“What a place!!! Right in the heart of Simsbury downtown. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and polite. I am a big Jacuzzi person, and this location had an indoor Jacuzzi that was just PERFECT....very clean, plenty of towels, and water temperature was nice and hot! Their cocktail lounge is a nice and cozy place on the 2nd floor, and my room was spotless!”

“We worked with Kelli to book our hotel block for our wedding. She was so great! She was very responsive and so nice. She made everything really easy. She accommodated our request to have two suites on the same floor. She was very helpful when coordinating with the staff to hand out hotel welcome bags for our guests. She was also a life saver because I hadn’t realized that the suites only had mini-fridges – I had assumed they came with a full-sized refrigerator and kitchen. That was my mistake. I had planned to store a bunch of food for the morning of the wedding in the fridges, but mini-fridges definitely were not conducive to that. Kelli worked something out with the chefs in the restaurants and we were able to store our food in their coolers.There was a slight issue on the morning of our wedding when the front desk staff and the restaurant staff could not locate where our food was stored. It was not ideal when I was on the phone on hold as they searched the coolers multiple times with no luck. They told me I would have to wait for Kelli to come in to get to the bottom of this. Luckily, Kelli was coming in about half an hour later. She saved the day and wheeled the food right up to my suite.She also coordinated with housekeeping to refresh our suites once we left for our wedding. When we came back at the end of the night, we were met with a nice surprise in our suite. They left us a bottle of prosecco, a handwritten note, a bed full of roses and a cute little design in folded towels. It was a nice touch to the end of our night!The suites we booked were great for getting ready the morning of our wedding. The rooms were nice, the beds were comfy, and bathrobes/slippers were also provided. The bathrooms were also very clean and very spacious. The water pressure in the shower was great! I also appreciated the staff bringing up extra soaps/towels when we called the front desk, especially because it was late at night both times we requested it. I will say we did find a couple of bugs in one of our suites – one was a ladybug and harmless, but the other was a weird looking bug I had never seen before (see picture).Overall, we had a great stay at this DoubleTree location and would recommend it to anyone. It’s in a great location and has restaurants and a sports bar on site with plenty of parking!”

If you like slow paced games there is chess or checkers for anyone. Ping pong and corn hole at the front and it is amazing. It can't get much better than this!!!”

“Clean room with above average bed comfort. Sheets were clean but worn, covered in bobbles. Bathroom in king room didn’t really have a vanity.Breakfast was about average for complimentary offerings but restocking was infrequent. Two of 4 hot food selections were not available throughout the time we ate.Even room numbers face the interstate and road drone is noticeable.”

“I would give this hotel a 3.5 or 4.0. I was worried based on several negative reviews which I read before staying here, but at least in my case the experience was decent. The hotel staff was nice and helpful, the room was as expected, perhaps a little run down but nothing alarming and the bed was fine. The only negative is that it isn't in the best area, and there seemed to be quite a few people milling about in the parking lot that weren't staying there, but I was assured that there are cameras and that my car would be safe. There was also a small gathering in the room next to mine which I was initially concerned about but it did not end up bothering me. One other point to note is that I believe this is a pet friendly hotel as I noticed an extremely small patch of grass for a relief area. Certainly not adequate for a dog of any size for more than a quick stop. All in all I think this is a decent hotel at a decent price - very conveniently located with easy parking. I would use it again - but might upgrade to the hotels a little further in town for location purposes.”
“Shameka was absolutely a life saver. Had an issue with the air conditioning unit. Was making a loud noise through out the night. I went down to the counter in the morning . Guess what they were right on it. Setting us up with a new room right away. Make the trip to Connecticut so much better. As for we are here on horrible reason for our family. They really handled the situation great and I thank you. Less stress better travel !! Thank you so much”

“The front desk was extremely kind. The hotel was a huge regret. We had been on the road for 4 days and needed somewhere comfy to stay. This was by far the worse hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The pictures are a JOKE! Let’s start with the bathroom, the floors are stained, the tub was dirty, the light in the room kept going on/off randomly, the sheets were dirty, the hotel overall is outdated. I feel horrible to bring my young kids here. I normally look out for reviews, but was so in a rush to rest I totally forgot to check out the reviews. PLEASE don’t give this place your money!! The front desk granted us with an extended late check out. We left before our 11am check out ?”
