“My husband and I were short on our escrow and I wanted to pay it at the bank. I started out calling the Berkley branch. The customer service was terrible. The person at the Berkley branch would not take my calls after putting me into a vicious cycle with the automated system twice, this after assuring me, I would get a physical person. Frustrated, I called the Birmingham bank. After a very brief hold, I was told , Yes come in, we will help you. The difference in customer service was night and day. From The minute I walked in I was greeted by EVERYONE. Gidget helped me get my escrow shortage off, even waiting for my daughter to get back to us with information I didn't have. I felt like they put out a red carpet for me and its been a long time since Ive had customer service this good. Wes Jenkins, the manager, has created what reminds me of how banks operated before impersonal mega-banks started gobbling up our community banks. Wes and his team actually treated their clients like they were glad to see them and help them. Meg, a banker, has been helping me with my business account and personal accounts for years. She is always smiling, always helping, and just a joy to work with. Juliane, Dee, and Naji all know me by name and are just as willing to help when Wes or Meg aren't available.
