“Was assisted right away. Of course, I needed to see a last item from the top shelf, but they brought the ladder and brought it down for me. Merchandise had been there it seemed, for years looking at the amount of dust on it. No purchase made bit the help was friendly.”

“Love this store. It can be a little pricey but they have everything you need. A wide selection of random things: vintage candy, classic toys, and party, kitchen, and school supplies. The list goes on!”

“About three years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a kind gentleman who worked in the downstairs grilling area of the store. We chatted a bit and I eventually purchased a grill. One of my first jobs as a youth was working at a local hardware store. So seeing all of the familiar odds and ends made me feel a bit nostalgic. I always have supported local business and took it as a sense of local pride that my phone number is among those listed as a frequent customer. So if you want to support local business that supports it's local community, this is the place to go. So.... why not 5 stars then? (Warning: Reading and Feelings Involved. They are a great shop with great staff in the following has no bearing on how I feel about their services, competency, or policies) Well, as someone who has worked retail, and works in the business world, I am a fan of communication and the appearance of customer service, even if you're telling the customer something that they do not like. I was in the market for some fire starters as I am taking my younger kids on a camping trip. I happened to arrive at 5:59. The store closes at 6:00. As I approached, I noticed that the door inside was being unlocked to let out two people, then the door was locked behind them. The store closes at 6:00. I attempted to make eye contact with the individual locking the door but failed at that. Another gentleman from inside walked past the front door and I said "Oh, I was late, sorry." and he made no eye contact, or didn't hear me, or knew they were closed.... something. But that interaction, or lack thereof made me feel as though I was encroaching on their time. Which I might have been. But from a customer service standpoint, and from my perspective, I would have appreciated a "Sorry, we are closed" verbally. They didn't have to do that, but it would have been nice. I think I've seen maybe one too many movie where someone goes to a place for assistance, and the townsfolk obviously lock the door. They don't know if I was going to say I left my car keys there or whatever. It just didn't feel right at the time. Long story short. Great store. I found what I needed at the grocery store, but I wanted to spend my money with them. Oh well. No love lost.”

“I just left my local Lowe’s in LaPlata and met the nicest, most helpful and most importantly, knowledgeable and professional associate named Tracy. I was there with a question about drill heads. He was up on a ladder working, yet stopped what he was doing, came down and assisted. He made sure the drill bit was the exact size needed. I would highly recommend to anyone, if you’re shopping in LaPlats’s Lowe’s and have any questions with drills, ask for Tracy! He’s definitely the man!”

“Selling industrial equipment is one thing, supporting it is another. Art Siegel, the President, was gracious enough to spend time with me as I attempted to learn the fundamentals of a new CNC machine. Even though I did not buy the machine from him, he spent time bringing me up to speed on the operation of the machine. He didn't have to do it, but did. Buy your equipment here, the support is perfect....”

“Once more, I'm at a Home Depot. My happy spot. Everything appears feasible! Most recently, I bought a Magnolia tree at a very fair price! I can't wait to put it in my new home's front yard. in addition to the soil to promote grass growth. Complete it !”

“The Lowe's store itself is good, but trying to get a hold of their customer service is extremely difficult. I spent a week trying to confirm a delivery, going back and forth, with corporate and the store. In the end, I went in, got a hold of a manager who helped me solve the logistical issue.”
