“Amazing, intimate venue in Des Moines! Sound is great, staff is helpful and friendly and the vibes are stellar. They will even give you a real ticket if you purchase on site 😊 older venue feel but CLEAN!! I appreciate their selection of N/A bevs, mocktails and THC drinks (and free water!) Plus they book some really awesome shows!!! My fave venue in the 515!!!”

“Beautiful hidden gem we found on the internet while shopping for Christmas. Outstanding customer service who went beyond the norm to ensure mom recieved her beautiful earrings. They are stunning in person and reading the back story on the corn used to print the jewlery made it such a unique gift this holiday. Thank you so much for going that extra step. “The most stunning venue for our wedding in June 2026! Everyone commented on how beautiful it was, and they loved Artisanal Food Company's breakfast-for-dinner buffet, especially the stuffed French toast. It was so nice for our guests to have access to the air conditioned indoors on a hot day. Everything was wonderful, with the exception of not feeling very coordinated on the day. Things were a little chaotic, so I would recommend a wedding planner if you can afford one. It would have been nice to have had a rehearsal at the venue, which we opted out of because they only offer to open the venue 2 hours earlier, and it would have cut into hair & makeup time (if you don't want to get up super early). My decorators were very confused when they arrived because there was no one to show them around (I gave them maps and instructions but it's hard to visualize, the mansion is a bit of a maze).
Overall, though, a wonderful experience. A dream venue!”

“My son & daughter in laws wedding was here in Sept 2024!. I have to say the staff here, were some of the most attentive & helpful that I have ever encountered! The food was delicious, They went out of the way to help with desserts that came from STL. In fact they even went out of the way to carry Miller lite that night for some of the Uncles from MN, who will only drink Miller lite ( even though, that is not on their normal menu).
They were more than accommodating with allowing us to decorate early, The loft area for the wedding party to gather between the ceremony & reception was perfect for what the bride & groom wanted. In addition The staff went ABOVE & BEYOND the day of the wedding... The hired DJ was a no show ( although they had set up the equipment hours earlier.... ) The manager on duty had made several phone calls, trying to solve the problem of the no show DJ, even before involving the families... and continued to work to find solutions to the problem, Although the DJ finally showed up 3+ hours late..( I am sure it was only due to the persistence of the manager on duty at the Curate!)
If you want a venue that cares about the couple & families & will go to great lengths to make sure the day is SPECIAL. -- Then Curate is the place for you!”

“This is a nice place where older people can gather and dance and listen to music from local bands the prices are fair. Everyone seems pretty nice but you kind of feel at a place if you don’t belong or don’t go there or enough that everybody knows you the help most are very helpful. I’ve only had experience with one bad one, and I don’t think she’d have a problem with me if it were under different circumstances, but I rate this a Fun Pl., Klien also”

“Every bride needs an Anthony on their side. This man goes above and beyond to make your day as special as can be. My husband and I had the extreme pleasure of hiring Anthony and and the use of The Conservatory as our venue. It was beyond perfect and accommodating to what we had in mind. The venue is beautiful and well kept. There were no issues the entire time. The entire staff was so nice and professional. Thank you so much for making our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. Will recommend to any couple looking for the perfect place for their day!”

“The Teachout Building was the perfect venue for our wedding. Kaitlin was such a joy to work with. She communicated with us well, allowed us to come and take a look around any time we wanted, and helped us make big decisions for our day. The Teachout Building is stunning and decorated in itself. It was so nice to be able to get in Friday to decorate for Saturday and bring in vendors of our choosing. We absolutely love this venue and it is so special to us. We could not recommend this venue more.”
“We loved having our wedding at Jasper! Sydney is a gem and made the planning process and our wedding day so seamless. She was thorough throughout the planning process and paid attention to all of the details and our wishes. Zoe started towards the end of wedding planning and she was incredibly helpful and great to work with as well!
On wedding day, Sydney, Zoe and everyone else at Jasper was so attentive and flexible. The weather forecast kept changing throughout the day and we made the call to have an outdoor ceremony a few hours before it started. Jasper's staff worked quickly to get chairs set up so we could have an outdoor ceremony.

“The facility itself is clean and operational. There is plenty of space for darn near any activity. However, the building is a little dated. It's a fine establishment for an event such as the Book Frstival we attended. Just don't expect an architectural fantasy or any grand splendor.”

“Overall a great stay at Hyatt Place Downtown! Clean rooms, friendly staff, and an ideal location. Not a huge fan of paying for parking, but purchasing the parking option when booking made the rate much more reasonable.”

“Mainframe Studios is such a cool space in Des Moines with countless artists across all kinds of mediums. Some of my favorites are here, including Jennifer’s pottery studio on the 4th floor, Sarah’s photography studio on the 3rd, and JJ’s glassblowing studio on the lower level, where you can even take classes. First Friday each month is the best time to visit when most of the studios are open, but there are plenty of artists working in their studios outside of just First Friday too. And don’t forget the lower level! There are even more studios downstairs that are easy to miss.”
