Gail treated my bargain purchase as tho it could have been a room of full price furniture, i.e., so attentive, courteous and kind. Weeks later, when my thoughts turned to a new sofa, I sought out Gail. Her skill, talent and gentle direction were pivotal to my finding exactly what I wanted. She stuck with me during my “all over the map” stage and introduced me to the fabric I ended up falling in love with but would never have zeroed in on by myself. “My physical therapist recommended that I buy a really good chair to prevent or reduce the lower back pain I get when sitting at my desk for a long time. The brand she recommended was sold at only one place in the Chicago area and I was incredibly lucky that the retailer happened to be Applied Ergonomics. I made an appointment with Jeff, the owner, who was absolutely amazing. He helped me find the perfect chair and I can't say enough good things about my experience. Although it is obviously more lucrative for Jeff to work with customers who are outfitting an entire office rather than buying just one chair, he made me feel welcome and spent a great deal of time having me try out different brands and models to make sure I got something that was very comfortable and supportive. My daughter, who was with me, was so impressed with Jeff's knowledge that she too decided to get fitted for a chair and also purchased an adjustable stand-up desk. Jeff's help didn't stop with the fitting. My daughter lives in LA and he spent a lot of time finding the most cost-effective way to have her desk and chair shipped from overseas to LA and delivered by a service where she could schedule a date and time that was convenient for her. My daughter and I were amazed how friendly and accommodating Jeff was. We would highly recommend Applied Ergonomics to anyone looking for higher-end chairs and desks and the service to match.”

The entire staff really helped me make a choice today that fit the needs of my friend. They were even able to fit it in my car so I can bring it to her today. “Stopped in today to pick up an order for a bridal shower, was greeted by Kathleen asking if I needed any help. When she came back with my order, I asked her if it would be possible to box it for me (glass items) and she said no problem at all. I think I could’ve requested that when placing the order online but she did not hesitate or seem bothered in the slightest when I asked. She was attentive and pleasant throughout our interaction, even answered my questions about the Epicurean cutting boards in the display nearby and I ended up purchasing one because of her input. “I really enjoy going to HomeGoods however, I felt a bit put off by the aggressive or maybe sarcastic remarks from Maria. I was asked whether I had a store credit card and when I responded “No” I was then asked why not. Then I was asked to make a donation which I declined then to hear Maria say Oh but you didn’t have a problem taking one of our mints which several of us took one not knowing it had anything to do with a donation. The basket was on a table with loose mints. After that comment I proceeded to give her a $1 after my credit card transaction. One of her male coworkers was behind her when he did a double take. As I walked to my car I became more irritated replaying the scenario that I am sitting in my car outside the store writing this review. Training employees how to properly interact with paying customers. Otherwise, I like the store and normally have good experiences.”

“PSA: I normally don’t write reviews for big box stores but we’ve had such an overwhelmingly positive experience at this West Elm, I had to share!

Every time we stop in, even if we’re just browsing, every team member greets us warmly and offers assistance. (And by this time, “here’s what’s new since you were in last!”)

The main character of this review is Elle, so let’s talk about her. She’s taken photos we’ve sent of our new space, reworked our living room layout three times, and turned it into a home. Elle thoughtfully suggested great pieces (and fabrics that won’t give me the ick!) She’s doing hero work.

“I had ordered a ghost mirror from the PB website and unfortunately it stopped working after 1 week. Customer service told me I could send it back and get a replacement right away - but I threw my box away. I took the 35 lb mirror into the store at Old Orchard mall and they accepted it back and told me they would call customer service to let them know that the mirror had been returned but they cannot send it back for awhile since they too needed to wait on a box big enough. Before I was home, I got an email saying that my replacement mirror has shipped out. Thank you so much to the PB OO team for making this process easy. I loved that mirror and I am so excited to try again with it.”
