“This is easily my favorite store in Des Moines. I highly recommend to everyone I know. There are so many cute things in there for just about anyone! I've bought cute stickers and vintage decor there. I always love coming in to see their new items. Their lounge set up is super instagram worthy as well.”

“A big part of the movie theater experience for me is the "look" of the theater, and this place absolutely nails it. Such a nostalgic feeling place from the carpet to the color walls and decor. The viewing experience is adequate as well. Reclining chairs are a bit squeaky but that's just me nit-picking at this point, I love this place.”

“It’s a decent venue for medium crowds. The workers were attentive and friendly. It was clean and well decorated. Bathrooms are small but probably adequate for most occasions. We went for the “In the name of love dine and dance party.” The food was just ok but it was great to see Tim and Jana making music again.”

“I live in Minnesota but have visited Suite Dreams in Iowa on several occasions to buy my big ticket baby items. Being an expecting mom, these purchases can be so overwhelming and I so appreciated the knowledge of those who work at Suite Dreams in helping me to navigate the pros and cons of all those baby necessities. Customer service is amazing! Big box stores or Amazon may have more inventory, but they don't have the expertise and advice that Suite Dreams offers. I HIGHLY recommend shopping for everything baby at Suite Dreams!”

“We are a nonprofit who serves Black women DV survivors and their co-surviving children. We have an annual event, Empowerment Arts Showcase, where survivors share their art - music, drawing/paintings/mixed media/etc., poetry, dance, spoken word, and any other art - and how that culturally-infused art has empowered them, rescued them, inspired them, strengthened them, sustained them. Then we explain our flagship program, Empowerment through the Arts, and invite survivors to sign up because now they know what it can do for THEM.The staff was kind, great problem-solving, fun, and professional with myself, my team, the artists, the vendors (food, photographers videographer) and the guests who attended. Our program is impactful and lovely - but being with them in their space with the gorgeous lights and sound?! That took it over the TOP!! We will DEFinitely work with them again. Do NOT miss out on this incredible place! Thank you, xBk live!! <3 <3 <3”

“We had an amazing time at Smashpark. The employees were welcoming and provided top notch service. When we came in, the manager was giving the employees a “pep talk” before their shift to ensure that everyone was motivated and ready. It was neat to see that. Food was excellent as well.”

“I’ve taken a few ariel-yoga classes and attended a private bridal party at cirque wonderland now. Both I’d recommend again and again. The ariel-yoga with silks is an experience I’ve never been able to achieve at any yoga studio before - the silks allowed me to stretch deeper than usual and felt incredible. It was also FUN, the teachers have been supportive, and suggested alterations for students who varied in ability. Lastly, the private bridal party was so unique, and my friends will probably talk about it forever!”

“What an amazing experience! I submitted an online request to use the space for a company event and received an immediate response via email from Laura. She made it so easy to book. The day of the event, we were greeted by Charles, who was welcoming, friendly, helpful - just all around amazing. The accommodations were clean and inviting. The technology set-up was easy to use. We'll definitely be back - well done West48 team!”

“So much fun! You can play for tickets or just for fun. Alcoholic slushies are tasty, I highly recommend the mango flavor! Cocktails are reasonable, and with $50 of play, you get an extra $10; good for 2 ppl to play for 2 hours.Parking: If you get there early, you can find parking right outside.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of wheelchair accessible games.”

“Great event space! The owner and staff were great to work with and the pricing is reasonable. I will attend other events here and will consider this space for hosting my own event here!”

“We have used Food With Flair for two events at our office. They have been amazing to work with both times. The first one was a more upscale lunch buffet with grilled chicken, veggies, and salad and the second one was a simple boxed lunch. For our second order we had many special requests for diet restrictions including gluten free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian - they accomodated all of our requests and worked with us to create a menu that fit our budget. 10/10 and we will use FWF again!”

“I tried almost all the wines (dry to sweet) and they were all good. The atmosphere is great- indoor and outdoor options with fireplaces in both which would be fabulous in cooler weather. I only took 1 star off because I go to wineries for both the wine and the EXPERIENCE and the person helping me acted like I was kind of an inconvenience. Didn't talk with me at all about the history of the winery or wines. But the person helping the couple next to me was very engaging with them so I did get to hear all of it by ear hustling. I ended up getting a glass of Edelweiss and sitting on the patio. This is my first time encountering this wine/grape and I am in LOVE!!! Highly recommend going if you are in Iowa.”

“This is a country bar where they have a big dance floor out in the middle and a stage for live music in the corner. They have pool and darts too for those who like to play some bar games. The staff is quick and friendlyParking: There is lots for parking”

“Visited the Taproom recently. The beer list was great. We all had flights. My daughter who's taking a beer judging course in Bend, Oregon said that a couple of the beers were oxidized. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit. Michelle, our waitress was very nice!!”

“The element West Des Moines is one of my favorite properties. I have stayed in both their studio and suite room types and have never been disappointed. My favorite part about this hotel is the nightly manager's reception. Pour your own tap beer and wine along with light appetizers are served next to the lobby in a lounge area in the early evenings. Breakfast at the Element is complementary and one of the better hotel breakfasts out there. Typically there is someone who cooks a daily special to order for guests. The hotel location is very walkable with restaurants and retail.”

“Great location, nice and clean, great staff. Smaller run of the mill room, but it was clean and did the job. REALLY chlorinated pool, so know that. Nice enough place for the price.”

“Overall our experience was ok. Some of our party said their meals were just ok, my salad was awesome but not sure it was worth the 22.00 we paid for it. Appetizers are way pricey for what they are. My husband did say his steak was great, but hated the lobster. Our biggest issue was not being able to see the bill, we think gratuity may have already been added and then we tipped the waitress not knowing it. Meal for two and we spent 175 dollars, and I had a salad. So would I recommend, no, I would not pay that again for just ok, sorry”

“I am a Jewish American man who apon arrival at your establishment was ridiculed with hateful antisemitic slurs regarding my religious attire which I found disrespectful as I had done nothing to insure it, after being rudely escorted to my room and my bags crassly tossed onto the floor of my room. If that wasn't bad enough I requested room service the following day during a long period that I would be out of the room, and upon my return I see that room service had not been to my room, and when I inquired about the reason for this I was told quote ( can't you clean up after yourself?) Then they explained that my room hadn't been cleaned not because of under staffing or high quantity of business which would have been understandable but because they operate the expensive rooms like the one I stayed in on rotation to properly distribute tips. All that not even mentioning that the ac in my room was very dysfunctional and caused my room to be very hot the entirety of my stay and although the staff that eventually cleaned my room was polite and quick I believe her name was Jennifer who should be commended, I still regrettably will not be staying with this establishment anytime in the future and would highly discourage this as your choice.”

“Front desk had no idea what they were doing, how many times does the manager have to be called to check someone in.But that’s typical of all hotels, the least qualified are forced to run the hotel in the evenings.$127.00 for a room and no free breakfast. But you can buy breakfast from the bistro/cafe. But they’ll most likely be closed.Noteworthy details: Fridges are off in the rooms, so don’t expect it to keep anything cold. It takes time to get cold and will turn off in 8hrs automatically.”

“This hotel was nice! Easy to find. The room was clean! The lotion was out in the bathroom, but it was not a big dea,l I had my own. Beds were a bit too firm for my husband. All in all had a good experience.”

“Pool was a little small and plain, but it worked for our group. Gets a little loud in the pool area and can be hard to talk when the kids are playing. Overall, great hotel and staff.”
