“My go-to surplus store. I've made it a point to drop by every couple of months to see what's new.
A lot of stock tends to sit for a bit and doesn't seem to get marked down, so if you're in the market for a specific article, double check what it's going for online.
However, they tend to get more unique uniforms and equipment than just your standard USGI kit. But whatever your fancy, be it airsoft, collection, or reenactment, you may just find what you need here.
On top of that, it's also a large workwear store. You can find a lot of popular brands in multiple sizes and variance to fit your scope of work.
The staff are great too. They'll let you know if a certain item isn't eligible for return and are more than happy to help you find the right fit for your gear.”
“It was cool. Downside though, I waited in line to purchase ammo for literally 3hrs no lie June 30th the day before the tax increase just to be told I couldn't buy any with just my firearms license and drivers license. Even though I own guns, go to tue fun range and have bought ammo before with just my license and firearms license. She said that's a san jose rule but idk just a heads up”
“The best REI in the South Bay—and the only one I shop at! The staff here are always friendly and patient, which makes every visit a good experience. The only improvement I can think of that will improve customer experience is to display more shoes in popular sizes, so customers can try them on and decide whether or not to buy without having to look for a staff member to try on shoes their size. Hiking and running are extremely popular activities in South Bay and on some weekends the shoe department is packed with people and staff members can look pretty stressed out.
They carry a wide selection of clothing and gear for hiking and camping, so I can almost always find what I need. Best of all, their return policy is consistent with REI’s guidelines, so I never have to worry about unexpected rules or hassles when making a return or exchange. Keep up the great work!”

“Quite possibly the best buying experience I have ever had. I first walked in here recently to find my wedding suit - Jim was the first person to come up to me and led me to this beautiful blue suit. After viewing a few others I knew the first suit he picked was perfect for me. That day I didn't buy that suit because I wanted to see what alternatives were out there. There's a lot of good suit places in San Jose, but nothing quite like Eli Thomas.. Jim and his staff were so friendly and attentive and know exactly how your suit should look. I ended up coming back to see if I can order that exact suit, which at the time wasn't in my size. To my amazement Jim had the right sized suit ordered, shortly after my first visit, and it arrived the time I came in. Jim is a very confident sales man, and rightfully so.. it shows in the level of rapport and trust. Highly recommend buying your next suit from this store - my suit looks excellent!”

“This was my first time visiting Japantown and found this great store with so many Japanese items. Arlene, the owner, showed us how to fold origami hats that can be used as bookmarks. I was curious about how a kimono is worn and Miko spent time dressing me in a kimono and explaining each step. There was another lady there that was nice. I came out with knowledge about the kimono and Japanese style and with a beautiful tsuzumi pillow. I highly recommend this gem of a store!”
“The customer experience for me has been nothing but great every time I went to games. Yes, they do charge a $10 shipping fee but that is nothing to lose sleep over. It's nice they ship at a faster rate as well. Some of the merch is questionable but overall not bad.”

“I went there to repair my Preeti Mixie and also bought a lid for my Mixie jar. The total cost was $25 ($10 for the lid and $15 for the repair). The service was quick—max 10 minutes. It’s a great place with excellent service. I definitely recommend it for repairs and for buying Indian mixies and wet grinders. The owner was friendly and courteous”

“I got a snap-back from my GodSon, for my birthday, earlier this year and preferred a fitted. Raymond helped me and had no issue with me exchanging the snap-back for a fitted. Got a new Lid and I'm good to go. I appreciate the willingness to allow an exchange a little late and Raymond had impeccable customer service. I highly recommend this location.”

They stayed open when all the power was out a couple weeks ago to make sure the neighborhood at lanterns, flashlights, batteries, and cooking stuff. The store had no power either but they took us one by one to find what we needed.

I'll rate for both I guess Hadn't had much time to pay attention to sports since I was 10 so I always assumed stores like these would've gone bankrupt and closed by now. like... do people go to Lids to buy 10+ colors of the same SF cap still .. and keep the visor straight with all the stickers on it? Anyway, got a good selection of merch for bay area and LA teams for the irrational h8eRz to snub in the South Bay. Didn't think they'd have GIANTS replicas with the 2012 WS patches a week out but they did. Close to price on MLB's online shop w/ authentic branding too. Might come back for a Posey”

“Didn’t expect to walk into this place and get hyped, but here we are. YETI makes tough gear and this location showcases it well. Coolers, tumblers, bags, all in different colors and setups. Great for anyone who camps, hikes, or just likes to keep drinks cold for 12 hours straight. I grabbed a Rambler and the cashier talked me into a lid upgrade I didn’t even know I needed. Solid service and the stuff here really lasts.”
“I went for a tube for my fixie, needed 700 series the staff help me find what I was looking for. But what I really liked was a person ahead of me in line was having trouble with a coupon on her phone we've all been there but the cashier was nice and helpful and together they scanned the coupon...
I'm not sure of her name but that was good costumer service .. something a lot of stores are forgetting about!!!!”

“I'm very impressed. They have jackets and shirts and pants and even some shoes but mainly bag, bags, and more bags. They have a wall full of Kanken bags in every color, it looks like a giant watercolor palette.I picked out the bag I wanted, the Raven 28, in a few minutes and then looked at all the other little bags they have - they have a lot!Prices are .... well I'd say it's Santana Row but the prices are the same as they are online. And Fjallraven is "buy it for life" stuff.Service was tip-top and the people working there were very pleasant. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.”
