“This place is incredible. Easy walking distance to downtown and beach. Great ocean views. But what really sets it apart is the service and amenities. Aaron and Bruce were genuinely friendly and welcoming. They even anticipated my needs. The hot tub is so relaxing. And it is salt water; so nice to not smell chlorine. And to top it off, it has a canopy above it so it can be enjoyed in the rain.”

The location is in walking distance to lots of good restaurants, shops, beach and more! Scott and Mark are so welcoming and accommodating. We had a late arrival and they made it easy for us to check into our room. It was our first time staying here, and we will definitely be back to stay here again! “Of course we love Captain’s Quarters but more importantly so did our pooch Bella! Her first vacation was a success. Room was clean and those bed linens! We had a bit of a TV problem and Missy came right down from Gazebo and took care of it. We are coming back with our pooch in tow. Thank you Pete and Missy! See you soon Scott and Bruce ”

“Sept 4 - 7th, 2023, came here with friends and stayed in Room on the 2nd floor. The room had a small kitchen with a nice clean working refrigerator. They had a small coffee maker a toaster, and microwave oven. All the equipment looked new. Plus there was a small eating table for two. The room had 1 queen bed that was comfortable to sleep on, plus the pillows was nice and soft. We asked for a Cot to be put in our room since there were 3 of us for an additional charge of course. My friend who slept on the Cot said the mattress was just OK, and I am sure it is ready for a Foam Mattress replacement. LOVED the sign on the inside of our door that stated Guest who Smoke in the rooms will be charged 250.00 dollars Fee. NOTE, there is a Smoking Area outside by the Ice Machine if you needed to smoke. However, I did see the guy on the first floor sitting outside his room smoking. Amanda, who works there was very personable, and friendly. When I asked her for extra towels, and plastic bags I didn’t have to wait long for her to deliver them to our room. The room is equipped with a Smoke Detector and I assume a Carbon Monoxide Detector. Sherry and Jennifer who work in the Office are very professional and friendly. Honestly, all the workers I am sure that work there are hard workers, otherwise the place would not be so clean. All and all, we would definitely stay there again if we want to come back to Maine because this Hotel is right in town, walking distance to all stores, restaurants and the ocean.”

“Very very conveniently located so once you part you walk to the beach, Perkins Cove and the town and most restaurants. The room was small but clean and had all that we needed yo make our own breakfast. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again but in a bigger room.Walkability: Perfect being in town, no need to move your car as parting is very challenging all over the area.”

“We are on the bottom floor and hear everything from the top floor. Walking, talking, toddler feet running and crying. Not a quiet experience. The rooms themselves are very nice and a wonderful view. The Internet works well in the room. However, if you want to sit outside the door you lose it completely.”

“Customer above all else. What more can I say? The Grand Hotel Ogunquit is THE place to stay while visiting this lovely town. My wife and I visited for our babymoon and plan to do so again, thanks to our great experience. We arrived late at night but the hotel staff, notably Heidi, had everything prepared for our arrival. Room key, instructions and plenty of thoughtful notes were left for us for our arrival. We felt as we were in GREAT hands. The level of service was above and beyond and to the highest level of understanding for us. We also felt very comfortable and welcomed thanks to the notes left for us.Rooms were great, very roomy with a living room in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. Tons of space for sure. The hotel also has a heated indoor pool that we didn't use as we forgot bathing suits, and an outdoor hot tub. No breakfast served but there is a coffee bar available each morning.Location of the hotel is fantastic. A mile-ish walk to downtown, less than half mile walk to Perkins Cove and conveniently located close to plenty of great food and shop spots. Also, the trolley makes a stop at the hotel, so an easy $5 will get you where you need to go if you don't feel like walking. All in all, the Grand Hotel Ogunquit is a great stay for first timers and returning visitors. Expect nothing but the best here.”

“We have been staying here for over forty years. I started coming when I was three and now I bring my own children. They are teenagers now but have been coming since they were weeks old. The rooms are cozy and quaint and what people are calling “dated”. Who cares. The view makes up for any of that. The fridge is not in the bathroom. It’s outside of the bathroom under the sink. There are no microwaves but access to the dining room microwave is allowed. There is new management, not new owners. They hired a management company so some things have changed. It is weird going into the office and not knowing anyone. We’ve known the previous staff forever. We have the same fabulous maid every year who always remembers our names. They will clean your room everyday if requested which we don’t usually need. I’ve never seen any uncleanliness, ever. Reservations are based on seniority and done by paper requests at the end of your stay. You’re then required to mail a check deposit. Reservations used to be very competitive as we request the same week and same room every year. It’s always been done that way, yes, and it’s really not anything to complain about. The breakfast is a more than sufficient continental with fresh made muffins, breads, fruit, cereal, yogurt, hard boil eggs, coffee, and juice. I’ve never experienced anything reflecting that they don’t like children. There are many families that we see every year. It’s in a wonderful location with beautiful gardens. Within walking to downtown and the infamous Marginal Way begins right by the pool. Highly recommend, 10/10.”

“We spent a weekend here in November and had such a wonderful time. From the time we got in we felt welcomed by the staff and comfortable in the atmosphere of the inn. The room had a King bed and a small balcony overlooking the pool and hot tub setup. The inside of the inn was clean and cozy! We also got great recommendations for dinner and didn't have to blow the bank. Thank you for a great stay, we'll be sure to be back!”

“The hotel is a 3-star hotel. It's a decent 3 star, but definitely a 3 star. Room was nice, bed super comfy and we loved the fireplace. The location can't be beat in Ogunquit with access to Marginal Way (though check before you go as it's currently closed due to storm damage). We went expressly because we'd heard about how great the indoor pool was and the outdoor hot tub from friends. In reality, the pool was lukewarm/tepid (definitely not WARM), which made it not so desirable to spend time in. What looks like a hot tub next to it is not a hot tub at all, but a "whirlpool". We found that out when guests complained to staff in front of us that the water in there was also tepid. The staff member informed them that it's not a hot tub, but a whirlpool. I saw multiple people come to the pool and "whirlpool", expecting them to be warm/hot and actually leaving after about 5 minutes. The outdoor hot tub is great. It's really hot and a good size. Beware, though, that they close it at 32ºF. The reason for that is safety, given that the water around it could freeze and cause falls. Just good to know before you go, if it's full on winter.Housekeeping is only done every 3 days, apparently, though you can request certain services done if you call the front desk to do so. Isn't one of the joys of staying in a hotel having your bed made and room cleaned, daily? Covid isn't what it was ... you can bring back standard, daily housekeeping now. Keeping the pool tepid and not having housekeeping suggest money saving measures at the hotel while a daily resort fee is charged. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth, as a guest.Of note is that there is a middle-aged man at the front desk who is not friendly. I wondered why he even works with the general public. We didn't have a specific problem with him or anything; it was jut his demeanor - he was cold and made you feel like the hotel was doing us a favor letting us stay there. Kind of off-putting when you're checking in. Other staff was perfectly fine. Not exceptionally friendly, but fine.I wouldn't choose to stay here again in any season. It's OK, but I've stayed in much better.”

“Perfect, ideal location for Ogunquit; on the water with chairs on the grass for relaxing, a stone's throw from the bridge to the beach and the Marginal Way, and an equally short walk up the street to all the shops and restaurants. When I booked the room was listed as obstructed view, but when we got our room it was a corner room with full view of the sea. We couldn't be more pleased. Quiet evenings with sounds of the sea for a wonderful night's sleep, super comfortable bed, and a delightful continental breakfast that we could enjoy on the covered, cozy porch. Highly recommend Terrace by the Sea!Rooms: Super comfortable bed, bright white linens, sparkling clean bathroom, view of the sea, quiet night's sleep, just wonderful!Safety: Felt perfectly safe here, no issues whatsoever.Walkability: Easy, short walk to the bridge to the beach, Marginal Way, and the shops. Perfect location!Noteworthy details: Very clean porches and all areas of this expansive property, with beautiful flowers and shrubs blooming and well maintained.”
