“I stayed here for a few days and found it to be an incredibly comfortable and practical choice for a longer trip. The suite was very spacious, and having a full kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator made a huge difference, as I could easily store snacks and prepare quick meals. The room felt fresh and well-maintained, providing a quiet and relaxing environment that made it easy to get some rest. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and went out of their way to make sure everything was going well with my stay.”

“Wonderful historic inn in downtown Middletown. Exceptional staff and customer service. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel. The restaurant attached to the hotel was perfection, and the waitstaff was superb. Thank you to Lisa in the Tavern for a lively experience.
Note: waitstaff truly matters. Our waitstaff tonight was not attentive, and we were the only ones in the restaurant.”
“In January, 2026, My father and I stayed at the Simsbury Inn for 3 nights because we were in Ct for my dads brother’s memorial and we really enjoyed it. The Simsbury Inn was decorated very nicely and it was a beautiful, lively atmosphere. It was snowing a lot and it looked like a winter wonderland. The front desk staff, especially, Whitney, were super nice, friendly and helpful. Whitney really went out of her way to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. The cleaning staff and Inn caretakers, were also very nice and did an incredible job! The Inn passed my clean test and I am a retired house cleaner myself. It was easy to get to things from there too, 5mins-30mins. Don’t go through a third party like, Expedia, they don’t let you cancel, or change anything even if it’s right after making the reservations. It is best to go through the Inn directly. It is costly per night though and it would be great if they would give you a %off if you stay more than 2 nights and for going directly through them.”
“This was our 2nd time staying at this neat original style HoJo motel. Room was immaculately clean, and had been renovated very well, and we slept comfortably. The owner/ manager was friendly, caring and very responsive!”

“A Wonderful Hotel. Quiet and Relaxing. Staff are 10 Star Professional. An inviting and comfortable stay. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with great customer service from a Southern Gentleman from Birmingham Alabama which was a great conversation considering my wife lived, worked and resided in Huntsville Alabama. Thank You Doubletree Bristol Connecticut not Bristol UK. I initially booked a room in Bristol UK not Connecticut and had to rebook upon arrival. Staff was gracious and patient. Great Experience. Our 2nd or 3rd stay. Love The Environment.”

“I had such an amazing stay. From the moment you arrive the valet team and front desk receive you with such great attention. The room was clean and loved the views. I enjoyed going to bar max and not having to step out of the hotel to enjoy my time. This is truly worth another visit.”
“I can’t say enough about our experience at Avon Old Farms Hotel. We stayed here for my daughter’s wedding weekend, and from start to finish, it was absolutely outstanding.
Our family alone booked 7 rooms, and with extended family and friends we had around 15 rooms total—so this was no small group. Every single aspect of the hotel was exceptional: the beautiful grounds, the charm and cleanliness of the rooms, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout. It truly set the perfect tone for such a special weekend.
What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the service.
Stacy deserves a huge thank you. Honestly, I don’t think we could have pulled this weekend together without her. She showed incredible patience and flexibility, especially with last-minute changes—even day-of adjustments when a family member unexpectedly had to leave early. She handled everything calmly and seamlessly. We also rented the Jackson Suite for my daughter to get ready in, and it looked absolutely beautiful—perfect for the occasion.
Janice was another star. She handled what felt like constant questions, requests, and moving parts from all 15 rooms—sometimes hour by hour—and she never missed a beat. Always helpful, always gracious, and truly went above and beyond.
Roy(I hope I got that right!) was just fantastic—polite, energetic, and always ready to help. He was everywhere, taking care of anything we needed with a smile.
We also had great experiences at Seasons restaurant. The first night, we had a group dinner for 16, and Eli, our server, was incredible—exactly what you hope for and more. By the second night, our plans kept changing (as family gatherings do!)—starting with 6 people, then expanding… and expanding… until we ended up with 12 adults plus two babies. Eli handled it all effortlessly and with a great attitude. Even when a small issue came up (my aunt’s sandwich!), it was handled professionally and immediately—because it’s not about mistakes, it’s about how they’re handled, and they handled it perfectly.
At the end of the day, what meant the most was that the hotel gave us a comfortable, beautiful “home base” for the weekend, allowing us to focus on what really mattered—celebrating my daughter’s wedding with family and friends.
A sincere thank you to the entire team at Avon Old Farms Hotel. You made a special weekend even more memorable.”
“The ceiling has these stains, the peep hole was painted over so we couldn’t see who it was when they knocked on the door. The establishment was clean and plenty of parking. Easy check in and check out… Coffee Cart available in reception area & vending machine … No free breakfast… No amenities… but a nice picnic table where you can eat outside… river in the back of the property absolutely beautiful… I would definitely recommend… I gave a 4/5 because of the ceiling stain & peep hole being painted over. ..”

“I loved staying in the rooms they have ; although ; if you want to stay for more than one night - - YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU ASK IF THE ROOM IS OPEN TO GET RENTED OUT FOR AN ADDITIONAL DAY//NIGHT !!!”
“Never had a problem at a Holiday Inn Express. Would stay here again without hesitation. Derby's customer service at the front desk was excellent. Thank you Derby! = )”
“The hotel was as expected for CT, clean and a bit older but nice. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Location is great, close to the stadium but also 15 min walk from shops and restaurants.”
“A good variety was provided daily for breakfast and coffee/tea available all day.
During my stay this week, streaming apps were not accessible and an ETA is not available. The hot water seems to come and go.
The adjacent restaurant serves great pizza.”
“This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Hartford, about a block from Dunkin' Park (home of the Hartford Yard Goats!) and near many nice restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The gym is small but reasonably well-equipped (two treadmills, for my fellow runners). My only complaint was the included breakfast: a narrow range of choices, clearly constrained by what can be microwaved and no more. A little grim, honestly. It's not difficult to do a more enticing breakfast and this showed a disturbing lack of effort.”

“Appreciate the. Adjustable AC unit right in the room as well as microwave fridge freezer TV plus Wi-Fi services that would an accompaniment with the price of the room. Unfortunately did not have a coffee machine available for use weatherby vending machine or small personal pots. Plenty of parking on three of the four sides. Plenty of restaurant chains/stores supermarketsl businesses and restaurants all within walking distance. Easy access to multiple counties without traffic congestion. Pet friendly.”
“Unfortunately not a positive experience. I was given a room between two rooms being lived in and then noticed several rooms being apparently used for transitional housing. People loitering outside the rooms late at night talking loudly right outside my window. The snell of pot was so strong all evening and morning. Did not feel safe environment was very shady. Why the management puts travelors needing a good night sleep in the same area with the transitional housing rooms is crazy to me”
“I recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham Hartford and had a surprisingly pleasant experience. The hotel offers great value for the price, and I appreciated the comfort and convenience it provided during my stay.
The room was clean, well-prepared, and equipped with everything I needed for a short visit. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the overall setup made it easy to relax after a long day. I also liked that the room included essentials such as a mini-fridge, microwave, and reliable Wi-Fi.
The staff deserves special mention — everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with any questions I had. Their positive attitude made the stay feel more personal and comfortable. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, which I really appreciated.
The location is convenient, especially for travelers passing through or visiting the Hartford area. Access to major highways is quick and easy, and there are several stores and dining options nearby.
The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus — simple but fresh, and a good way to start the morning before heading out. Parking was also easy and felt secure.
Overall, Super 8 by Wyndham Hartford is a solid and budget-friendly choice. It’s clean, comfortable, and supported by great staff. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and pleasant place in the area.”
“Stayed here for a quick business trip. It’s a simple place, nothing fancy, but it did the job — quiet at night, and the staff was polite. Room was okay, could use a few updates, but everything worked.
I was in the area for a few finish carpentry projects — I run a local company called Door Construction based out of Worcester.
If anyone around here ever needs help with door installation, trim, or kitchen cabinets, feel free to reach out. Always happy to connect while working nearby!”
“I have been here for a good while. It’s very quiet, very clean right across the street from the highway, so traveling is efficient. Staff very friendly and accommodating within reason. I enjoy being here.”
