“There are several spice options. There is also popcorn seasonings. The fused olive oil and balsamic vinegars are nice. They offer several sets. Smallest jar is about an ounce and a half. Most common is the 2.6 jar and then they have larger bagged options. The honey and maple syrup were a nice surprise but really loved the dried mushrooms. Great little shop is you really like cooking.”
“Been going here for years. Pricing and service have been great a majority of the time. Selection can be a bit iffy at times but what I can't find tends to be slightly less popular (like gochujang). Some of the stuff I get on a weekly basis I can't find down the street or the other grocer is always out. The store layout is better than other local grocers, as well. Self-checkout is a bit slower than most, but I'm not constantly being incorrectly flagged by bad AI.
My only legitimate complaint is Carol, who seems to be both angry and baffled by the computer system and genuinely offended by me asking her to correct a charge she manually inputted that was greater than the sale price. Absolutely awful customer service to fight a customer on a $1 refund instead of honoring a sale price (or fixing it in the system).”
“I had such a great experience with Hilal Store! The owner was incredibly kind and respectful. I ordered fresh chicken, cleaned and cut, each portion packed separately, along with some other items—and everything was delivered right to my door, even in the rain, and exactly on time.
I honestly didn’t know they offered this kind of service, and it truly saved me so much time and effort. As a mom of three kids, this made my day so much easier. Highly recommend!”
“I married into a balkan family. Still learning the language. The staff here are so nice, helpful and friendly. When Im sent to the store for something Ive never heard of they are quick to assist. Large variety and has all the essentials of a balkan house kitchen (or so I'm told).”

“I had the egg sandwich at the farmer's market and it blew my mind! So much flavor. I was given two sauces the red was a sort of spicy peppery flavor and the green was minty. Both delicious. Will be stopping in!”

“First time here! My husband and I recently moved to Ames from Chicago where my family is from. I was missing a lot of the Polish goods that my grandma would buy so I decided to take the drive to see what they had. I was so happy that they had even the same brands! While checking out I found out that a lot of the things they sell come from a distribution warehouse in Chicago.”
“The employees are excellent, kind, and helpful. But not enough of them are staffed and they're made to work too fast. The company is able to afford to staff more employees and should do it - it's the only thing that tarnishes the store's image, in my eyes.”
“Found Double Dragon while cruising. Went in and it gives me early 2000s SF Bay Area Asian market vibes. Packed aisles with everything that you know you need and a lot of what you didn't know that you needed. Fresh vegetables and herbs on the south and east sides of the market, fresh noodles on the back, north has all types of proteins both fresh and frozen. Pricing is competitive and selection is abundant!
Staff is always kind and helpful. Note: they stay busy and their time is valuable. Respect it!
I'll have to try the baked items at the counter next time. I really like this place. Seasoning selection alone needs it's own review post.

“Great pharmacy and grocery store... Has a vast variety of items and really great selection. Friendly staff and great fresh food. Fruit always seems fresh and well looked after. Shelves are always clean and well stocked. Hyvee wine and spirits is attached and easy interior access. Highly recommend this store.”
“This is one of our favorite Hispanic grocery stores! The owners are always so kind, welcoming, and friendly. Every visit feels like you’re being treated like family. “Pleasantly surprised at the selections I was able to find! This market had several items I was on the lookout for, but was missing a few I wanted. It's definitely geared more towards Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and maybe Korean foods. I didn't see much from Western Asia in general. Smaller store with less fresh produce than I'd expect, but reasonable for a local place. They had lots of coffee / tea powders if that's your thing!”

“I've only been here a few times and can say it's a small store but they are super nice and respectful. They let me bring my dog in when it was cold outside and have reasonable prices on some items. A full 25 lb bag of rice for 25 bucks is pretty worth it to me.”

“I just rode with a guy that picks up tires and disposes of them for Sahoma. I've never actually had any work done over there but I can say that they are really nice people and I would definitely give them a shot at looking at my vehicle sometime if I need them in the future. After I left the shop part of it I went up front to the store cuz I had the worst headache and the guy at the register gave me some Tylenol that helped make it tolerable till I could get some more in my system. Nice guy up front as well. I'd give 5 star and definitely will change my rating after I have some work done on my car.”
