“Alicia is the heart and soul of her amazing store, Land of the Sun. It’s one of the few original businesses from the peace and love Haight Ashbury scene of the 60s and 70s. I love all the merchandise she offers, especially my mushroom bell bottoms, Alice in Wonderland vintage t-shirt, the Grateful Dead t-shirts, stickers and patches. Every time my husband and I visit San Francisco, we make a homage to the Haight, and we definitely make a stop into Alicia’s wonderland to soak in the positive vibes and creativity that she radiates. “I can't say enough good things about this skate shop. We found them on Google ahead of our trip from Louisiana. They did not disappoint. The boards are good quality and affordable. Mike was professional and super friendly. I didn't catch the other workers name, but he was great as well. He helped my son pick out the perfect board, and Mike put it together. Customer service was top-tier, and if we are ever in the area again, we would definitely swing by. Don't forget to get a cool pic with your new board on the way out. Oh, FYI, there is a skate park within walking distance of this place.”

“Isso is a neighborhood staple! Despite the proximity to Valencia and Dolores, Isso manages to have affordable pieces. Many of the clothes are sourced and hand tailored to make original garments, or are otherwise lovely vintage pieces. I’ve gotten 2 pairs of jeans/ trouser from here - both were under $20 and are two of the most complimented pieces in my wardrobe! Super unique, chic, sustainable place to shop :)”

“I had an amazing experience dealing with this store online. I was able to find a Max Mara coat I was scouring the internet for, and it was sold out everywhere except here! I even called Max Mara and they told me they would not be able to get it in until next Fall season, so I was super excited to see it in my size. “This is the last classic maritime store in the Fisherman's Wharf area. While everywhere else seems to have become a t-shirt shop, Frank's Fisherman sells authentic nautical items. Like a cool museum inside with a vast number of exciting items to browse. Also, lots of books, antiques, high end clothing are on display. A must stop shopping experience for real sailors, or anyone who is interested in the sea going lifestyle.”

I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for at first but Samson walked me through all the components of the design including, the sartorial cues of the garment, the fabric, how it will wear over time, and a lot more. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and a great guy to walk through all your ideas for your ideal bespoke garment. Looking forward to my next commission with him!”
