“My mother's Hokehankist/Requiem - 40th Day is on Sunday, August 10th, so two days ago, my daughter and I decided to visit Safeway in Orinda. Last time, I wasn't feeling well and waited for my daughter in the car while she was shopping. Thank God, this time, I was feeling well, and I went inside the store, which felt so good. It was nice and cool. This is a very popular Safeway, I thought to myself since it was packed. We headed toward the fruit section first since that is what it was recommended to bring for the coffee hour after Church Service this Sunday. The ? cherries were packed in plastic bags already, and we selected a couple of them, We next selected the best of the cantaloupe and the plums. These were for Mother's Requiem. We completed our shopping by getting the bananas for us, in addition to the tomatoes, garlic, and onions, which are a must when cooking. This Safeway is smaller than the El Cerrito Del Norte Safeway, but it seems that lately, we've been in a rush and not having enough time to go in each aisle to check all the goodies. We'll definitely visit again. By the way, we tasted a couple of the cherries when we got home, and they were delicious. We will find out how tasteful the plums and the cantaloupe are once they are cut and presented at the Church's Social Hall on Sunday after the Worship Service.
