“I came to the NFCU on Feb 6, 2024. Deposited a tax refund check and experienced a small set back with the image reading through the ATM. The next day I noticed the check was not pending. I called NFCU spoke with several associates and was told that a check had to be reissued. However when I went into the branch and spoke with Ms. Terri Kipp (branch leader). She went above and beyond to make sure I did not have to wait another 7 to 10 business days to receive my funds. I hope management knows she is a real asset to the company.”

Even better, I feel good about my money staying in my community. I like that they make loans to my neighbors. I wanted to bank Black, but the Black-owned banks didn't offer the services I needed. Banking locally in Prince George's County is banking, Black, for all practical purposes. I'd rather keep my money here than at some giant corporate bank that survives on taxpayer handouts.”

“I have been a member for a very long time. I see a ton of people complaining about things as if this was a major bank. That it isn't. They are not BOA or a for profit big bank. They are non profit. They don't charge you for a myriad of simple tasks, and unlike the complaints, I can generally get a hold of someone if I call. They are very slow to keep up with a lot of the online competition when it comes to offering competitive savings rates, CDS, etc. However, they provide other services to help working class people. They provide competive loan rates, car buying services, and other atypical help for people.Is it perfect? No. You have to remember, this is a credit union. They don't have an army of employees. They are a non profit. A lot of what people are complaining about are what they would get from for profit banks like Wells Fargo or BOA. They should join those banks and get nickled and dimed into oblivion so they can talk to a an agent in another country immediately, if that's what they want.”

“Update on the service that I received at the Glenarden branch of Navy Federal Credit Union. I received a call from the Branch Manager Michelle who wanted to reach out to me because I had sent a online complaint. The Manager wanted to know what happened with the member representative Aerial at the branch. I had explained that the member representative stated that she couldn't accept my $10 in coins for deposit and stated that they had to be wrapped. I pointed out that the $10 in coin consisted of $8 in quarters, $1.10 in nickels and .90 in dimes all of which could not be wrapped. The Manager stated that the member service representative said that I didn't want to give the employee the coin and had a change of heart. "This make no sense because I wouldn't drive out of my way to make a deposit and then have a change of heart and then make a complaint". Needless to say the Aerial lied to cover up her incompetence! . The Manager assured me that Navy Federal Credit Union does take coin that can not be wrapped and that the employee has been advised that she was in error for communicating the wrong information. I just wanted to Thank the Manager Michelle for addressing my concerns so quickly!!! .”

“I like the service the branch location the tellers were unprofessional a lady accepted a large deposit had it sitting on desk while she checks her cell phone I stood there she looks up with impression what you need now she puts money in drawer and gives me a receipt even if no customers have employees put phone away and be inviting and waiting for a customer to walk in also I ask for checks to be order she states ok and proceeds on her phone she never ordered the checks I called 1-800 number a week later to request checks still waiting Employees even if slow your there to work not be on phone it’s allowed they will keep doing it”
