“We chose this space for our wedding in mid-June and I am soo incredibly happy we went with it. I used to go to this carousel as a child so the space was super sentimental for me.
It has such high ceilings and such a gorgeous lawn and indoor space for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and you can really do so much with it to transform it into the space of our dreams!!
All of this being said, there are some limitations you should be aware of if you decide to book your wedding here. They have a 12 hour rental period with a strict midnight cut off time for everyone (including vendors). There is also a strict time limit for how long and when people can be INSIDE the carousel house, which puts limits on the design pieces you can implement. I wish they allowed you to rent for a little longer (both earlier in the day and later into the night) and allowed vendors to be inside for the fulltime because I really feel like the space is so perfect for so many types of weddings and clients would totally be willing to pay the extra fee.
The park faces to a main road on one side and the Amtrak runs along the opposite side so there is the chance that the train or just people driving / biking / walking by will cause some noise during our wedding - none of which phased us!!”
“Both wine and beer are excellent. Be sure to try the pizza. I ordered the Margherita pizza. The dough was very crispy and chewy, and the tomato sauce was fresh and delicious.
The chicken wings were a little salty and sour, but the skin was very crispy and the meat was moist and delicious. I recommend eating it with ranch sauce. Next time, I'm going to try ordering a burger.”

“I recently stayed at the Kempinski Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara and there are certainly many positive aspects to mention. The location is fantastic, the staff are exceptionally friendly, and the room itself was clean and well-maintained. However, when it comes to the cost-to-value ratio, I was left feeling disappointed.
We booked the Juliette Balcony Suite, and I expected a premium experience given the price, which is on par with what you’d pay for a suite at a Four Seasons. Unfortunately, the suite did not live up to those expectations. The shower was outdated, with a hole in the handle that caused water to leak out. Both the couch and the bed were uncomfortable, making it difficult to relax and truly enjoy the room.
Additionally, during our stay, there seemed to be a wedding or corporate event almost every day. This meant the rooftop terrace, one of the hotel’s key attractions, was often occupied, limiting access to enjoy the views or the sunset in peace. It felt like we missed out on one of the main perks of the hotel because of this constant activity.
While the standard rooms may still be worth considering, I would not recommend booking the suite. For the price point, I expected much more in terms of comfort and overall experience.”
