“8/8/22 Been looking for electrical conduit tape all over the place...this is the fourth place to be exact as we are laying an electrical line and the building inspector said we needed to add this to warn anyone should we need to dig it up, people are aware. Hubster called and they had it!! Located in the Mapunapuna area, this was easy for us to get to. I'm not an electrical expert, but they did have a lot of things that you won't obviously find in a Loewes or Home Depot. Shelves aren't stocked...but that's the reality for ALOT of businesses nowadays due to shipping issues. This place was worth the trip! Customer service was great. Employee spent quite a few minutes answering questions as we did not want to drive there and them not have it, When we walked in they were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.”

“Home Depot has became our Black Friday tradition. It started decades ago when I noticed the poinsettias were so cheap that I could afford to buy one for each relatives gravesite. I remember initially buying less than half a dozen, now we need 17. When the kids were born, I brought them along for Black Friday. Popo (grandma) at one point joined us. It has evolved into a family tradition. Popo has difficulty walking now so we sit her in a non-congested aisle. Then her grandchildren hunts for the best poinsettias and brings them to her. Popo selects 17 of the best ones. Afterwards, the "poinsettia hunters" is treated to breakfast. Popo will nurture these poinsettias until her "retired poinsettia hunters" returns home for their winter break. She looks forward to visiting all the graves with her entire family. We spend one day convoying from one graveyard to another, ending with another great meal as a family. We have no photos of this Black Friday tradition so we made a point of taking one. Later we noticed a Home Depot employee photo bombed us. How apropos. In the background Home Depot employees have made this tradition special for over two decades. Thank you Home Depot employees. Thank you for greeting us and making us feel welcomed. Thank you for being pleasant even when you're busy. Keep up the good job and your HUMOR. Happy Holidays.”

“A shout out to the manager Dan for exemplary customer service! I was following up on an order for some custom window screens to be fabricated which were not received within the promised time window. After speaking to him, I received his assurances that he would follow-up personally and expedite the order. He called me at 7 AM the next morning to inform me that they finished them up the previous evening and that they were ready to pick up. Mahalo Dan!”

“They had on the shelf, a hard to find old Elgin shower valve cartridge. The salesman at the counter hardly even saw me get the used part out to show him and he knew right away what I was looking for - he knew his stuff!
It makes me frustrated to see bad reviews. This is just my opinion, but I think the people with poor reviews often do not understand the big picture and how this works.
Since I'm a contractor on the mainland I see this place is primarily for professionals. I'm pretty sure they aren't trying to or care to be one of the big box stores. It's just not their main focus.
They also probably aren't set up for returns or dealing with open packages or complaints.
Their retail prices cannot be compared to online stores - a plumber may get a better price so they can mark it up to pay for their expenses. But they also know what they need then do their job, and they also cannot afford to spend time doing lots of returns.
The people there are very knowledgeable, but they are not a DIY place trying to teach you how to save money.
How much are you truly saving if you need to maybe take off days from work, get the parts, possibly buy tools/supplies and return things? Not to mention that you may not have water during this time.
My situation was a little different I had limited time to get my repair done so I couldn't order something and wait for it to arrive. The price was the price and it was still a reasonable value, but even if I found it cheaper elsewhere, how does that help me if I don't have it in my hands?
So lucky I had help from some locals (at a competitor) to guide me to PP&S and they saved me.

“I don't know what happened to my review November 2023. Walking in the aisle with the Dog in the shopping cart. Sporadic Acute Episodes occurred, I was falling backwards, I went unconscious due to being Dehydrated. 2017 Diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, in January to December 2017, Sporadic Acute Episodes occurred, my knee or knees would Buckle and collapse, on Patrol for Securita's Clients. In December 2017, the Doctor Confirmed Diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. A Neurological and Muscular Disorder, that's considered a Disability. May 1, 2024, Sporadic Acute Episodes, the Right side of my Spine felt like an Object was Thrusting at my Back; All Day. 24/7, Pain All over my body, appears to be the Nerves Systems Disorder. Pain Tingling Numb in my Toes, Foot, Hand, Back, Neck, Head. In May 2024, the Primary Care Physician, referred me to the Pain Clinic. June 2024, will get the consultation the Doctor said the Therapeutic Treatments is Acupuncture and ?Injection. May 2024, returned to Hardware HI Mapunapuna, thank Francis and Liza for his Kindness. And provided information regarding my Health Conditions, requires 8 cups of water daily. When the Spine Pads are worn and missing, Hydration and Vitamin D3 is Depleted. Maka'ala, Ho'onani Ke Akua.? ...”

“I have been looking for 3in washers forever and My husband finally found them here! They were fast and efficient and we couldn't ask for better service. We went up to a service window, told the worker what we wanted, and he went to get it. It's been so stressful trying to find these washer everywhere else but this was nice and easy. Thank you!”
“I stopped in to pick up a light fixture and was surprised at how big the place is on the inside! It’s much more spacious than it looks from the street. Unlike the overwhelming big box stores, this location isn't as densely packed, making it pretty easy to find exactly the part I needed. They have an impressive selection of everything from lumber and tools to electrical supplies and even furniture. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful. It's a great local spot for home improvement!”

“I’ve been a Lowe’s customer since they first opened, but this isn’t about a typical shopping experience. A few days ago, I accidentally dropped my wallet in the parking lot at the Honolulu location. I didn’t realize it until the next day—then got a call from Lowe’s letting me know one of their team members had found it and turned it in, completely intact.
I just want to say thank you to the Lowe’s team for having people like this on staff. That kind of honesty stands out. I even offered a cash reward, but the team member declined. Really appreciate the integrity here.”
