“What a breath of fresh air! Unlike other USPS locations, this one was spacious, not crowded, and with kind staff. My wife, nine-year-old daughter, and I walked in on a Friday in September to renew our daughter's passport. Even though they have walk in hours at 9am on Fridays, we made an appointment for 10am online. Right away, Cherry helped us. She was very patient and kind. She took our daughter's photo, copied a few documents, and walked us through the completed application. We were on our way within 15-20 minutes. This USPS is inside the National Postal Museum in the building that's the first federal building named after a woman. It's spacious with all the things you'd expect- stamps for sale, greeting cards, etc. It's right next to the Union Station Metro.”

“Came in for a passport appointment. Was immediately helped at the window and had all the paperwork in order. That’s when I realized I forgot to bring the check to pay. They said I could also use a money order if I had a debit card on me but I didn’t so they said that as long as I could return today with a check it’d be fine and they’d add it to my application. Came back an hour later and another employee helped add the check to the application since the person who was helping me earlier was on break. The staff was super courteous and helpful. Imagine if this was the DMV, they would have made me make another appointment for another day.”

“The Tenley Town post office in DC is the absolute worst. Sitting in the lobby calling the phone for a mail pickup only because there is but one agent managing the customers with a line reaching the door. Called for over 33 minutes as I saw people in the back moving around at a snail’s pace as if no one could hear the phone, no one EVER answered. All too often a mail pickup can take 40 minutes to an hour. Perhaps the laziest, slowest, and totally void of any customer service etiquette. They need a complete overhaul from management down to the staff in the back. Avoid this kind post office if you can. The only good thing is they are open on Sundays.”

And when a trash can was on fire outside, he jumped into action looking for a fire extinguisher, which that location didn’t seem to be supplied with. But I could tell if he did have one there, he would’ve saved the day. USPS better put some fire extinguishers in! Either way Jovan cares and he deserves a raise.”
