85 Baribeau Dr, BrunswickDr. Norman is incredible! He is exemplary in the way he inspects and accesses your animal— top to bottom— regardless of what brings your pet to the vet. He often mentions things that you would not have thought of, or comments on aspects of your animal’s health to look out for, along with addressing any health concerns that brought them to the clinic in the first place. He is incredibly thorough and has a fabulous connection with animals. The front of house staff are wonderful and professional, managing multi-tasking beautifully, as the clinic is always busy. The pharmacy, although often also very busy, does a great job in getting medications filled as quickly as possible. The space itself is very clean. We have an aging dog and two cats and have been very grateful for the care they have received here.

30 Bath Rd, BrunswickIt is easy with the overabundance of craft breweries to run with the safe and typical options. Black Pug certainly does not operate this way and instead experiments with unique flavors along with some more traditional brews. Today marked the first time I have revisited since way back in February of 2019. At that point they had only been open since October 2018. Hard to remember just how much the space had changed but it is still small but not meant in a negative way at all. It's a small but inviting and well decorated space. Plenty of as you would expect Pug pictures and decor, so very cute! I appreciate that they take risks with more unique beer offerings. Including their flagship THAI.P.A that uses ginger and lemongrass and they rotate different flavors into it. Jasmine and hibiscus beers and more. More traditionally they offer a kolsch as well. They also have bottles to go and offer growler (aptly named pug jugs) to go as well. If you can't decide their smaller pours are perfect to sample multiple brews. This visit my wife enjoyed their fruited sour Druidcraft and I got their smoked lager Camp Wood 4 Sale. Both tasty and well made. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders will help find the perfect beer for you and make you feel welcome in their space. Also although we did not partake this particular weekend they were offering Christmas ornament painting, a great little craft activity! A smaller sized brewery that deserves support and is worth checking out!

But bc local businesses who have returned to the earnest and important work of delivering excellence deserve every good thing, I’ll spill the tea. The menu is thoughtfully curated, unpretentious and expertly articulated. The Wet Smacks oysters are easily the best on the East coast. The beef tartare is beautiful, light and flavorful. Every special I've ever had has been brilliant—most recently a Parisian gnocchi with shrimp and broccoli rabe. It was saucy, complex and deeply satisfying. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the cheesecake. I’m typically not interested in a cheesecake—I find them cloying and heavy. But in this case, it’s anything but. Texturally perfect, not overly sweet or tangy—just well balanced, with excellent mouthfeel and there’s always an interesting and seasonal variation to try. We sit at the bar, every time, just so we can talk to John, the owner and chef who couldn’t be kinder or more sincere. He is exactly the business owner that can’t help but contribute to a lasting sense of community. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation.

Comfortable atmosphere. Love their oyster stew! Plus, I ate well and I was taken cared for with my sensitives to gluten.

5 Industrial Pkwy, BrunswickI got my adorable boy Franky here. The process was very swift and they gave me all of the information I needed about his past surgeries and care. The packet they gave me was full of information and has been very helpful! They take very good care of the animals and whoever fostered my kitty did an excellent job potty training him and getting him comfortable with his toes and ears touched for cleaning and clippings. They have been a bit difficult to contact after the adoption, but I can only assume its because they have a lot going on with all the animals in their care. They got back to me when they could and were super helpful and informative. I would definitely reccomend getting a pet that needs a lovely home from them!
