“A lot of things are just alright about this hotel. However, it’s great if you have an event or want to explore the east village. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Parking is a bit confusing because the garage is around the corner. so try not to be in a hurry when you arrive.”

“A very comfortable, quiet room. Very good quality TV. The bathroom was well lit, and had more than adequate room to move around. The recliner was firm and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was basic but tasty, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, a couple choices of cereal, hard boiled eggs and yogurt . I found it beneficial to go to breakfast early [between 6:30and 7 am], to beat the crowd and have a seat. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping, were friendly and helpful. This is my second stay here, the location is great for when I need to visit Des Moines.”
“Overall a great experience for the amount I paid per night. I would have appreciated a little more variety in the hot breakfast items, but that's the only thing that came to mind as an area that could be improved.”

“I've stayed at Des Lux multiple times this year and enjoyed every bit. Soft bedding, friendly staff... and especially the hot tub and sauna in the spa. Rooms are big, public parking garage is just across the street, and we always leave totally relaxed.”
