“I started with Heretic CrossFit almost 9 years ago. I was hesitant to start due to some issues with my back but as Coach Craig explained, proper form and technique, which the gym taught, was crucial and I wouldn't be pushed to do anything uncomfortable. Well long story short, after several months of being a member and strengthening my core, a lot of my back issues disappeared. It has been a great journey and at my age of 61 I am still hitting personal records and stronger than I have even been. The coaches are great and personable while at the same time respecting the boundaries between coach and student that some coaches in other gyms forget are important.On a personal note, I was diagnosed in late 2016 with cancer and was forced to take a 5 month break from CrossFit while I went through treatment. When I was cleared to start working out again after treatment I had to start from scratch, weighing significantly less and pretty weak. Coach Craig didn't let that stop him from pushing me and it wasn't long until I was back in full stride, cancer free and stronger than before.Come join us. “I've been a member here for five years now and I love it. The owner, Tungi, knows everyone who goes to his gym and will give you a big hug to greet you when he sees you. He also throws potluck parties for holidays and holds the "Fitness Edge Games" where teams compete for bragging rights :) I've been going regularly to the 6am class for years now. And what you get here that you don't get anywhere else is that sense of community and familiarity. I know the names of just about everyone in my class. When I sleep in and skip class for a few days, people wonder where I am. The trainer knows me and my abilities so she knows when I'm slacking and will hand me heavier weights. If I have an injury, she gives me modifications to the exercises. We do solo work, partner work and group work. Every day is something different. I had never picked up a barbell before I started coming here (who knew they were 45lbs!?!). Now I use one a few times a week and feel comfortable with using it. But don't be intimidated by that--this gym has people of all experience levels and fitness levels. I'm the type of person that doesn't want to have to think when I go to the gym. Here, I just show up and get told what to do. That also means I can't avoid exercises I don't like (*cough* bear crawls *cough*), so I will be well-rounded. I am always dripping with sweat by the time I leave. I also don't have to sign up for classes in advance, nor am I limited to one class per day or a certain number of classes per week. No cons unless you come here expecting a traditional LA Fitness/Gold's Gym-type of place. You won't be able to come here and just put in headphones and run on a treadmill. But that's what I like. This gym isn't a lonely experience. We cheer each other on and support each other and want to see each other do well and hit fitness milestones (a whole group of us in 6am want to get/improve our pull ups and so do a few together at the end of every class. I couldn't hold myself up on the rig for 10 seconds when I first started here and now I am so close to finally getting my first pull up!). As long as you can make one of the class times work for your schedule, you'll get a good workout and get a good mix of cardio and strength training.”

My daughter is a cheerleader with SJCP and we have been to this facility several times with her squad. Madison has worked with them many times and you can definitely see the improvement. “I started CrossFit Koncepts the last day of my cancer treatment. My aunt is a member and she recommended I try it out. The minute I walked in, I felt welcomed , like these were old friends!For the first few months, Mike helped me scale all my workouts to fit my ability , since I was just getting back into working out .I have been here 5 years and love it . I even got my niece to join!Mike has great knowledge and always willing to help or modify things if necessary. The group of people I work out with are always supportive of each other!”

“I’ve been going to this gym for almost 3 years now, and it’s been my second home ever since I started. The facility is great. It’s clean, with a good amount of space, and a solid equipment variety. It also has a loft with a microwave & mini fridge, and a posing room. Recently, new equipment has been added (the BootyBuilder 6-piece set!!!) and it’s been a part of my new leg workout regimen! The community and support at this gym is amazing. BenAFits also has a great aesthetic (bonus for content). I highly recommend you visit if you’ve never been!”

“I dropped in to a morning class. They don’t have their hours posted accurately on google, but Kristen let me jump in the workout after it started so at least I got to move. Minimal coaching, but that might just be because it was a morning class. Great facility. Fellow athletes John and Megan were very welcoming!”

“Bryce, my small group trainer, explained everything well (the gym, the exercises) and also asked about my fitness goals. He also has a very energetic and enthusiastic personality that is very welcoming and motivating. The exercises were challenging and perfect for helping me reach my fitness goals. I plan to continue small group training. I highly recommend, especially if you are motivated by working out with other people.”

“I am so happy to have found this training program. I was a child gymnast, and have decades of gymnastics, acrobatic, and aerial training (including in-person handstand classes), but never found balance in my handstands until I started training with Shelly and all of the other amazing ShellyFlex coaches. My shoulders can finally open all the way for the first time since I was a small child, and I can comfortably hold a handstand and even transition through different shapes.It is pricy, and the cost deterred me for quite a while but after doing several of the free workshops that Shelly hosts sometimes and seeing what a big difference the program was making for me I finally signed up for the monthly membership. (I also want to add that I fully acknowledge the privilege that allowed me to make the decision to spend this money on myself).I perform as an aerialist but I am hopeless at coming up with ground choreography, so I was very excited to see that the program now includes a contortion choreography class! I will be using some of the combos in my next performance (with permission of course).In addition to having better handstands and flexibility since training with Shelly and team, I am feeling stronger and healthier overall. Shout outs as well to Vera for helping me find stability in my handstands, Tikara for helping me access flexibility I didn't know was possible for my body, Natalia for teaching me choreography that will give the illusion that I'm graceful on the ground and not just in the air, and Mira for helping me gain so much strength. And Shelly for seeing potential in me and helping me achieve it.”

“I worked with Duane today for the first time on a recommendation from a friend and wow is all I can say. I have chronic pain in my neck , shoulders and arms and after one session all my pain is gone. I've exhausted the chiropractors and PT with no measurable results, Duane worked out all my kinks and taught me stretching that I am confident will help me moving forward. Highly recommend Duane!”

“I’ve been going to anytime fitness for about 4 years now and I love it. The employees there are super nice and the gym is super clean. They work very hard to keep the place clean and I appreciate the effort they put in. Anytime fitness has a variety of equipment for the size of the gym that surprises me. You can do pretty much any workout in this gym while also being creative with workouts with other equipment. I use the bands they have there that wouldn’t be available at other typical larger gyms due to other people stealing them or abusing them. Anytime fitness is very a trustworthy, fun and encouraging environment that supports all customers and clients and I would recommend anyone to come here!”

“I started here a month ago and I'm so happy I finally convinced myself to try it. The coaches make the workouts fun yet challenging for everyone, no matter what their fitness level. How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.”
