“I had no issues picking up a car on a Saturday morning and returning after hours Sunday night. Super convenient location inside of Union Station.
To pickup, follow signs for rental car pickup/busses. Avis and Budget are in a different area than other rental car companies but you’ll seen signs. The last step is to take elevator 3 up and it’ll let you out at the Avis booth.
I was delighted to find out they actually do allow after-hours returns (I thought I was going to have to return at DCA). When returning, enter the garage on H street and make sure you use the rental car return lane. After entering, signs are pretty clear to take you to the Avis return area.
If you’re returning after-hours, you’ll just leave your car as close as you can to the Avis entrance. They seem to use a car to block off the actual entrance so you just park behind that. Lock your car and toss the keys into a lockbox.
My return was processed the following morning, 4 minutes before they officially opened.
The only note on after-hours returns is the elevator to go back down to the bus level might be turned off. You just have to take the stairs down one level and there will be an escalator from there.”

“I’ve picked up vehicles from the 19th & L Street location many times, and I’ve never had a problem with the customer service. The employees have always been courteous, friendly, and professional.
This time was no different when it came to the service. My only issue was that the backup camera went out on the vehicle. Other than that, everything was good and I had no problems with the experience.”

“We had such a great experience with this company. Max was our chauffeur and was so kind, on time, and made us feel very welcome and drove us around safely. We have had such a hard year. I have been battling cancer and my husband wanted to make this night memorable with our 2 children. I didn't have the strength to be able to do a lot of walking. Had we driven ourselves, we would have to park miles away from the stadium in D.C. I am so happy my husband Kevin made this happen. Max was so empathetic and just a pleasure to talk to.
