“First time visit to Joseph’s. I purchased their mild & hot sausage along with prosciutto di parma. The older gentleman who took my order was patient and kind despite me coming in a few minutes before closing on a Friday. I highly recommend Joseph’s, their sausage was so delicious and not salty as many other places are. They are pricer than other locations however it is worth it to support a small business and their high quality meats. I’m looking forward to returning and being a regular customer. “I wanted to try their pastrami sandwich as this can be one of those menu items which can seem to feel processed on a mass scale. But this was an excellent thick cut and well smoked meat sandwich. Had this on a rye seed bread with pickled onions and TB 1000 sauce, the savory & fatty house cured pastrami is as good as some NY delis. I added mustard to give it that additional tartness to offset that umami of the meat. They make many other items here which I will need to try on my next visit, but their pastrami is a huge winner!!”

“Bring a hoodie! You immediately walk into a meat locker. Everything you want is on display for you to choose. There are counter people to help with specialty cuts. Very clean, no icky smell. Then there is the other side which is a market. Standard veggy selections, eggs and other prepackaged frozen foods, spices and sauces. This is definitely a place where restaurants, large events or big familys shop in bulk.”

“A great market focused on meat, but with many other selections. The nicest choice of fresh red meat I've seen anywhere in Chicago. Also a great selection of hard to find items like rabbit, venison, squab, duck, goose, quail, guinea fowl, etc in the freezer case. An exceptional assortment of fresh store-made sausages and dry jerky, pepperoni, etc. Plenty of (mostly frozen) seafood too. The largest selection of mustard and sauerkraut anywhere I've been. And yes the have Bavarian pretzels (frozen) and tons of prepared side dishes too. I could only find paid street parking, which was the only downside. Still well worth it to shop here.”

“It's a distributor for local restaurants that also will sell to the public I was curious about this place and stopped in not too much signage for the entrance but went in through the parking lot and walked through to an office area where a very friendly person was sitting. After asking about the place it seems you can get a variety of beef pork and chicken. I was there for some Italian sausage and got a 5 pounds of it which was just made and had good flavors. So when the time comes for a bigger order I'll share my findings”

“I got here at 5:30am got approached soon as I arrived, they helped me park on the opposite side of street to unload the trailer. There isn't a dock they use a pallet jack to unload. The earlier you get here the better because of traffic.”

“For semi drivers: have your tandems all the way forward. That's what worked for me- from Grand Ave I turned south to Nordics Ave (swing wide!), and went couple hundreds ft down the road across the rail road tracks to the stop sign at Belden Ave. Turn right on Belden, then back up across the intersection and turn right on Nordics again facing Grand Ave. This way you can get out of here relatively easy. Make sure you come as early as possible to beat the traffic.”
