe future updates could be a room thermostat and maybe updated carpeting. 4. Our shampoo dispenser also didn't work well so we had to twist the nozzle and squeeze hard.”

“We enjoyed our stay here this past weekend. The motel was quiet and cozy just a few blocks away from the beach where you can walk to see the sunsets in the evening. Lots of restaurants nearby and right next to the N Train Muni.I realize that there isn't much management can do about the sound of the train, but it is really loud. I guess for us it wasn't all too bad because we were towards on the of the rooms in the back of the motel. The heater is really loud, as well as the small refrigerator. Took us a night or two to get used to the sounds. =)Check-in was a breeze. The bathroom window in room 21 needs some extra cleaning. If you're going to stay here, bring your shampoo and soap, they do provide some, but they are tiny tiny.Thank youxoWalkability: Lots of local shops to walk to, or take the N train upwards to explore more.Noteworthy details: Remember, this isn't your top of the line type of motel, its reasonably priced, though, that's for sure.”

“I give this hotel 5 stars for the following reasons
- price for the location
- the hotel was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
- the staff were accommodating to our needs for a second parking spot.

Yes the motel is close to the freeway (aren't many of them?) and there is freeway noise, but the motel construction dampened some of the noise and it quietened down at night. I am a light sleeper, and used earplugs, and a sound machine on my phone, and was fine.
I particularly liked the clean, white cotton covers to the bed. They were so much nicer than the likely unwashed dingy colored covers you get at similar motels.”

“We arrived at 10pm and left at 9am. The check in was easy and pleasant. It’s not a 4 star place but it was clean, beds comfy, and simple. Didn’t have a hair dryer but I knew that going in. It’s a good location but is next to a freeway.”

“The rooms are nice but ours smelled like urine. Also there's a bathroom window you can see in. The staff was really nice and it was a good stay in a pinch. We needed a place last minute and it did the trick. They were also very accommodating to us as we needed a late checkout.”

“The inn is quiet and peaceful despite being on the Main Street of downtown San Anselmo and having a restaurant attached to it.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet.

You want to spend time in the rooms, the public areas, and the outdoor courtyard.

The continental breakfast is deluxe. With organic and healthy options.”
