“I have been coming to this gas station and car wash for a while now, and I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Joey C who always makes my visit a positive experience. He is consistently friendly, polite, and welcoming, no matter how busy it gets. It is rare to find someone who treats every customer with genuine kindness and respect, but he does it effortlessly every time.

Whether I’m just grabbing gas or getting my car washed, I always leave with a better mood thanks to his great attitude. It is a small things like this that make a big difference. Great service like this deserves to be recognized!”

“So far from my native lands, I've struggled with an inability to find real comida Latina in Maine. This store does not check all of my requisite boxes and I was mysteriously unable to find stuff like soft corn tortillas (at Shaws and Hannaford's you are lucky to get some flour tortillas in a plastic bag), but I did find most of everything else I needed. It's a tiny store, but chock full-- everything ranging from your basic Goya or American-Latino products to more exotic imports.”

“The food is good and they have a good selection of stuff. It is kind of pricey for a convenience store, but it's only a block from from my place so I can overlook that if I'm not broke. The food is good as well. And the staff is always friendly and welcoming.”

“Awesome new convenience marketplace attached to a gas station in the greater Portland area. This one has an unparalleled beverage section, with a long hot coffee selection, a shake machine and one of those mega soda machines where you can dial up your combo.Inside the Market, there is also a hot fried chicken counter and the best part...a Boba Tea stall!I ended up ordering a Taro Boba with no added sugar and it was spot on!Queen Bee is so big, there seems to be a lot of room there to grow, maybe open up a few more food stalls??”

“What is there to say? It’s a Cumbys. They’ve got gas. They’ve got drinks. They’ve got eats. You may also get a nice little dose of Maine sarcasm if you’re lucky. Let’s not overthink it”

“Wow!!! Best little market/gas station I have ever been too! The food is so good that I know a couple who had their anniversary dinner there when the wait at Olive Garden was to long... here are 100 other restaurants near by but the food at the Rusty Lantern Market is AMAZING!!! It isn't gas station food... It's top of the line restaurant food. Lots of parking, drink selections, alcohol selections, an awesome manager, clean bathrooms and like I said before the BEST FOOD! When is the last time you were at a gas station where the trash cans were not over flowing with trash? I have never seen over filled trash cans at that Irving station. It's my 1st pick for a gas station in all of Portland/South Portland.. I seen someone said it was expensive in another review. There are some places you might find some things slightly cheaper. It's pretty much at par with other places BUT the items that seem "pricey" are unlike anything you will get anywhere else! Plus you get what you pay for and you get your money's worth. One of their salads is 3 meals for me because they pack so much in one of those containers. Not many people can finish one of those salads in one sitting. Get money than one dressing because those veggies are crammed in there pretty tight and you will need it! Don't miss out! Give it a try... You will not regret it. I bet it will become your favorite place to get gas and everything else. Oh man I almost forgot to add this little fact... There are other Rusty Lanterns and a lot of things are the same at most of them... But not the food. I have had pizza at 3 other stores in the chain and none of them have even came close to the store on congress st. .. their pizza is amazing! I'm betting it's the best in the state of Maine. It's not like that at other stores. They get different crust at some stores and all the stores have different ovens. So where the Rusty Lanterns are all clean places with good gas, drinks, alcohol selections and so on, you can't get the same amazing food at the other locations that you will for sure get at the Congress st location. Facts! Sorry this is so long. I like to be descriptive as possible in reviews..Ps... Their lobster rolls are made with fresh lobster meat cooked and picked locally. They put so much on the brioche roll that you have to take some off and eat it by itself because you can't open your mouth wide enough to take a bite and also it's piled so high it will fall off anyways! No joke.. I love the deal they have when you buy two.. and even more than the deal I love that they add a dill pickle spear wrapped in a sandwich bag to the container the roll comes in... Amazing!!!!! Now that I have talked about them I'm craving it and I have to go to the store and get one... Plus a slice of pizza because they make fresh pizza all night. They pack the cold case every night with freshly made food. There is no place I have ever seen that comes even remotely close to that place...so that's my honest opinion, thoughts and feelings... Good luck guys. Be safe and take it easy. :)”

“When one of my buddies wasn't feeling well while we were in Portland, I made a trip to this Walgreens to get Advil, water, candy and nuts...only the essentials, naturally. The store was clean, well-lit and well-stocked. Prices were reasonable and checkout was fairly quick. There's a parking lot here as well, which is nice because parking in downtown Portland is at a premium! If you have drugstore needs, this is your place.”

“Manager and Assistant Manager do their best only yell at problematic customers cuz it's commercial St and that part of town is junkbox central so that should be expected lmao.”

“I cannot believe people give 1 star for needing a damn restroom. Seriously, I'm sure the type is called the paying customer...right. Honestly I gave 4 stars here because the items I use like to show up and suddenly disappear. Also, there's not much reasonably priced (at every location). Though the store clerks here are never very happy and some are apparently looking for a girlfriend, the pharmacy is not like this and they are professionals. I give the people at the pharmacy dept. 5 stars. The male pharmacist is extremely helpful and the young lady, Marlene, who is a pharmacist technician is most helpful, too. She and the other guy, (who wears the awesome shoes, perhaps Nick?) go out of their way to make things right. All with wonderful attitudes. All of these people at the pharmacy are amazing and they exceed in giving a satisfying experience from good customer service they provide. As far as shopping here, I am not a fan. Trader Joe's has better options for much of what is offered here and it's right next door. Not a great location for a Walgreen's is my opinion. Prices are high and there isn't much for folks who are vegan nor for those who like to shop conscious, green and ethical.”

“Staff were not unprofessional to me in any way. I was attempting to perform a very basic retail brand servicing visit (literally just five minutes of placing stickers on a popular brand’s products). Staff were not happy that I was there at 7pm as part of my 23rd consecutive work day. Staff asked me to return another time, which is fine and within their right, but not possible for this project. Staff declined to look at letter of authorization provided by my client.

I felt compelled to review because of two assertions made to me: first, that I must be having a hard time getting permission to complete this work for this client. On this project this past week, I successfully made 52 visits at Cumberland Farms locations in three states, and this is the only visit that was unsuccessful.

Second, I was condescendingly asked why I was working so late. While I do not wish to share the family related reasons, as well as the economic parameters (per job fees, vehicle expenses and travel time, etc) of making a living in retail contracting, I would urge store and district managers for this and other retailers to please give some thought to the economic reality of many working Americans. There are many people among us - including many Cumberland Farms employees - working second and third jobs, or “side hustles”, at all sorts of hours of the day, whether as a rideshare driver, food delivery, etc. There are all sorts of legitimate reasons a person would be even more motivated than usual to put in extra hours five days before Christmas.

It would be really upsetting to me if this review caused any negative repercussions whatsoever for or about the staff I interacted with. They are just doing their jobs and again, nothing said to me was unprofessional, inappropriate, or remotely close to warranting any negative repercussions. What I am asking for management to consider, is updated guidance about what our second job, side hustle, and gig economy looks like. I understand that staff do not want a truck of beer delivery, or the chips guy, to arrive after 3pm. I think there is, or should be, a world of difference between a salaried company employee bringing product into the store, ordering, etc. as part of a regular route, as opposed to an unsalaried contractor performing basic brand service related tasks that do not involve bringing product into the store or doing anything at all that involves the store’s inventory system, register terminals, or other sensitive property. I do not feel that reading my client’s prior authorization and examining my photo ID badge, followed by allowing me to complete basic work on behalf of my client, would have created any inconvenience or risk for the store and its staff in any way. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth, but afterwards, I was ultimately able to complete six other visits for other clients at other locations before calling it a night.”

“After several unpleasant experiences at the Auburn Street store I decided to try this store. You learn quickly not to bother a pharmacist on Auburn St. This happened to me twice in about a 4 month period. The pharmacist at this CVS went out of her way to answer my question. She knew that I was at the end of a line of 4 people at pick up but I had no pick up and I just wanted to find out about flu shots. She took me out of line and simply answered my question. I have now switched to this pharmacy.”

“Good selection of products, friendly staff, and great location. It's nice to have a store between Alltown and Circle K. Close by, so it's a win win. Definitely recommend.”

“One of my favorite places. Started going there, when I was like 17-18 . I still go there at age 61. I miss the old man. I believe Chris. They have great deserts homemade sweets. I love their Sunday pizza specials, just overall great food. My son said their meatballs dont taste the same or thinks they don't make them the same, that they changed or don't seem homemade. I don't know. I always get pizza or chicken or egg salad with bacon. I know products are high. Things gone up. If they keep making their chicken salad same way. I'll keep buying it.”

“The 7-Eleven I visit on Congress Ave in Portland is a good store as far as offerings go and most of the personnel are very good at what they do under difficult circumstances due to location and the intricacies of many of the customers that frequent this store it's a job I wouldn't want to do because it's not just clerical or cashier it's total customer service with authority which is needed to keep things in order to be friendly yet gain the respect of the customers that they must follow the rules or leave immediately. This is accomplished by your staff most of the time”

“I laugh at these reviewsYes park ave isn't the best big apple by any means. They have some amazing workers and some lazy workers but they also have to put up with the worse of the worse in that area!! If you hate it so much go to another store there's plenty in Portland. Morning Staff is amazing always on there grind cleaning and dealing with customers. You can only do so much when not all workers do there job.”

“I was worried when moving across the street that it would be a bad idea. And it has been, in all the best ways! Seriously, giving me access to so much junk food at any time of the night is a terrible idea. Even the overnight folks are cordial and kind, welcoming me to the neighborhood when they heard I'd moved in. Haven't tried their slurpees yet, but there'll be a day.”
