“I’ve been here now four times and Matt is, by far, the greatest associate I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with at any storefront in a long time. There’s never any pressure to purchase (although I’ve bought three of my four visits), he’s extremely knowledgeable, friendly and willing to shoot the shit. I love visiting Dainese over cycle gear because the employees are always well versed on the specific brand products (fit, features, performance etc). San Francisco is so lucky to have this gem of a store, and Dainese - pretty please - make sure you take care of Matt.”

He did whatever he could to find the best fit for my personal running habits and walking me through the different options, as well as letting me try jogging in each one. “Decided to take the plunge (well many plunges) and learn to wing foil. Matt was an awesome instructor for my first lesson. I was hooked. The next day, I met with Jane to buy gear. She was very patient ( as I barely knew which end was up ) and made recommendations for an appropriate board and wing for my size. Again, she remained very patient as she walked me through the set up and inflation process. We were rewarded at the end of our session with a beautiful onshore wind and we were both able to get out on the water. (Well, I was more in than on). There is nothing that can compare to the personal service provided by Boardsports California. As I progress, and my equipment needs change, I will be consulting with Boardsports (by phone , chat or Zoom) since I’m not local to the Bay Area) . They are experts on the water and experts in passing their knowledge to their customers.”

“I cannot say better words about this place. I’ve been shopping at this store since 2009 and I’ve never been disappointed. I try to go there every time I’m in the City. The guys are fantastic, super nice and personable. I live in the Midwest so I’m only in the City once every few years but it’s a must on my list. Was in the City this past weekend for my bday. Was shopping there and was talking with the owner’s son? He was super nice and offered to find my shirt size off the rack hanging from the wall. I had no problem looking for my size myself but he insisted. I mentioned that I like to frequent the store when I’m in town and how I lived in the neighborhood several years ago. That started a conversation about how the neighborhood was then and how it is today. I also told him about some shirts I had bought in the past and he knew the ones I was speaking of. I had some questions about pricing and he was very helpful. Set me up with the tshirts I was wanting to purchase and even threw in a free sticker! I love this store!! I’ve been disappointed with this store and its employees.”

Despite coming in a little late, Eric (sp?) helped me out with the bike fitting, and I was pleasantly surprised when the store had one remaining bicycle in inventory, which Eric helped to prepare by installing the lights and U-lock and checking to make sure it was in suitable condition for me to ride home. “I had a complicated double overcharge issue AND the credit card used to make the contested purchase had been hacked. Even so, I got a very quick resolution to my problem - a refund with no argument. It helped that I brought all pertinent receipts, as well as both the original credit card, its replacement and a copy of the credit card statement showing the overcharges. Both the documentation and an intelligent staff member willing to be helpful were key to happy results.”
