“The employees are always nice, but sometimes the store is not neat. I know they only have a few employees, and when the truck comes, putting things away is hard to do when they're busy, but there isn't a lot of room to move on truck days. Item availability is less of an issue now, but was a big problem recently”

“You have a store employee or a manager standing over you. When you when you used to do stuff, check out yes then they're not standing there to watch you and tell you how to do things. They're standing there to make sure you're scanning every single item and not dropping stuff in the bag and as long as we still have them in the store and they still have Christmas and everything else, they're going to do it every year. They're going to scan your items every year. The manager will because people like to drop free stuff in the bag and until that stops. I guess it'll always be that way, but once we get rid of the self-checkouts completely they won't even be there no more then we're going back to the old school where you have to wait in line. If you don't like waiting and you ain't got enough patience leave go to another store”
“I'm so happy with the service I received today at this location! I walked in and needed balloons... Now normally I just go to the section that has ones already blown up and just pick a few from there so as to not bother anyone, but I had a specific theme I was looking for today. The women there were so sweet and helpful and DEFINITELY made me feel valued. sometimes when I go into a store, especially if you're asking for help with something that requires a little bit of extra effort, I often feel like I'm a burden or that the worker is put out by helping me, but today was the complete opposite! Both of them were the sweetest, happy to blow up the specific balloons for me and absolutely made my day! Great job to the staff at the South Delaware location in Ankeny! I'm thoroughly pleased!”

The cashier Thomas was outstanding. From the moment we came into the store, til he got to us: he heard him greeting and going out of his way to help customers that crossed his path. I must say this was by far the most pleasant experiences I've ever had at a Dollar tree. Definitely made our day. Keep up the great work Thomas, you're awesome!”
“Well, ever wonder where all the returns from Amazon or other retailers end up? It's here! It's straightforward when you go there. Prices range from $1 on Tuesdays to $9 on Saturdays and $3 and $6. It's basically a search for whatever you want or need. They also run deals like winter coats at the end of the season and are half off. The variety is always changing, so if you see it, it may not be there if you don't get it. Everything is as is.”

“The staff is always friendly, I'll give them that. But in my search to find dollar tree items I want or have seen, they never have it, not around here, at least. This store is normally fully stocked in holiday items, but the other stuff ; hair, beauty, and organization items, they always fall short.”

“Clean organized place the few times that I’ve been here the staff has been kind to me there’s a good selection of snack and drinks as well as meals for a pretty small store/gas station they do a good job of keeping it open while providing a good clean selection”
“Pretty good Dollar tree. There are no frozen items, but otherwise decent selection of what you'd expect from a dollar tree. I like getting decorations here every once and a while.”

“they are always helpful & knowledgeable. they work hard at keeping it tidied and stocked with a good selection of products. and most importantly, they are genuinely "happy" to be there and it shows.UPDATE 03/13/21: to the young woman working (I will get your name & add it), who helped me with a cord to charge my phone, you went above & beyond! I am so grateful that because of you, I was able to retrieve important pics and other personal data from my phone before having to send in to insurance for reimbursement. “There is definitely a difference between family Dollar stores, it's almost like night and day I went to the family Dollar up on University next to McKay's the manager's name was Ashley and she was absolutely a poor service provider. When I asked her about her policy she was really kind of vague stated I could go online and find the information there. She said that other family Dollar stores would take back the item that I purchased from them, I thought that doesn't make sense. Or the stores individually owned, so I left out of there after telling her that she should know more about her policies and procedures especially if she was a manager and she thought that was quite rude of me. I went on another errand, Indian pass another family Dollar store on Southeast 14th you're talking about customer service she had it going on. She said they called her the boss lady, I believe her name was Christina what she laid out for customer service was something that a lot of the stores have lost.I explained my situation and she said without hesitation come on in and let's see what we can do for you and truly enough I left out of there very satisfied with what she had done. Customer service is far gone they take your money but really don't care whether you shop there or not, I told Ashley I would never step foot back in to that store on University as they were just playing not organized and not customer service friendly. We can all designate how and when we're going to spend our money but we don't have to pay people to be unkind when you're trying to get a simple answer to a question that they should be prepared for.”

Bout time they installed self check out with how short staffed they have been becoming. But on the other hand... if they keeping they're employees stocking the store, then it should look nicer. This store is a messsssss.”
“I absolutely love this Dollar general they treat me like family and I'm not just saying that. Couple times I went in there looking for a last minute mask to pick up my kids from daycare in and they were nice enough just to hand me one from behind the counter. They are always so nice when I come in and super nice when I leave. The environment is probably the main reason that I keep going in there. Love this place.”
“Have to be careful of the time of day, unfortunately when many kids are out of school I have seen them messing around (throwing things over isles and opening a lot of merchandise) the staff try to keep it fairly organized, but because of that it is a little bit of a mess. I feel bad giving 4 stars, but I wish there was something more that could be done about the destructive tendency of others who don't know how to behave in a store.”
“I’ve been to this location many times with my grandma, the area might seem ruff to those who aren’t from around here, but if you need something to eat, or something for your home it’s a great place to go, my grandma always gets sparkling flavor infused water so if there’s any lovers of that beverage reading this , hey you’ve just find your new go to spot.”

“New Dollar Tree in Grimes! Finally! Located by the post office. Just like any other Dollar Tree. Simple and convenient store. Has all we need for dollar finds. Service is nice. During pandemic all employees are masked. Mask mandate was lifted in May 2021 so patrons are not required to mask. Clean new store. Will visit again!”

“This is not the closest DT for me but I will travel to this location because it’s my favorite DT! They are amazing!! They ALWAYS have all the newest products/seasonal items out & well stocked while other locations are still unpacking the same items or some haven’t even started yet! They always keep their inventory well stocked and offer a lot of items that other stores don’t seem to carry. They have the BEST craft section that is always well stocked and well organized. I will go to locations closer to me when I need something and it never fails, I always end up coming back to this location to get what I need and they usually never disappoint! Staff is usually always nice and helpful, never any issues!”
