“Probably the best post office in the United States. There's only two postal clerk windows and PO boxes. No route carriers. PO personnel are expertly trained.”
“A wonderful post office superbly operated by Naomi. Exceptionally kind, gracious and a credit to the postal service. Naomi, is exactly the sort of operator everyone should aspire to be and one USPS should treasure. She makes the experience hands down the best experience in the Chicagoland area. Her, and Victor are both wonderful, and I'm grateful for all their support no matter the complexity of the postal problem you have!”

“By far, this is the most helpful, friendly, and well organized post office I have ever lived near. They routinely go out of their way to help you mail a package (even when you don't have the right tape or box), choose the correct shipping class and even will run out to the truck to retrieve your mother in law's Easter package because Yours Truly forgot to put her room # on the address. It is a jewel of a post office and I hope it stays open for a long long time.”
“This place is a real gem with a lots of unique items. Jim is absolutely professional, knowledgeable and honest person. I received the top highest price. Awesome day, happy day! Highly recommend it !”
“I had a wonderful experience at your office,(few days ago) largely because of Diamond at reception. She was not only professional and efficient, but also went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. It’s rare to see that level of service, and I truly appreciate her.”

“I had a postal money order for about $700 that could not be used for the purpose intended so I needed to have the money refunded. Lisa at the Highland Park Post Office is my hero. She took my phone number and called when they had enough cash on hand to make the refund. It took quite a few months because they rarely have that much cash but she faithfully kept my number. THANK YOU, LISA! Other post offices misinformed me. They told me I had to get the refund at a bank, which is not true. Lisa was right and went above and beyond the call of duty to help.”
“I love this post office! I don't live in Highwood but I go to this location as you get a small-town feel, the clerks are friendly, funny, helpful and efficient.”

“One of the staff stayed out during the start of her lunch break to help me cancel a package I had dropped in the drop box earlier that day. She had no obligation to help me but chose to anyways, incredibly incredibly nice and made my day.”
“This post office is my favorite, as long as you go through the week. If you go on saturday you will have opposite experience. The lady that works on the weekend does anything she can to do as little as possible. Through the week the employees are so nice and make sure to put the tracking, shipping labels and or postage on my packages themselves ensuring it is done right, weekend lady makes you figure it out and then gets rude when it isnt how she says its supposed to be and says cant be sent that way. I even watched her make a woman black out and rewrite the address because it was "upside down" as if they keep your packages neatly stacked and dont just throw them around. Im pretty sure on that rare occasion they need to turn or flip a box to read address ?? will never visit on a saturday again if i can avoid it.”

“I see a lot of bad reviews but I've been here probably about 10 times and generally don't really have any issues. And definitely not any issues that would not happen at any other post office I've been to. Yeah the workers might not have a fake customer service Smile on 24/7 but don't really expect it, they help with the transaction and then we're done”
“I go out of my way to come to this location. Dee is the sweetest & has always answered my questions. I'll be sad whenever she retires, but it'll be much deserved.”
“I understand that people can get a little crazy at the post office, but our experience getting passports was very smooth and seamless!
Our family of 4 got it all done in less than an hour and the young lady doing the paperwork and taking the pictures was very nice and helpful. Again everyone's experience will vary and at such a busy place, but can't complain!”
“The staff at this location is always very helpful and are procedurally focused. The are knowledgeable and efficient. The line always moves so the wait is not long.”
“Always pleasant, always patient & fun. Serious about their jobs. Ev one very knowledgeable. Will ask
another sales assoc. for clarity if needed. I've been going to this PO for 15 yrs. Always got great service. Didn't rush me picking out specialty stamps either.”
“I needed to go to the post office to complete fingerprinting for a job offer. As I normally expect trips to the post office to take some time I paid for 30min at the parking meter. However, I was in and out in less than 15min! The service was fast, friendly professionally and efficient. Go here if you need finger printing done! Not every post office does it but I can verify that this location does it and does it fast!”
“There is a great, great, great lady working Tuesday afternoons! She really made my day! I do not know her name but she is very helpful and knowledgeable. All other employees should go to her for training. A lot of other people are giving negative comments and negative ratings, but I think they are the ones with the bad attitudes, because this post office was a wonderful experience. The lady working here really restores my faith in the American Postal Service.”
“I'm new to this location, and receive excellent customer service. The young lady who assisted me was very helpful when it came to helping me to set up my PO Box, as well as offering me suggestions on how to locate my missing mail.”
“I went to this location about half an hour before closing on a Friday (I know ... it was the earliest I could get there) in order to send a package of documents internationally. I had reviewed the options online, but still wasn't sure what the best shipping option would be. The USPS worker who helped me was patient with my questions and informative in her explanation of the options; she explained clearly the delivery timelines for different methods and which offered signature on delivery (which I needed). I stepped aside to complete the necessary forms; because of the time of day, of course, several people passed through while I was there, and she was able to help everyone get through the line before closing. (There was one woman who came in and did try to skip the whole line and went straight to the counter while there was a customer being assisted, and the USPS worker -- rightly! -- told her she'd need to get in line like everyone else.) Post offices get a bad rap for service, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this location for help with any shipping in the future.”
“1:50 Saturday afternoon Sent a package and the clerk was patient with me and very helpful. In and out, including buying a mailer, packing it and addressing it, in about 6 minutes. Other customers seemed happy too.”
“I came to the Lynnwood location to drop off bulk mail, something I’ve been doing for many years at various locations. I know the routine and what’s required at each one. However, a newer person in the back seemed determined to do things differently. They told me I needed to pay for something that was already paid and directed me to another area for help—where the staff had no idea what was going on.
Thankfully, I was eventually able to find a supervisor who, along with another supervisor, quickly understood the situation and handled it perfectly. Meanwhile, the original person who sent me on this wild goose chase stood by, telling others I was doing it wrong.
Let’s be clear—I’ve been handling bulk mail professionally for a long time. Nothing significant has changed with this process in all these years. Some people just need to come down off their high horse and stop acting like they’re reinventing the wheel just because they’re newer at this location I am guessing. Or they have been there a long time, and it is just crabby, at everybody. Even at their supervisors.
I always say enjoy life.
AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, JUST QUIT.”
“The vitriol toward this place is - to me - incomprehensible...I've been coming here for years and never once had a bad experience. The clerks & carriers are kind as can be, interior of the office is always clean and neatly organized, essentially the ideal village post office. Far too many seem to take the USPS for granted. Once in a blue moon I've had a minor mix-up or two, but nothing worth writing about. Whatever issues the post office has are with upper-level management, not any of the hardworking personnel who are out there every day, keeping the service alive and running.”
“I recently needed to set up a PO Box and visited this post office. The paperwork seemed a bit confusing at first, but the manager, David, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly patient, took the time to help me fill everything out correctly, and made sure I got my keys without any stress. Excellent customer service! Thank you so much, David!”
“I usually have an unpleasant experience at the post office. I live near downtown so I was in this neighborhood & went to the post office & can easily say I’ll be coming back here.I was lucky enough to have Debra take care of me to send out my package & she was wonderful! Super helpful & sweet! Need more employees like her!:)”
“Woman I dealt with was friendly after I genuinely said “Good morning” and asked her how her day was. Had a quick conversation about the weather warming up and a smile.”
“I had a great experience recently at the Morton Grove Post Office (June 2024). In order to officially change my mail forwarding address due to a move, I needed to go into the Post Office to confirm my identity, old mailing address, and new mailing address. Al at the front desk was great. He explained the process thoroughly and what I needed to complete it. He was also EXTREMELY patient when I was attempting to shuffle though my email looking for my leases and an email from USPS that I needed. I really appreciate how helpful and calm he was during the whole process and it was very seamless. Thanks Al!!!”
“I had two previous passport appointments at the 1723 W Devon Ave USPS location - first was cancelled day of which they sent an email for. The second appointment I arrived early with a long line. They only had one person at the front. I had to catch her attention and tell her I was here for passport - told me it was cancelled and to go home. I ended up catching a postal worker outside and asked her what the deal was. She said to come to this location, the northtown location, and that they have next day appointments. I went home and lo and behold they have open availability the next day. I arrived and there was no one there, on a Friday afternoon no less. Loved that - I was instantly greeted by a wonderful Indian woman who thoroughly looked over my application and documents and helped me as needed. Quick and easy, was out of there within 10 minutes. Highly recommend this location for passport.”
“I have to disagree with the people who are rating this post office low. I have never had an incident that I was treated rudely.
Only once did I get a side eye from somebody, and that was because she was helping me and the guy next to her said something to me, and I began talking to him while I was at her window which was rude on my part.
The employees are always nice to me. Sure there are times where you can tell they might be overwhelmed or are alone at the desk with a line. We’re all human.
But I have witnessed people treat them like garbage. Angry because they didn’t get their mail and took it out on the people at the desk as if they have anything to do with it. But always, I see them trying to help and not losing their cool. Another person came in angry, because he didn’t get his mail when he moved, and the agent at the desk asked him if he filled out the change of address form, He lost his mind and insisted he did, but then asked how he can do it and the agent told him he could do it online and before the agent could tell him “OR” he could fill out a form, the guy called him incompetent and stormed out of the post office.
I think people need to really think about how they are approaching the people working behind the desk. I can assure you, you probably caused any negativity you might have received.”
“While headed to the Green Bay Trail for a run, I found this United States Postal Service (Glencoe Post Office) to be the closest near the trail while enroute. At the time, I had an eBay shipment that needed to be shipped out. I took a liking to its cute building which sat in a classy looking area nearby Glencoe Village Hall right in the heart of Glencoe! Via Village Ct, I was able to veer quickly into a parking spot rather than entering off of Hazel Ave. Along with its cute building exterior, the inside environment gave off a very positive vibe rather than a negative one. As I waited to be seen, I adored the postal clerks' interaction with a customer ahead of me, who had a young daughter. The interaction appeared so genuine which put a smile on my face immediately while in line and as I moved towards the counter to be helped. As someone who visits post offices regularly whether it be for Poshmark or eBay shipments, the postal clerk presented one of the friendliest vibes I have ever encountered at any post office location. After giving the clerk my package, he questioned me if it had anything liquid or hazardous inside then explained to me the shipment options for my package which I always choose the cheapest, hehe. As a Poshmark Ambassador on Poshmark, and someone with a 100% positive feedback rating on eBay as long as the package gets to my buyer I am always satisfied. I was on my way in minutes. I am terrible at doing the surveys pertaining to my visits at post offices, but best believe I always share some sort of a review. Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly utilize this United States Postal Service (Glencoe Post Office) again when in the area. ~ Embrace the journey. ~Thomas G”
