“We came in on the cruse ship, its a 10 min uphill walk on the side of the road if you dont have a Uber. But it was worth it for the convenience. Key was in a lock box and car was ready early. Good car and Friendly service.”

“I really detest getting off a plane and having to wait in a line for a rental car. National seems to have fixed that. Their employees were warm and professional, and they didn't have the chore of managing a long line at a counter because we just walked onto the National lot, were greeted, and we chose the vehicle in the class we had reserved. Our experience was great. Thank you National!”

“Finally, a good car rental experience in Hawaii! The people were friendly and efficient. They got me what I needed, and the car was clean.
The downside is their shutttle is opened limited hours. We took a red eye flight and had to find our own transportation.”
“Tina and Kala were incredibly accommodating when we had an issue with our car late at night. They were kind, patient and also really hustled to get cars cleaned, sorted and available. We were traveling with little ones and they were really understanding.”
“I was nervous after I booked this because of the many recent bad reviews, but I had a great experience. I booked through Expedia and didn’t get hit with any extra fees or hidden charges. I didn’t wait in line and the entire transaction took all of 5 minutes. Car was clean, ran great, and I had no issues. I’m imagining if folks are dealing with long wait times it’s because they’re coming from the airport right after a plane lands.”

“Was able to get shuttled from the airport across the street right to the Hertz building. Super simple process of getting checked in and just had a short wait before the car was pulled up and then we were off. They had a nice shaded seating area while your family waits.”

“Quick Shuttle service to and from the airport. When we arrived we had a short line with quick service. They gave us the paperwork for the correct car we reserved but the wrong keys. The car we reserved had just been dropped off and was not ready for us to use yet. So we waited for them to quickly wash it, fuel it and clean it. No problems with the car while using it. And drop off was even quicker. Then a quick shuttle ride back to the airport.
We had 4 different families rent from this same company. And their experiences are not even close to what we had. One reserved 2 7+ passenger vehicles and upon arrival they didn’t have any that size. They tried to give them 3 small cars in exchange. Which wouldn’t work for their family. It was a long process for them for get a scenario that would work for them with no compensation for the mess up. Another family reserved two smaller SUVs and ended up with 2 bigger ones. ( probabaly the 2 the other family needed where they landed 1 hr before them)”
“I rented a car in early January. I was worried when I was reading these horrible reviews while taxiing to our gate. I’m so glad to say that my experience was fantastic, much better than most of these reviews suggest. The shuttle arrived promptly, I was connected with a counter agent quickly, and they had me in my car within about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, when I was looking at the other agencies from the shuttle bus window, the lines were 20+ people deep.
The car was in great condition. Drop off was super simple. I was charged as expected. I’ll definitely be using dollar the next time I rent in Lihue. Mahalo!”
