“The line can sometimes be long and there’s usually just the one lady working. She’s very nice, though. Parking is impossible, I gotta hike in. No self-kiosk machine either, which is a nice touch in other post offices.”
“An amazing USPS branch! The staff works like gods! They are open on Saturdays and treat customers with great respect. This place deserves 5 stars. A truly authentic American spot! This is a very authentic place, and the employee at the mail counter is wonderful—it's just like a museum! ?”
“I don’t know why they won’t save the hours on here—it is so annoying to look it up over and over. I uploaded it yesterday for counter hours but someone deleted them so I am reposting it like this.
I have only had one issue where they accidentally gave one of my packages to someone else. They were able to track that person and they were nice enough to give it back.
It is kind of weird, they used to have a phone number for the location, but they took that down too. It makes me wonder who doesn’t want to deal with the extra customer service lol! Can’t blame them, but it is just unusual compared to the other post offices in the area. I’ve been to San Bruno, San Mateo, the Geary post, Burlingame, etc, and this is the only one that keeps deleting info you can find online so it’s inconvenient when you need to check if you’re going to make it on time using Google maps.
Like most usps-they are closed holidays and Sundays.”
“For starters some individuals should honestly keep their prissy, bigotry, and zealous “Opinions” to themselves. 1st. Everyone knows Postal workers are dedicated Govt. employees that connect us all to and from people and parcels. 2nd. Awareness of your surroundings? You are downtown at Civic Center (one of the largest transit terminals in the Bay Area), and complaining that you’re 14th in-line @ 4:00pm on a “FRIDAY” with 1 worker present. Screams ignorance, and lacking a key virtue Patience… Post St opens till 6pm + China Town are also
open on Saturdays for convenience. I’m here weekly, random time and day, the office is perfectly fine, the surrounding (Fox plaza owned) building is aged. The staff takes care of all customers in the lobby even being the 20th in line. They’re customer service driven all the while being helpful and friendly.”
“If you enjoy going to the post office you're insane. But this one isn't bad. I've been here several times and each time the employees may not be the kindest, but they're always efficient and helpful. I've seen them handle angry customers with calm and courtesy, and I've seen them be very helpful, e.g. provide information to save customers money on shipping.”
“Cute little post office, very friendly staff. Large lobby with abundant priority post & other supplies in addition to a few tables to prepare your packages and letters for shipment. There was no wait during my visit. I also want to add that my priority package arrived a day earlier than expected. Thanks for a great experience!”
“My passport expired and was lost in my move from HI to SF. And I'm lazy and need my hand held. I made an appointment online for all the things- passport, picture, etc. When I arrived there was a bunch of people waiting in line for shipping packages. Once I got to the front, the super kind lady brought me through the side door to take my picture. She took a few snaps, asked me which one was best? I told her they all look the same. She went over my paperwork, had me make a few changes, additions, photocopied all the things (extra charge) and with the swipe of my debit card for $184.55, I was on my way. My passport arrived two weeks later. . . before my birth certificate. It was the most painless process ever and worth every penny. Here's the breakdown of pricing- USPS Passport Fee- $35 Photo Service- $15 Money Order- $130 Money Order Fee- $2.55 Copy Machine- $2”
“Your associate, Mike, is the best of all your agents. He is knowledgeable, professional , kind and courteous. He is always helpful and goes above and beyond attending to your mail & postage concerns and properly guides you all the way.”

“Warning you will need to go through security on the south side (if you come from the north, they’ll make you walk around outside). It’s located in the basement. Another warning is that there is no signal (or Wi-Fi) bc it’s in the basement, so if you need a QR code, take a screenshot of it beforehand.Celipe (I may have gotten the name kind of wrong, but he’s an older gentleman), was very friendly and helpful. There was no wait either! I was in and out in minutes!”
“The two men there on a Saturday were awesome and super helpful ! We sent birthday packages to family and they helped us determine best/cheapest mailing boxes. Great experience”

“Saturday morning with little wait.
Quality, friendly, and efficient postal service. The man working the front counter will answer your questions and even make sure you have everything else needed.”
“Generally a very good post office that takes care of lines quickly (mostly because we gays are always on the go and know what we want) and there is a lot of self-service supplies available as opposed to some city post offices where almost everything is locked up or depleted.
My only complaint is the lack of empathy for older clientele who struggle with computers. My client wanted to renew his PO Box and pay for another 6 months and the lady at the counter just kept repeating "ITS PAID TIL SEPTEMBER! GO TO THE WEBSITE!" Well, that's only 2 months away and the rate is $108/6 mo. Why can't we pay for his extension now? And I said probably three times that he gets frustrated using their website. He has renewed this way dozens of times including a few months ago. She could've made our lives a lot easier by processing a basic renewal.”
“Jennifer is a real gem ? for this location! I have always come here but not often seen a very lively staff like Jennifer! She is great, friendly, knowledgeable and calm despite being the only one on the floor! Thank you for bringing this energy to this location!!! ?”

“Like most post offices, they're understaffed, but if you go in the off times it's usually quick. Very conveniently located and the staff couldn't be nicer and more personable.”
“Usually I have awful slow experiences at the post office but this one was surprisingly great! Darcy was so pleasant and friendly and the line was short and moved fast for my quick return drop off and stamp purchase. Thanks Darcy!”
“I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.”
“Went there to pay for and mail a letter on a weekday afternoon. It was easy and quick to accomplish even though only 1 or the 7 clerk stations were open. It only took 7 minutes.”
“Good USPS conveniently located in the flat part of Bernal Heights near the Mission. It's a small post office, but it has everything I needed. There was sometimes a long line during busy periods, but the staff work to get everyone through at a reasonable pace.”
“It’s a great-looking post office, clearly meant for sending and receiving packages to and from Italy exclusively. In that spirit, it serves as a kind of Italian embassy — offering goodwill through the occasional spaghetti and meatball handout. It’s strewn with Godfather posters and, of course, accepts cannoli as payment.
When Silvio passed away, they flew the Italian flag at half-staff.”

“I've seen only Hispanic gentlemen works in this location. The.ways his communication seems too harsh sometimes, especially if you have language barrier or no knowledge about basic U.S. portal rules( I was both) It seems his patience is not long HOWEVER, more than his not long patience, He is knowledgeable, resourceful and he is definitely reliable.
**MAKE SURE organize your thoughts and questions before you ask something to him or he would be moody. Lol”
“Coming to the post office to ship all my boxes for my move was such a wonderful experience. thank you to Teresa for her wonderful customer service and joyful energy”
“Cute, convenient post office with excellent customer service!!!
Judy is ???????
I just registered a PO Box online, and Judy was very patient and kind in providing me all of the information such as what mailing addresses to use for mail vs UPS/Fedex as well as hours. She also provided me a form to do mail forwarding for my other PO Box.
There is no self-service kiosk here. That said, I actually do all of my quickship labels via their website anyway.”
“My 5starts are for the front desk at the office.
Super helpful. When I was there inquiring a delayed delivery, she followed up over the phone and made sure it was delivered to me.”
“The Diamond Heights Post Office is fantastic with a chill vibe! It is super clean, organized, and has PO boxes, passport services, and all the usual postal stuff. The staff, especially Victoria, is amazingly professional and courteous. The post office has super cheap rates for international priority shipments. Who knew!”
“I visited the Sutter post office today 2 October 2025 and I was provided with the best customer service from what appears on my receipt as Clerk number 4. I believe the person's name was Brian. He assisted with kindness and Professionalism in answering my questions and filling out a required Form I needed. It's a breath of fresh air when you get friendly customer support.”

“Went to get money order at general delivery box to report lost passport was expensive to replace but understood why ty I always trust what G'ma called USPS(snail mail) please and ty you guys do a great job thank you for all of your help?”
“This is not an easy station. Customers can be difficult & although the neighborhood is changing, it is still rough. Clerks do the best they can & are overworked. Carriers have a high turnover rate or leave for shorter routes in other stations.
I need this post office to remain open. It is a lifeline for many of us in the Bayview/Hunterpoint area! It starts from the top & the post office as an entire structure needs a re-org (in my humble opinion).”
“This is my favorite post office. I find the staff are totally professional. Their hours are excellent. The self-serve kiosk is always working, and the lady who accepts the packages at the counter is amazingly efficient and responsive. My only problem with this location is it’s hard to access on public transportation, which is not the USPS’s problem, but since the West Portal station is going to be closed for so long due to the fire there, I wish the postmaster would go to bat with MUNI over re-routing some buses to Lakeshore Plaza.”
“The owner, Z, is incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. I’ve used their Live Scan fingerprinting service, and the whole process was smooth and convenient.
One of the best things about this location is that you can drop off USPS, UPS, and FedEx packages all in one place. It saves so much time not having to go to multiple locations. While I haven’t personally used their other services, I believe they also offer document printing and passport photos.
Overall, excellent customer service. Highly recommend!”
