“I went in the Family Dollar/Dollar General across from the old Edison School. I usually only come here for emergencies. This particular day, there was a young lady at the register, and she was so nice and customer friendly. I watched her with the customers. She was the same with everyone. It was the type of energy that spreads. Her vibe was happy!! When I got to the register, I told her not to change her energy, because it's rare you find happy people these days, especially in customer service. Normally when you go in the store, there is so much unprofessionalism. Boxes all in the aisles. No one says that you cannot have fun at work, but it is a business. Just be aware of your surroundings regarding your customers. We all know it is "the hood" store, but sadly that's an excuse. We want stores that we feel comfortable and proud to shop in without having to drive a country mile to get that. Corporate also needs to fix their stocking issue, because it's clearly an issue at all of their stores. Go ahead and spend the money and hire a midnight crew for stocking so your customers don't have to maneuver around boxes in the day time, which is a safety issue and trip hazard. You should also hire a crew to unload the trucks on delivery day. The day the truck comes doesn't change. This will help to change the cleanliness of the store during the day and require less re-stocking so your employees can be available to your customers improving customer service. Just an opinion.”
“There is an outstanding sales associate by the name of Tammy in shoe department at store number 0229. She took time to assist me to find a great pair of sandles. There is also are outstanding managers by the name of Joy and Susie. Both ladies are grand. This is why I love to shop at Kohls. Thank you and happy 4th of July. :)”

“This past weekend I was shopping and went into the fitting room and somehow misplaced my purse and noticed it mid shopping and quickly told Racquel the cashier and quickly called the manager. Once the manager came told her I tried to ping my phone and heard it and now I couldn't hear it and believe someone has taken my purse, the manager quickly went into her office to review cameras and as she was viewing Bertha from the fitting room had come up to me and stated that a customer had given her the purse and quickly came and got me. I want to shout out to Bertha (fitting room attendant) Racquel (Cashier) and manager sorry I forgot her name but was very attentive. You guys rock and thank you a million times. Best staff ever!!!”

“Actually, this store is very clean but a little crowded but they try to keep it neat. It’s possible the staff there act like they really don’t want to help you but they’re watching you at the same time. You literally have to go up to them and ask for help but once you get the cash register, they will check you out. I only go here if I just need something quickly and efficiently but overall it’s not a bad store”

“I love the groceries at meijer. It is my home away from home and I love shopping at all of the Meijer stores in Lake and Cook County. However, tonight on August 4th, 2024 at about 11:15 p.m., I was in the self checkout at the Highland Indiana store and a sale price did not come up which I realized after I had already paid unfortunately. So, I started to talk to the foreign lady about it who was working in the self-scan area. She speaks with an accent. Well, she does NOT understand personal space or pick up on social cues. I was trying to discuss the receipt and she was standing right on top of me, literally 2 or 3 inches away. I would back up to get away from her to try to have a conversation at more of a distance and she would come right up close to me again. So I backed away again to stand at more of a distance and she came right back up super close to me again. She did this four times and I realized either she is doing this on purpose because she notices it's making me uncomfortable or she literally does not understand social cues at all and she certainly does not respect personal space. It was really frustrating and aggravating. Apparently she thinks everybody wants to stand super close to her, so close that you're almost touching skin. It's simply not the case. That was probably the most annoying encounter I've had in the last 4 years. Really hoping she learns the importance of respecting personal space and understanding that she does not have to stand right on top of everybody, shoulder to shoulder, in order to have a conversation. Hoping also someday she learns to pick up on social cues if she really doesn't get it.”
“Store carried an over abundance of plus size clothes. Too many. Either make it plus size only or even out the ratio of clothing size. People are spending stimulus money. I was pretty much in the store over an hour and maybe 4 customers came in. Me and one customer purchased something. The others didn't spend more than 5 mins.in the store.”

I have A LOT of options as to WHICH "dollar" facility to spend my $.Wish more ppl would take time to tell yall when they experience GREAT service/ experience & not always on JUST the negative. I am not overexaggerating when I say (& corporate may want to check into this as it relates to MANY MANY of ur stores in my surrounding area.) These OTHER facilities are disorganized, messy, dirty & unfriendly. The unfriendly part- to a point I can underst- due to stress bc understaffed & employees hired can be useless.YOUR WORST store is located at 760 N Wisconsin Hobart, IN 46342.ITS A TOTAL DUMP! 24/7.Again, I do not know anyone HERE either. All my friends,even the younger guys/ men, family, church goers - we all refuse to even step foot in here. In conversation it was ALWAYS SAME -They ALL agreed- a dump, trip hazard, filthy, lucky to be able get thru 70% of ANY aisles bc all blocked with inventory. It ALWAYS looked like a tornado went thru the building ( ok lil over exaggerated, but NOT by much)Approx 2- 3 yrs ago I noted some odd behavior between employee/ customer- must ve known each other that told me to never go back.***On to my list of compliments: * even entrance & glass of doors clean* I could actually walk thru EVERY single isle* shelves /end caps well stocked AND neatly * even empty /nearly empty shelves were all org & neat* staff extremely helpful & pleasant* bagging of ALL my items with care* flooring clean* check out areas well kept & not clutteredMy history, my first visit to THIS store ever was 2 weeks before Thanksgiving 2023.I was purchasing 2 sets of Thanksgiving meals to fill food baskets for local families in need. Store was extremely busy prior to, during & after I left. I told myself how nice this store was being kept- clean everywhere,stocked, organized. I got so excited to be able to walk thru every single aisle. As BUSY as the staff was...the long line of customers at check out WITH multiple registers open ? staff kept smiling, helping customers, others keeping things clean.WOWZA.During this visit & at check out I asked for store info & who/ where to contact to let higher ups aware of this GREAT store & why. Checking me out was the manager named Tilney. She wrote down- district 740, store # 05988. I have now had same GREAT experience at every single one of my visits - at least 5 - 6 now.PLEASE be aware of THIS TEAM u have at THIS facility! Manager/ employees take real pride working here & they show it on so many levels inside this facility. Since my multiple visits I am now telling friends family church goers etc They. ..have to shop HERE. THEY as well have to pass by other multiple " dollar" type stores. Keep up the hard work store # 05988. MY FOREVER DOLLAR STORE!!”

“The young Hispanic woman at the cashier was an absolute superstar. So personable and helpful. Very encouraging to her other associate working the floor and helping her do other tasks. She had a huge line and was getting everyone out so fast. Genuinely so nice and welcoming. Very disarming. I made sure I let her know when I got to the register as well. I did the survey on the receipt as well to make sure she gets the recognition she deserves. Please make sure to give her a raise or promotion. Both is what she really deserves. You all should be very grateful to have her as a team member. She’ll be the reason you have a lot more returning and HAPPY customers. Get her to train other employees too! She’s the best example to lead.”

Sometimes the people packing online orders don't say excuse me but overall Management continue illustrating how a community can depend on our neighbor store!!!!!
