City Tails Pet Grooming
20 Tremont St, BrightonI’ve been bringing my dog here for a few years and they have been consistently wonderful. They are so gentle and caring with him, and he’s always relaxed and happy in their hands. Every groom looks great, and they work efficiently without ever feeling rushed. Their prices for a full wash and groom are very fair, and the kindness they show every visit means so much.

Happy Pet Care
151 Sutherland Rd, Brighton100% recommend for local cat owners! So much more affordable than boarding and it was so great to know that my cat was well taken care of at home while I was out of town.

Big Dog Walkin'
162 Chestnut Hill Ave, BrightonI have been taking my dog to BDW for several years and they have always taken great care of him. Having this resource in my neighborhood makes it feel like a community. We mainly use the slumber party service and it makes me happy to know he isn't holed up in a crate while I'm away.

Ziggy's
583 Washington St, BrightonThe pizza was very good quality. The fact that it was thin crust brought out the flavor of the pizza sauce, which was exceptional. I ordered two slices and an iced tea. After I paid, I wanted to switch to water, so he gave me back the difference. I wouldn't have known, so I really appreciated the honesty. Nothing better than that, so I'll be due for a return visit. Thank you, Ziggy's!

The Stockyard Restaurant
135 Market St, BrightonPlace had always been more solid than the downtown spots. Recently my server hooked up up with extra olives in my martini without asking. I’m in love.

Tasca Restaurant
1612 Commonwealth Avenue, BrightonWe visited Tasca for date night and had a wonderful experience from start to finish.
We started with the pulpo a la parrilla, which was executed to perfection: spot-on tender with amazing seasoning. We also ordered the beef empanadas, which came with an excellent spicy sauce on the side. For our main course, we shared the Paella Valenciana; the flavor balance was great, and the portion size was ideal for two. We paired everything with cold beers, served perfectly chilled.
The overall service was extremely attentive and friendly. The staff speaks Spanish if you’d like to practice or order in the language, giving the entire place a warm, family-run feel.
The ambience was a major highlight for me... there are no distracting TV screens, just a beautiful series of paintings and tapestries depicting Spanish art.
I would totally recommend Tasca for a relaxed, authentic spanish dinner!

Notch Brewery & Tap Room - Brighton
525 Western Ave, BrightonGreat beers! They love to specialize in European style beers. I’m a huge fan of their Czech pilsner. It’s a good Biergarten to meet up with friends and grab some drinks.

Pho Zabb
1799 Commonwealth Ave, BrightonMy wife and were greeted by the woman who runs the restaurant and she was the nicest person. Always a huge smile and just very sweet. We started with their garlic chicken wings which were super crispy, but moist and flavorful chicken. I ordered the rare beef pho with added tendon and my wife got the kimchi fried rice. Both were super delicious. I especially thought the pho broth was exceptional and portions were huge. It's a very comfortable spot with relaxed atmosphere and seems very popular with the local community- both BC students and regular residents alike.

Pavement Coffeehouse - Brighton
415 Western Ave, BrightonRecently they doubled the size of the seating area and opened up where the roaster use to be.
Man it's huge upgrade to the inside atmosphere, the extra space makes the entire space really feel much more comfortable to chill in.
The vibe of the interior mantains a really cozy local feel. Some of the other local coffee shops that have expanded, their new spaces have felt sterile.
This pavement carries some of that classic ERC with it

Yamato
117 Chiswick Rd, BrightonRecently updated plates, water containers, and now tablet ordering system with slight menu updates. Overall still similar portions and quality as prior, though we did think the tuna and mackerel were not as fresh as usual. Salmon, white tuna, yellowtail, squid, arctic clam, and eel were the usual quality. Service staff similar as before, attentive when able but clearly hustling during busy dinner rush. Thankfully the tablet has a button to call for service and also the check when ready. Still a reliable AYCE sushi place at a decent price, with cooked options as well.

The Cat Connection
167 Chestnut Hill Ave, BrightonMy partner and I adopted a yin-and-yang pair of short-haired sisters from Cat Connection about 4 months ago after learning about them via a referral. They were in good health, spayed, shots, no diseases and are thriving now at home. We are so delighted with them every day. When we adopted them it was easy and the staff at Cat Connection were helpful and friendly. I think back fondly on their adoption and it prompted me to write a late review.

Gifford Cat Shelter
30 Undine Rd, BrightonThis was where I adopted my cat 10 years ago! We definitely made the right choice in adopting him.
Assuming the rules have stayed the same, if you want a kitten you have to get 2 so that they keep each other company.
No kill shelter! Staff lovingly care for the cats
