“This Publix is a smaller store which means they have more time to spend on fixing whatever problems that they have. They are consistently changing the buy one Get one cards once a week on Thursdays (I think, intentionally). There's a market strategy there somewhere, I can assure you. After going up on the creeks and rivers, I finally figured out how to stay away from most of the insects. However, other people weren't so lucky. If this gets any attention, I may carry on with it. The review that is. You boys and girls have a good night, try to stay out of the cat and dog food because there's usually better stuff close by. “When I first moved to Florida back in 2001, I pretty much chose Winn-Dixie as my primary supermarket. For a while, it seemed that Winn-Dixie lost their way, but they have since bounced back and have become a v8able supermarket again. The best thing that Winn-Dixie did was put a focus again on their meat department and bringing in quality beef. I was so disappointed when Winn-Dixie began putting an emphasis on non-graded imported beef. Now, even though they still offer the USDA Inspected but not graded meat, their emphasis is now on their USDA Choice grade beef. I will also say that the change has expanded beyond their meat department. As I said, Winn-Dixie has made a definite comeback and is, again, a great supermarket. I would definitely recommend this Winn-Dixie and I will give it five stars.”

“I stopped at Bravo Supermarkets a few weeks ago after work because I needed ingredients for dinner and honestly didn’t feel like dealing with one of the huge crowded grocery chains nearby. I’d passed the store many times before but had never gone inside, and I was surprised by how different it felt from a typical supermarket. The first thing I noticed was the variety of international foods. There were sections with products I usually only find in smaller specialty stores — different seasonings, frozen foods, fresh bakery items, and a lot of Hispanic and Caribbean products. I ended up buying way more than I planned because I kept spotting things I hadn’t seen in years. Bravo markets are known for carrying local and international grocery items that reflect the surrounding community. What stood out most during my visit was the fresh food area. The produce looked good, and the meat counter actually had employees helping customers instead of everyone standing around confused waiting for service. One worker even recommended a marinated chicken option when I mentioned I was short on time for cooking. The store wasn’t perfect though. A few aisles felt narrow once it got busy, and I noticed some price tags didn’t exactly match the shelf placement, so I double-checked a couple things before checkout. Still, the cashier was friendly and moved the line quickly, which made the experience less stressful. Overall, Bravo Supermarkets felt more personal and community-focused than larger grocery stores. It’s the kind of place where you can quickly grab essentials but also discover products you didn’t expect to find.”

Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
