“The staff was extremely friendly when I donated my items, and the prices were very affordable! The layout is definitely unique, but every store has its own charm. Hopefully it all goes toward a good cause.”

“My RN and aid went above and beyond. They not only made sure my mother was taken care of. They always checked in with me to make sure I was taking care of me. The calls from the Social worker and the volunteers were appreciated. When she finally took her last breath our RN was there within 10 minutes and stayed until the body was picked up. She was there when my grans came to say their final good bye. She made sure all questions were answered. Our aid was always gentle and respectful with my mother. Mommy was a very private person, but she looked forward to her visits.”

“Great thrift store! I’m here all the time! ?

Very clean and they do an excellent job curating items to sell. No junk here, treasures abound!

The friendliest staff ever. Very kind people. Thanks y’all! ?”

“I've shopped in here for years. I buy a little bit everything they sell. The ladies are always happy, and they always say hello. Some of the pricing is too high, and I think that's wrong cause management won't come down at all. Which is wrong cause they get it free. You would think they would work with people. Except she doesn't. I heard her lie to a person today who was interested in an item, and she said it was just put out. I go there a lot, and it's been there over a week. That's the only negative thing I have to say. She needs to learn to be honest and listen, when it's all given to them.”

“Best thrift spot in Des Moines. Huge men’s selection, awesome leather and fur coats, shoes galore, lots of workwear stuff and jerseys. Super quality items. Owner was amazing and super nice and friendly. Music, vinyls, miscellaneous furniture and stuff too.
My favorite Des Moines thrift.”

“I like this store over others. They treat there customers well and I can always find what I am looking for. The blue bag sale saved me a few bucks too and that was awesome.”

“ARC was a humbling experience. Did it Florida in 2004. It changed the trajectory of my life. I'm a much better person today. I thank God For the Salvation Army.”

“I love stopping by The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center when I am in the area because you never know what kind of hidden treasures you might stumble upon. The clothing racks are massive and packed with options, and I managed to find a couple of vintage flannels and a great coffee mug for just a few bucks. The store is generally clean and well-lit, though it can get a little disorganized in the housewares section where items tend to get piled up. The staff at the counter were incredibly polite and working hard to process the continuous line of shoppers, making it a wonderful spot to support a good cause while hunting for bargains.”

“I would like to share my positive experiences at the Goodwill Outlet Store. The employees there are awesome. They work as a team. Moving the bins in and out, just trying to keep the main isle open is challenging enough. When there is an announcement of the next bin or explaining the rules they are always positive. With patience and repeated requests to clear the main isle, it happens
Customers want to find those treasures and it becomes overly crowded. But what stands out is they always express to everyone to be respectful to others.
I would to give back a review by saying thank you to all the employees that work there. Some I have come to know and their kindness shines outwardly.
Christi, who is the store manger who is dedicated in keeping things in order. Her job can be thankless but she is out there with the team physically bringing out the bins cleaning, the bathrooms and doing it all.
Q who is the Assist. Mgr. is a gal with strength, dedication and compassion. A hard worker, with a great personality.
Ellie has a tuff shell. She has a kind but firm approach to situations and her humor is beyond words.
Nida, cashier, soft spoken, very caring , and a special person to me
Both Tramaine who is the Assist. Mgr. and Dorsey always greet me with a smile.
Here are the names of others who are employees that do a great job as well:
Mark A , John B , Michael F, Thomas G, Lori G , Maria H, Khamilah S, Pypek R, Alalyn, Kim S , Baily S, Rosenna T and
Jen P.M.
This store is special, and one of a kind in my opinion. All the staff are there for a reason. They try to do Good for every one. So next time , if it moves you. Let them know how important they are.”

“Stopped in the store was clean and well kept. The clothes were mostly in the correct spots, so it did make finding things easier. There were 2 cashiers I found Bob (he had a hat with his name on it), not so friendly, which I found disappointing as the lady was extremely nice. I'd give an 8/10 I'd recommend.”

“I went to Hope Thrift this afternoon and had a lovely experience. Unfortunately, an extremely rude woman was berating one of the employees about the prices and yelling at him about something he couldn’t control. He was extremely professional in the way he handled it and was much more gracious than he should have been. I was really grateful to support a place with a great mission, great employees, and great inventory. I hope that all customers can embrace that attitude of gratitude when shopping here.”
