Ann's Bistro
17 Back Meadow Rd, DamariscottaI had been to Ann's Bistro once before with the hubby and remembered liking it. This time I went with 2 friends. Abby our host/owner was lovely. The restaurant feels cozy & inviting with wood paneling and bookshelves. We ordered 2 cocktails and a mocktail, guava bourbon smash, tangerine mezcal margarita & guava sunshine fizz, the concoctions were perfectly balanced & got us off to a nice start. There is a small but well selected mostly European wine list. The menu was eclectic & appetizing making it hard to chose. We ordered salad, lamb ragu, linguine carbonara & carne asada (grilled beef w/ rice & beans + side salad that came with it). Dessert was a chocolate lava cake w/ pomegranate seeds. All the dishes were delicious. I can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. They also own Koko's Sandwich Bar which I look forward to trying too.

King Eider's Pub
2 Elm St, DamariscottaA very nice place to eat. We were able to sit outdoors and enjoy the atmosphere, which made for a relaxing meal. The lobster roll was okay, but to be fair, I eat a lot of lobster rolls, so I may be a harsher judge than most. The cupcake dessert, however, was phenomenal and may have completely redeemed the lobster's report card. If you're in the area, give King Eider's Pub a try—just save room for dessert unless you enjoy making poor life decisions.
