“Reasonable prices and selection, Great meat counter with real butchers where everything is not gassed and wrapped in plastic! Excellent service, more of an old-school grocery store but unfortunately is not open on Sundays?!?”

“This is the most delightful store ever and the shop owner is so wonderful. I will be back ESPECIALLY for these mushroom/cabbage pies (which she offered to heat up for me). I haven’t been in a shop filled with Cyrillic-labeled food in a long time and it almost made me cry with joy.”

“Never been to a Trader Joe’s until today. Stopped there with my son out of curiosity and for a drink. Everything was great but our cashier, Mem, really stood out. She was an absolute sweetheart and truly went out of her way to be kind and welcoming, along with wonderful conversation. Even my pre-teen son raved about how nice she was the whole way home. We live about 45 minutes away but absolutely plan on making the trip solely because Mem was such a stand up employee and wonderful person. Thank you Mem!!”

“We are here on a work contract for the past year and it is our go to for beer, snacks, and any extra grab n’ goes we need for meals. The employees are always nice and occasionally the owner will be there with his cutest, 4 legged pal. We looked into the history of the business and building while we have been here and we are so happy to have spent our money and time here. A staple in the community and kind workers always. We will be buying merch before we leave!!!”

“Great selection, though their "special" items are can be very limited and you have to buy them or you won't see them again. But if you're looking for your usual produce and other goods, Aldi is awesome.”

“It's one of the nicest Aldis I've ever been to. Its new, very clean and organized. The staff are always helpful and kind. Keep up the great work! ?”

“This is hands down the best Indian store for all your Indian-made essentials. You’ll find almost everything here — from fresh sweets and aromatic incense sticks to a complete range of puja samagri. The shelves are stocked with a wide variety of ready-to-eat meals, cooking oils, traditional snacks, lentils, flours, and spices, all sourced with quality and authenticity in mind.
What truly sets this place apart is the freshness of the produce, especially the green leafy vegetables and other perishables.... always crisp, vibrant, and neatly arranged. Every item feels carefully selected to bring a piece of India to your kitchen.
The store owner deserves a special mention ...incredibly polite, humble, and always willing to help. Whether you’re searching for a rare ingredient or just need a recommendation, he goes out of his way to assist you with warmth and genuine care.
Highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a one-stop shop for fresh, high-quality Indian essentials.

Tip: Every Wednesday they serve Samosas and Chai (Tea). Go grab it ☺️✌️”

“Very easy to find and park. The only downside is the walk to the supermarket. However the gas station store might be all you need and is right next to the chargers.”

“I enjoy shopping at New Pi, but I wish there were more free parking spaces. Excellent organic selection. We shop here regularly. Customer service is usually awesome, and checking out goes quickly. We enjoy getting fresh ready-made vegan sandwiches and goodies and eating outside at the picnic tables when it's warm enough. My greatest discovery was a freshly made vegan gluten free chocolate cake slice. It was amazingly delicious!”

“Has a great selection of items, plus the attached restaurant has delicious food.

Staff are incredibly friendly and kind, I had an embarrassing moment and the staff were super understanding and made me feel at ease.

10/10 small business experience I recommend heavily”

“I love shopping here, but not allowing me to take the cart of groceries to my own car is something crazy!!! If I spend $50 in groceries, do you really think I'm going to steal your grocery cart?!”

“We found this grocery store on the way to the Amana Colonies. He said he's run it for 65 years! Nice small town grocery store..makes you remember the mom and pop grocery that is sadly fading in America.”

“You have a variety of local African foods and condiments. A little bit more than Walmart prices, but again, you won't find most of your African needs at Walmart.”

“I also work at this Hy-Vee Gas and can confirm we do not have Krispy Kreme donuts. If you ever need help with the pumps, if you go to #5 or #6 there is an assistance button you can use to page us outside.”

“I believe the baker that designs my cookie cake every year is named Brittny. This year was a "Taylor Swift theme". She nailed the cake too look like the cover of one of Taylor Swift's Albums; Lover! It looked fabulous! My daughter started taking Spanish this year so that why it says "Catorce"...I try to sneak in practice every chance I get:)”

“Fareway is obviously smaller than the other options in Iowa City, I prefer that. They have the nicest people in every department and they are always more than happy to put your groceries in your vehicle. I prefer to shop there over anywhere else. Their produce is always better and it's not even a competition, when it comes to the quality of their meat.”

“I have tried almost every grocery store chain across the country and HyVee is one of my favorites. I love the selection of premade meals, cafe style seating and boutique style sections throughout the store. They also have Starbucks!”

“The stock on the shelves is constantly in flux. Everything from staples and cooking supplies to produce and snacks, slabs of pork belly and ducks in the freezer. Great prices. Huge selection. Nearly hidden. Find it. Go there. Get stuff.”

“Quite the gem tucked away here in Iowa City. Al Salam has a decent array of various Middle Eastern Foods and Treats. I've found the pricing to be good and these date cookies are rather delicious. Not to mention the Turkish Olives they import. If you live in town you should stop by and give it a try.”

“Natural Grocers is a recent discovery for me. I can count on them for healthy choices and a variety of options in every area of the store. The egg prices can't be beat and if you have dietary needs, they probably have what you need. The supplements department is extensive. There is also a personal care section. The staff is very helpful if you have any questions. If you haven't shopped there, check it out!”

“I’m not local. I just passed by.This’s located around hotels. It’s convenient place to buy grocery and breakfast and lunch as well. One of my favorite thing is that Starbucks’s in the market. They’ve sushi and hot food too.”

“Just OMG...... the beer selection. Best I've seen in the area since moving to Iowa City a year or so ago. If you like 2x and 3x IPAs, well, here you go. They have Black State and plenty of others that rival NorCal, SoCal, Chicago, Oregon and other. You're paying for it, (up to $8 a can), but you only live once.”

“I really like Hy-Vee in general. Sure, I know they can be more pricey than some stores, but their quality is good and they have excellent customer service. The waterfront store has a great health food section and one of the better salad bars in the area.”
