“Friendly staff. Quick checkout. Had quality size pumpkins for my last minute needs. Bought a bag of Iowa raised Roasted Dill Pickle Crickets to try for the 1st time. They actually tasted pretty good. I dont eat anything even close to that so I'd say it's worth trying them or something else that gives you a No Way feeling. I'm going to take my suggestion and try more foods I haven't tried or didnt like the 1st time and see if my tastes have changed any.”
“The prices are competitive with other stores but you can find some very good bargains with their 'on sale' items. Their selections of products are somewhat limited due to the store size. All things to be considered a good store to shop.”

“Been going since i was a young kid to get fresh vegables. Remember going in getting dilled green beans from the women that owned the place. Loving getting my green tomatoes here know. Fried green tomatoes. It's such a nice place, would be great for a garden party with tea and fancy summer drinks, Sandwiches made from the fresh vegables grown there. I heard it use to be like that.”

“One of the best places for a vegan to shop. Too many options to choose from, just check packaging to make sure it's what you want since vegan items are sprinkled in randomly. Wish it had a dedicated aisle for it.”

“Always a pretty good time at HyVee. Maybe a bit pricier, but sales are fantastic and happening all the time. Also, if you actually use your gas saver, the discounts on gas are great! This isn't a separate store from the main HyVee, it's IN the HyVee. Along with the pharmacy, which is quite busy, and Caribou Coffee is also inside. The Wine & Spirits portion has different hours than the store. The main grocery store's hours are now 5am-11pm every day (W&S and Pharmacy have different hours). When the store is busy and you need a 6-pk and bag of ice, it's super nice to get in and out using the separate doors to W&S. Always helpful, happy staff too! ?”
“I have a business not very far from this one and for the last 5 years I've been going here for one item or another and the employees seem quite friendly.. An added plus is the occasional acoustic guitar player, sometimes w a singer. It's a nice surprise to walk into a convenience store and hear live music for a few minutes..”

“I luv Hy vee drug store and missing the one they had in Marion before the Derecho ? But this Hy vee drug store is still alive and kicking. Along with great helpful staff. They have a lot of items the big store carries just in a scaled down version so if u need something quick your not having to go into the BIG store and you can just get and go. Luv that I found this one”
“Wow! I went in with the wife and decided to get breakfast while she got a few things. I got the Hy-5. $8. Thought average price. Sat down in their Market Grill space and waited. Nice 80s background music. I thought it was getting just a little long for the wait. Then the food came and I understood. Any other place and this would have been a lot more money. Two full plates of eggs hashbrowns sausages bacon and pancake. Pancake. The pancake was huge a full plate diameter! Fluffy tasty. Land-O-Lakes butter. I had the choice of two meats. I chose the bacon and sausage. While the sausage was good that bacon was amazing! Next time I'm going to double up on the bacon. Everything done right. Hashbrowns and bacon crispy not overcooked or limp. I had to get a to go and I can pack away a bit of food. I may have to do this more often and not wait till retirement for regular Hyvee breakfasts :)”

“I stopped at this grocery store for some breakfast items on a Sunday morning. Everyone working seem to be friendly and very helpful. It's a large store with a huge selection of items.I think the prices might have been a little on the high side on the items that I surveyed while I was walking around.The store is very clean and like I said has just about everything that you would ever think you would need.”

“HyVee is expensive and cost of living going up has only made it more so... But the people are friendly / helpful and this HyVee has been our go-to since the one closest to us had some major customer service issues and we won't go back for regular shopping there... But this one is always fast to get us out of there, understanding that we're disabled, and helpful for anything we need.”
“Johnson Ave Hy-Vee was my first job when I was just 14 years old. I have moved a few times but every time I find myself close to Hy-Vee Store #1, I get the urge to stop and pick up a few things. What can I say - It feels like home in there! The store is always clean and usually well stocked but on occasion, the staff can leave something to be desired. It's happened on more than one occasion that I have needed help and no one could be found that could assist me. The customer service area is also almost always a cluster and I never have a clue about where I'm supposed to stand in the random line of people. Now, if you haven't been to the Market Grill at this location, you should definitely check it out! Good ol' Hy-Vee deli style food and some additional tasty dishes, served to you cafe style - comfy booth and all. I enjoy the prices and the quiet atmosphere as I eat my meat loaf with mashed potatoes. All in all, Hy-Vee Johnson Ave is a good store. Just don't expect that 15 year old to help you find your green beans.”
