“Five stars for the Mill Valley Inn at 165 Throckmorton Avenue in downtown Mill Valley. We stayed the night of May 31 and it was everything you want from a small inn in Marin County—charming, impeccably kept, and steps from the heart of the village. Our room was clean and quiet with a balcony looking into the trees, and the little touches set the place apart: a complimentary wine-and-cheese hour in the evening and a generous breakfast in the morning, both included. The staff were warm and attentive without hovering. What makes the Mill Valley Inn special is the location: you can walk out the door to the shops, cafes, and bookstores of downtown Mill Valley—we strolled to The Depot on the plaza—and you're a short drive from Muir Woods, Sausalito, and San Francisco. It's the rare hotel that works equally well for a romantic weekend, a wedding stay, or a quiet base for exploring the redwoods. “Wonderful breath of fresh air. The views, facilities and relaxation is so close to home, yet, first time for me. We enjoyed the trip immensely. The Park Ranger told many stories and enjoyed our wine and cheese. The rustic setting that sits atop the mountain was amazing. The kitchen was vast. Dining experience just delightful. The very best part of it was following morning waking up to fresh coffee and looking out over all those clouds moving so quickly - the downtown San Francisco skyline peeking up from the white powdery fluffy goodness. Fantastic.”
“Excellent vegan options and great service! Mole tofu and vegan chorizo tasted fresh, and the heirloom corn tortillas are better than most Mexican restaurants in the US. Definitely worth a visit if you'd like to see a quaint coastal town and get a great meal with great drinks!”

Courtyard Marriott hotel in Novato CA is wonderful and I am giving it a thumbs up review and here's why;
The hotel rooms are a great value offering a good balance of luxury and affordability at a excellent Price Point .
Being Situated close to the Major Highway 101 and Highway 37 we are able to make plans for entertainment and outdoor activities and visit with the local history museum of the Hamilton AFB
I recommend taking a bike ride or nice hike along the Bay Trail, it's an easy walk just minutes from the Airport Hangers and all of the trail is wheelchair accessible so we can safely say that you and your group will enjoy the expansive views of this estuary area that's been restored and is home now to many birds , mammals, reptile and amphibians.
If you are arriving from out of town for your stay, the Marin Airporter makes pickup and drop off at the San Francisco airport and the other public transportation option is Golden Gate Transit and Marin Transit bus stops very close to the Courtyard Marriott in Novato CA.
Safeway and the shopping mall adjacent to the hotel offer additional options for dinning in or for dinning picknik.”

“Close to center of village. Comfortable, cozy room and amenities. Outstanding, friendly, helpful people. All good. What really stands out is a few small details. The soap/shampoo/cream was Italian Blood Orange smell that was amazing. Towels were thicker and softer the expected. Clearly the folks behind this inn are engaged in guests' great experience!”

“This place pleasantly surprised me. It's next to a little pond that my son liked to skip rocks on and the area itself isn't too poorly maintained. The room had a jacuzzi tub, it was clean, and it smelled nice. The staff were friendly and we had no issues. There is also a really good Indian restaurant right next door.”

“First off, I travel on my own dime. OFTEN. So, I'm always looking for the best deal in the area. That's resulted in some pretty questionable stays in sketchy places. When I saw the 3.8 average on this place and read some of the negative reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Color me surprised.
Is this the best hotel (really a motel) in the area? No. Is it decent? Yes! I've stayed in far, FAR worse with better reviews. Maybe the Karen's were just off that day.
For a Tuesday night, the rate I got was $110 a night. For a place near the Bay area, you can't beat that. Location was a bit odd, very close to the freeway and tucked away amongst other businesses. Google does a good job of getting you there.
NOTE: DO NOT unpack your bags for check-in. More than likely, you'll be in a room around the back. Motel-style, can park right in front of your room. Zero stairs to climb.
Check-in was no nonsense. Easy. Drove around back and parked. Safe parking around back with plenty of pull-through spots for trailers.
First impression of the room.....it's a motel. For a motel, its one of the nicest rooms I've ever had. MASSIVE TV. Has a small fridge. Table with chair for getting work done. Decent sized bathroom. Old closet nook has been turned into a coffee station. Large wardrobe. Wood laminate floors, newer furniture, paint and appointments were nice. Bedtime was a little weird, sharp wood that stuck out beyond the edge of the mattress. Can see people knocking knees and shins on it during the night. I was aware of it, so wasn't an issue.
The bed......was surprisingly comfy. So were the pillows. I've had some really nice rooms and got terrible sleep because the bed and pillows suck. Got GREAT sleep here.
AC worked great. Shower was hot with good pressure. Room was clean.
The ONLY gripes I have....the window needs actual black-out curtains. The lights outside my windows were bright, easily bypassed the blinds. Room was well lit all night. Second, the TV has literally two channels. That wasn't an issue, as it also has YouTube and Netflix. Last, the bathroom only had one large towel, one medium, and one washcloth. Didn't have a towel or mat for the floor....and it was quite slippery when wet. Make sure to ask for extra towels at check-in.
Overall, this place is easily a 4.3 on my personal average scale. One star reviews are typically coming from people who stay at Marriott properties and have higher expectations. If you expect a motel that's easily better than Motel 6, you'll be plenty happy.”

“We were nervous because of some of the reviews, but we were comfortable here for one night! Good price, in walking distance of the wedding venue we were going to, clean room, easy check-in. The bed was decent, pillows were a bit lumpy but comfortable enough, the shower water pressure was insanely high but that's fine. Thanks for having us!”

“A genuinely lovely stay in San Anselmo.
The hosts were gracious, the setting was quiet, and everything was impeccably clean. The room was comfortable in every practical way — perfect temperature control, cozy bed and pillows, and great lighting options. The artwork gives the space personality without clutter.
The back patio is charming and peaceful, and the breakfast room is beautifully light-filled, which makes mornings especially pleasant.
Breakfast was outstanding — a European-style spread every day with fresh pastries, yogurt, berries, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, and very good coffee.
Would absolutely return.”
