I tried a new boarding facility that opened just a few miles down the road. They’re big chain and just a couple dollars higher priced. (It turns out to be the same price when you consider paying for gas.)
As long as HDI has space, it’s worth the drive to me.

5229 County Rd 209 S, Green Cove SpringsWe got to a point where our elderly mini poodle (Zelda) would not let us clip her nails or clean up her face, and she would get very grumpy/snappy at us. Meg was so kind and gentle with Zelda that she was even able to flip Zelda on her back for grooming! That was something we had not been able to do in several years, I think that really sold Meg for us that she was able to get Zelda to trust her to be able to do that. Zelda has passed now, but we have Robby (Russell terrier/shih tzu mix) and he has really dark nails and big eye brows. We tend to get Robby's nails clipped at a grooming salon since I'm afraid of making him bleed, but it is so common for other people to do the same...so back to Meg we go to get his grooming and nails done! It's a small hike every time (coming from Jacksonville to Green Cove Springs, so ~45 minutes each way) but it's been so worth it since I don't have to worry and I know Meg will take care of the pups. We've been really happy with Meg every time and she's really set the standars for us regarding grooming and handling the animals.

3363 Hwy 17, Green Cove SpringsDr. Bayless is the most compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarian I have ever encountered. She has been providing care for all of my animals for over a decade. Regrettably, she has had to assist in the passing of at least three of my fur babies which she did with the utmost compassion. On a brighter note, I have a cat who is over twenty years old and believes herself to be Wonder Woman, a testament to the exceptional care Dr. Bayless has provided. All of my fur babies have surpassed their expected lifespans, a fact which I attribute to Dr. Bayless's diagnostic skills. She has also been aware of my financial limitations as a single mother and has consistently helped me make budget-friendly choices while making sure that my fur babies receive the necessary care. She is not only a wonderful person but also an exceptional veterinarian. When Dr. Bayless decided to change locations, my fur babies and I followed!
