“A Home Away From Home
For the past three years, the Hilton Orrington Evanston has truly become my home away from home. As someone who travels to Evanston for work every month, often multiple times a month, I've had the opportunity to experience this hotel through different seasons, leadership changes, and staff transitions. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: a genuine commitment to making every guest feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Over the years, I've had the pleasure of getting to know so many wonderful team members. A special thank you to Alexis, Kanak, and the entire Guest Services team, both past and present. To my morning crew, you know who you are, thank you for always starting my day with warmth, kindness, and a smile. To the evening team, the bell staff, housekeeping, restaurant team, and everyone working behind the scenes, thank you for consistently making each stay comfortable and memorable.
While I've seen more turnover in the restaurant over the years, I'll especially miss familiar faces like Angel and Jessica. They, along with so many others, helped create the welcoming atmosphere that keeps bringing me back.
What stands out most is the leadership team's unwavering commitment to hospitality. Even as new team members join the hotel, there is a clear focus on delivering exceptional service and creating a positive guest experience. That level of consistency doesn't happen by accident. It reflects a culture that values both its guests and its people.
On my most recent visit, after an especially long and exhausting day, I returned to my room to find the sweetest surprise waiting for me. The leadership team had left a handwritten note thanking me for my continued loyalty, along with an assortment of treats that couldn't have arrived at a better time. They had no way of knowing just how much I needed that simple act of kindness, but it was exactly what my day needed. It wasn't about the treats. It was about feeling seen, appreciated, and valued. Those are the moments that transform a great hotel into a place that truly feels like home.

After three years and countless stays, I can honestly say it's more than just a hotel.
