“I love stopping in here when we visit Portland! The owners and staff are engaging and welcoming. I feel like I’m in another country and taken a trip to a Scandinavian country! “My wife and I travel annually to Maine and I always make time to stop in this particular store. Their curated selection of men’s clothing is second to none. The attention to detail and the responsiveness of the staff is always refreshing. As an example from my most recent trip: I found a shirt I loved and one of the staff noticed that it was slightly too long. Without hesitation they offered to alter the garment and even to ship it to me since I lived out of state.
This kind of service will keep me coming back and purchasing items for as long as I visit Portland. My only regret is that they don’t have more stores nationwide - but the fact that there is only one store is likely what makes it that much more special. I can’t wait to come back to David Wood next year.”

“Decided to stop in to get some proper running shoes for an upcoming race, and I’m so glad I did! The place was pretty busy, but I was helped quickly. Lucy was amazing—she took the time to explain what I should be looking for in a running shoe and really knew her stuff. She made the whole process super easy (especially for a beginner runner like me) and helped me find the perfect pair.
